South of Heaven
Raining Blood

Megadeth Visits The Blarney Stone
Megadeth took some time off during their tour to visit the Blarney Stone in Cork, Ireland. Footage of Dave Mustaine and David Ellefson visiting the location can be viewed below. The band also issued the following statement:
"Video footage of David Ellefson and Dave Mustaine visiting the infamous Blarney Stone in Cork, Ireland during the band's current European tour can be viewed below. The Blarney Stone (Irish: Cloch na Blarnan) is a block of bluestone built into the battlements of Blarney Castle, Blarney about 5 miles (8 km) from Cork, Ireland.
"According to legend, kissing the stone endows the kisser with the gift of gab (great eloquence or skill at flattery). The stone was set into a tower of the castle in 1446. The castle is a popular tourist site in Ireland, attracting visitors from all over the world to kiss the stone and tour the castle and its gardens."
Megadeth Checks In With Road Report
Megadeth's production assistant Rikki has checked in with the following report from the road:
"Hey everybody! Checking in from a big top tent in Cork, Ireland. We're kicking off their "Live at the Marquee" summer concert series here tonight. We apologize for having to make the show time a little earlier than normal, but it's a situation that if we don't play earlier, we won't be able to get our gear to Warsaw in time for the Sonisphere. Can't have that! So a little earlier it has to be.
"What a crazy weekend this has turned out to be. Kicked it off in Copenhagen with the Deftones (one of MY favorite bands ever) for Copenhell, then headed to Download. We finished that show, packing gear and whatnot, shortly after 1 am, had to repack ourselves to fly, then headed to the airport at 4 am. The lucky ones got about 2 hours of sleep before we had to get on the plane and fly to Download. It was a long drive for our gear to get there and it arrived very very shortly before we arrived on stage. To say that we were sweating it would be an understatement! But we got it, we made it happen, on little to no sleep. The show was amazing! I can't even describe what it felt like to look out at that massive crowd and see all the support. The photo taken of the band during the bow sums it up fairly well. It was so great to see so many friends and work with a great festival staff. More...

Slayer, Sabbath And More To Be In New Guitar Hero
Activision has announced some of the details for their next installment in the popular Guitar Hero video game franchise, including several bands. The new game will be called Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock and will be much more story based than the previous games. Dave Mustaine Checks In With Megadeth Update
Megadeth front man Dave Mustaine has checked in with the following update about the band's current activity:
"Droogies! Today is a travel day and we are all slowly, but surely moving on to our local airports this morning to start what could very well be the equivalent of our artistic and performing climax. So far...
"We are heading off with more great things on our horizon than at any time I can ever remember, and I do remember. Still, I don’t want to miss a second of what is coming up in these next two months, which could be what I would call, 'my musical nirvana.'
"Over the last two months I have streamlined some things in the land of allthingsmega, and made some necessary improvements out on the Killing Road too. I looked at several other projects and distractions that I needed to debride, that were just taking all of my time and there were absolutely zero benefits to me, my family, or to Megadeth, so I chose my family and Megadeth.
"That is the purpose of this update. I want to say thanks to my wonderful family for the most amazing two weeks at home and I can’t wait to see you guys in Europe. Justis, congratulations on graduating from High School! You have made me so proud, and I can’t wait to see what is next in your life. We are going to have a blast with all of your dad’s European friends this summer! And there are a lot of ‘em! More...
Hail! to Continue Tour Despite Paul Gray's Passing
Metal supergroup Hail! has issued a statement through their MySpace page announcing the continuation of the planned European tour despite the tragic passing of Paul Gray, who was a member of Hail!'s rotating cast. The group counts as its members Andreas Kisser, Tim "Ripper" Owens, Paul Bostaph, David Ellefson, Mike Portnoy, Jimmy DeGrasso and Roy Mayorga. The full statement reads as follows:
"On Monday we were dealt a devastating blow with Paul’s passing two days before our departure. We discussed the situation and unanimously thought that in the face of this tragedy we needed to remain strong and push forward because Paul would have vehemently insisted that the show must go on. In a desperate situation we made an emergency call to James Lomenzo and James responded with a Herculean effort, on only one day’s notice, to fly to Portugal and rescue the Rock In Rio Festival. His immediate and unselfish call to arms single-handedly saved this entire tour."

Kerry King Hopeful For "Big Four" U.S. Tour
In a recent interview with Noisecreep, Slayer guitarist Kerry King spoke about his hopes to bring the "Big Four" of thrash metal (Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax) together for a North American tour.
"I hope Slayer/Megadeth tour is a precursor to the Big Four coming to the States," King said. "That tour it should be everywhere: here, Australia, Japan. Any place that wants it should have it and it should happen."
He added: "Metallica has toured a ton and as much as we have going, we don't have a free moment in our schedule, so this is just me thinking out loud, but I'd say it would be great in summer 2011. If there are any talks, they are preliminary. And that's a time frame that would work for us."

Ozzy, Slash And More Remember Ronnie Dio
As the tragic news of the death of heavy metal cornerstone Ronnie James Dio is sinking into the hearts of fans, many other musicians in the field of heavy metal and hard rock have posted messages online remembering the man and his music. Some more of which include the likes of Anthrax, Slash and even Dios Black Sabbath predacessor Ozzy Osbourne.
Ozzy Osbourne - "Rest in peace Ronnie"
Slash (Velvet Revolver, ex-Guns N' Roses): "Ronnie died at 7:45am this morning, but his music will live for eternity."
Anthrax: "Dio, Italian for God. Words won't do the man justice so we won't even try. Horns up always!"
Sebastian Bach: "Crying right now in remembrance of my hero and friend Ronnie James Dio. Dio died this morning and he was a major, major part of my life. I got to do shows with him and work with him and I loved Dio my whole life. Thanks so much the world has lost one of the best. Your last album was your best. Of course" More...
Megadeth Posts Latin American Tour Video
Megadeth's David Ellefson has posted a video update from the band's stop in El Savador, which can be viewed at this location. Ellefson also issued the following statement about the band's Latin American tour dates:
"We just arrived in El Salvador this evening, greeted by anxious and excited fans at the hotel. It's hot and humid and the mood in the air feels like it's going to be an awesome show tomorrow. Looking forward to our debut in this beautiful country, the final show of the 2010 Latin America tour."
Megadeth Cancels Show In Quito
Megadeth, who had previously released a statement saying that rumors the band was canceling the show in Quito was "the biggest mountain of horse manure," has now issued the following statement about canceling the show in Quito:
"Due to logistical problems with getting Megadeth’s gear into Ecuador, the band has been forced to postpone the scheduled show on Tuesday, May 4 in Quito. Megadeth is greatly saddened that they won’t be able to perform to the fans of Ecuador at this time but they will make this show up on the next trip to South America. Dave Mustaine will be making a statement after the tour. Ticket holders can get a refund at place of purchase."
Additional details on a rescheduled date will be announced when they are made available.
Megadeth Checks In From The Road
Megadeth front man Dave Mustaine has checked in with the following statement about arriving in Chile:
"Droogies! I just landed in Santiago, Chile and lemme tell you we are so pumped to be back here, it's sick! Last night in Buenos Aires, Argentina we had another of those once in a lifetime shows, and the funny thing is that Chile and Argentina are so close together geographically that you can't come to one country and not play the other. And as far as the fans go, Chile has always been a proud audience, and we have always loved them, and they have always been up at the top of our list with the Argentinians. Which brings me to something very important, and that is loving our fans, and the idiots who spread rumors about us canceling shows. On this tour we are going to several new countries, and some that we have only played once before. And never do we cancel a show once we are in the country, and in this case South America.
"You see, there has been a rumor floating around that we are not coming to Quito, Ecuador, and that is the biggest mountain of horse manure I have ever heard. It must have been started by someone who is very, very afraid of Megs!
"I just want you to know that you better go get your tickets now! Because when we get there and you say, 'I don't have a ticket' or 'I didn't trust you,' or 'I didn't believe that you were coming to this country,' it will be too late once the tickets are all gone. What does Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, have right now that Ecuador doesn't? Tickets to one of the best Megadeth concerts ever. I mean, if you are going to miss a concert, miss some other band, don't miss the 20th Anniversary of RIP because it won't be back here ever again."
Czech Republic Sonisphere Stop Changes Venues
Metallica has checked in with the following update a venue change for the Sonisphere Festival date on June 19th:
"If you're planning a trip to the Sonisphere Festival in the Czech Republic on June 19, just a quick note to let you know that the show has moved from Mimon Airport to Milovice Airport, only 47 km from Prague. This one's a 'Big Four' show with Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, and of course us."
Further details on the Czech Republic Sonisphere festival can be found at this location.
