Anthrax To Join American Carnage Tour?

During a recent interview with Megadeth's frontman Dave Mustaine with 24ur.com, Mustaine revealed that Anthrax will be part of some shows on the American Carnage Tour alongside Slayer and Megadeth. The start of the tour will take place in Canada on July 23rd, and end in the United States on September 4th. However, Anthrax will most likely make an appearance in the second leg of the tour. Here is an excerpt of Dave Mustaine taken from the interview from 24ur.com:

"I think it would have been cool if I would have gotten a chance to spend a little more time with Kirk [Hammett, METALLICA guitarist]. But we never really were close. I didn't really see him very much. But as far as everything else is concerned, it was great. We hang out with SLAYER all the time, and we're on tour with them in the States on 'American Carnage'. And ANTHRAX is gonna be joining us, so it's gonna kind of be like the 'Clash Of The Titans' thing we did back in the '90s, too."

It should be noted that Anthrax is not officially on the tour schedule, which means nothing official has been confirmed as of today.

Megadeth Comments On Big Four Shows

Megadeth front man Dave Mustaine has checked in with the following statement about the band's "Big Four" tour dates:

"Droogies! So now that the Big Four dates have come and gone, I feel it is time to check-in, say, "Hello" and tell you what has been going on in my world. First off, when we left San Marcos and Mustaine Music Studios aka 'Vic's Garage,' we had no idea what to expect, other than the fact that we wanted to make a point; we wanted to make the other bands feel comfortable, we wanted the fans to all leave this momentous occasion feeling completely satiated, we wanted the guys in Metallica to know that we could be depended on to pull our share...

"I don't know if we delivered for everyone, but for the tens of thousands of people each night, and ultimately hundreds of thousands of fans over the entire run of the Big Four festivals (affectionately dubbed 'Sonisphere'), it seemed to me that the fans were finally able to put aside the silly stuff that the press has kept on life support for so many, many years. We did several round-table interviews with a member from each camp of the Big Four, and one thing that was a constant and that we all agreed on was that the press was the responsible parties for keeping the feuds alive.

"You heard it straight from our mouths; we are all at peace with one another, and we all are friends. End of story – or in other words, several shit magazines will now have to learn how to write real interviews, reviews, and features, instead of causing so much turmoil with us four, all in the spirit of selling their publications."

Megadeth Comments On Bulgarian "Big Four" Show

Megadeth drummer Shawn Drover has checked in with the following statement about the "Big Four" performance in Bulgaria:

"What happened last night on that stage in Sofia, Bulgaria is something that I will cherish forever. I gotta tell ya from where I was standing (between snare drum hits) I have never seen so many people onstage with a smile that big on all of our faces. Better yet for me was to have my kids go to the movie theater back home and watch it all a few hours later and tell me how much they loved it.

"That meant a lot to me. Damn, I would have liked to go watch this in a movie theater myself. Anyways, just checking in to let you know we are really having a great time out here. I hope all of you who saw the show live or in the movies did as well."

The Big Four Rock by Satellite

Thrash veterans Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer and Metallica have never before all played the same show or festival. This isn’t too surprising, as that is a lot of stars and egos to get into one place at one time – someone has to play first, and only one band can play last. But finally in summer of 2010 the Sonisphere Festivals wrangled all four together to play seven dates in Europe. Because there are no North American dates the bands arranged to have the show in Sofia, Bulgaria beamed by satellite to hundred of theaters back home. And while there are plenty of ways to nitpick the negatives, the end result is a hugely entertaining concert via video. More...

Megadeth's new track "Sudden Death", which will appear on the forthcoming Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock game can now be heard in its entirety online. Dave Mustaine tells RollingStone.com the track is brutal, and the song has a "funky kind of polyrhythm to it" which will make it even more difficult for the Guitar Hero elite. "Just the sheer repetitiveness of it can blow people's minds" added Mustaine. You can listen to "Sudden Death" in IGN Entertainment's live demo of the game below.
