As was reported yesterday, Slipknot bass player Paul Gray was found dead in a Urbandale, Iowa hotel room at around 10:50 yesterday morning, with the cause of death currently unknown. Several of his peers have posted tributes online, including a video message from Munky of Korn. You can check out the tributes below.
Brian Fair (Shadows Fall): "I'm so crushed to hear about the passing of Paul Gray. I had the pleasure of first getting to know him on a press trip to New York City before our tour with Slipknot and Lamb Of God in 2005 and then sharing stages and good times with him and the boys around the world. He was a great musician, an underrated songwriter and a truly warm soul underneath the evil mask he rocked onstage. This is a huge loss to the metal world. He will be missed deeply." Vocalist Kirk Windstein, of the sludge metal band Crowbar, has issued the following update:
"Hey to all of the Crowbar supporters out there. I will be having a bunch of updates coming your way really soon. For starters, Matt Brunson (Kingdom Of Sorrow) is now the permanent guitarist in Crowbar. We of course all remain very good friends with Steve Gibb, but his personal training business and gym are doing great I'm happy to report, but that, and his family at home simply do not give him the time to play with Crowbar any longer. We love him dearly and thank him for his dedication while he was jamming with Crowbar."

This will take place on the 26th of December. Please check www.hatebreed.com for any more updates. There are a lot of good things going on in the Crowbar camp and I will be updating the site frequently. "
