British death metal and grindcore legends Bolt Thrower has announced that they want a local band to open for them on their forthcoming tour of the United Kingdom. They will also be joined by Greek black metallers Rotting Christ (as well as The Rotted and British death metal legends Benediction on select dates.) Ukrainian black metallers Balfor will be making their appearance as one of the headliners in this year’s edition of RockMaraton Festival 2010. The RockMaraton Festival is a seven-day metal festival which begins on the 5th of July 2010 and will end on the 11th of July 2010. The list of headliners confirmed so far is as follows:

Polish metal band Crionics has posted a new track, entitled "Scapegoat," from the upcoming EP "N.O.I.R" had been posted on the band's MySpace page. "N.O.I.R." will be out right before the summer this year. The band will soon start working on the full-lenghth album. The recording sessions are being planned for July and August this year.

Greek extreme metallers Rotting Christ have issued the following update about planning a Latin American tour:
"We are proud to announce that Rotting Christ will be celebrating their 20th anniversary, together with the new album release, AEALO, making a world tour that gives us the opportunity to have them in Latin America. The tour will happen during June, and the goal for the band and for our agency will be this time to visit countries and cities of Latin America that they never played before and of course go back in the places were in their long career, has give them always a big support and a lot of passion. We are waiting for all of you in the tour and as Sakis says… LETS MAKE HELL!!"

Greek metallers Rotting Christ have issued the following statement thanking their Australian fans for support during their recent tour:

British grindcore legends Bolt Thrower has announced that they will be performing in Greece for the first time in their careers at the end of this May. A message from the band reads as follows:
"Not only do we have the pleasure of taking the Greek giants Rotting Christ on tour with us, but we can soon say that we have played in their homeland too. As for the first time ever, Bolt Thrower are coming to Greece!

After four months in the studio Greek extreme metallers Rotting Christ have finished recording their new album, which will be titled "Aealo." Rotting Christ issued the following statement about the album:
"A title inspired from the ancient Greek word ???O which means Thresh-destruction. An distinctive twisted album that is drawing from the bands country’s ancient heritage that translate this rich history into the universal language of Metal. A concept album that is refered on the feelings of a warrior during a battle. Yes in the end you feel like you were on a real battle…So strong the atmosphere of war. It is a concept album that is refered on the feelings of a warrior during a battle…The anger the fear the grief…feelings that anyone can have when he tries to survive during a battle! Hey nothing to do with a right wind-nazi ideology …It is exactly the opposite! When you end up with the listening you feel like you escaped from a battle! You will hate war!"
"Aealo" includes guest performances from Alan A. Nemtheanga, Diamanda Galas, and Magus Wampyr Daoloth. The album is set to be released in February of 2010.
Greek extreme metal band ROTTING CHRIST has announced that their upcoming album will be titled "AEALO." Frontman Sakis explains, "AEALO is the transcription of the ancient Greek word ???O into the Latin alphabet. It means thrashing, catastrophe or destruction and reflects the musical and lyrical content of the album. The concept of 'AEALO' deals with the feelings of a warrior during a battle, therefore the album's title bears this sense of anger, fear and grief."

Greek extreme metallers Rotting Christ have entered Lunatach Studios in Katerini, Greece to begin recording the follow up to 2007's "Theogonia." The as-yet-untitled album is currently slated for a February 2010 release. Photos from the recording sessions have been posted online and can be viewed at this location.

"Rotting Christ are proud to announce their participation in the X-BOX, PS3 game BRUTAL LEGENDS. The decision of EA Games to include our song 'AD NOCTIS' in the soundtrack alongside many of the most legendary Heavy Metal acts is an honour for our horde. Greek extreme metal band Rotting Christ has issued the following update about recording a new album:
"After almost 3 years since their last output, Rotting Christ has entered the studio for the parade of their last worldwide successful opus 'THEOGONIA'. More than a year of composing process finds the band entering Lunatach Studios where are located in mountain Olympus creating their new songs that have the heavy soulful load to move the band a step forward from their previous output. The well established style and melodies of the band as well as the so many artistically surprises that always exist with each band’s release guarantee their fans a soulfull trip. New York crossover legends Life Of Agony will be heading to the United Kingdom for the first time in four years this October to headling the Jager stage at the Damnation Festival which takes place on October 24th at the Leeds University.
Damnation Festival director Gavin McInally said: "Landing a headliner of Life of Agony’s stature is a major coup and the fact it’s the first time they’ll play the UK in four years, makes it all the more special.
"After playing some off the biggest and most respected rock and metal events across Europe this summer, they’ll fly in from New York for this one-off performance and we’re delighted to host what is sure to be a special show."

Eyefear has issued the following announcement about confirming their appearance at Australia's Screamfest:
"Greetings. We are proud to announce that Eyefear have been confirmed to take part in one of the biggest metal events ever to take place in Australia Screamfest 09. This promises to be a huge event. Hope to see you all their !!! Horns Up !!!"
