Orden Ogan Releases "Fields Of Sorrow" Lyric Video

German power metal act Orden Ogan issued a lyric video for the new single "Fields of Sorrow." The song is the second released from the upcoming new wild west themed album “Gunmen,” which drops on July 7th via AFM Records.

Band leader Sebastian Seeb Levermann commented: "'Fields of Sorrow' is a special song for us in many ways: besides the (virtual) title track 'Gunman,' it is the only song in Orden Ogan’s history which I wrote together with our guitarist Tobi. Also, 'Fields Of Sorrow' is quite likely the most melancholic song we’ve ever recorded. Lyrically, we enter a kind of 'Dark Fantasy/Wild West/Civil War' world, telling the story of a man who loses the love of his life on the battlefield and has to bury her right there – while the Civil War is still raging on. The lyrics show his dark, heartbreaking thoughts in these minutes, a sad but realistic picture of human existence. With its epic-melancholic chorus, modern grooves, heavy riffs and orchestral arrangements, 'Fields Of Sorrow' features all of Orden Ogan’s trademarks."

The track listing for "Gunmen" is:

1. Gunman (see video clip here)
2. Fields Of Sorrow
3. Forlorn And Forsaken
4. Vampire In Ghost Town
5. Come With Me To The Other Side (feat. Liv Kristine)
6. The Face Of Silence
7. Ashen Rain
8. Down Here (Wanted: Dead Or Alive)
9. One Last Chance
10. Finis Coronat Opus More...

Orden Ogan Releases New Video

Power metal band Orden Ogan today premieres the first video clip taken from upcoming album "Gunmen."

The group’s new music video, filmed for the title song “Gunman,” was once again directed by Rainer “Zipp” Fränzen, who has worked with the band since 2012’s “To The End” album.

“The creation of the 'Gunman' clip was once again real team work.” band leader Seeb Levermann states. "The new Orden Ogan album is set in a dark fantasy Wild West environment, so obviously we had to go to Monument Valley (Utah) to shoot there. There is no other place in the world that is more Wild West. We shot at the classic Monument Valley scenery as well as at the famous John Ford’s Point and also did horseback rides.”

The second extensive part of filming took place in Germany, but also here the band tried something new. “A Western city in an adventure park proved to be the perfect location”, Seeb explains. “Things came full circle here, because we’ve also recorded the drums for “Gunman” there - to be more specific - in the Western Saloon of the Fort Fun adventure park. We wanted to have this huge 80ies snare ambience that you can only get from big rooms. When the Wild West concept took form, we learned about the Saloon (in Fort Fun), did some test recordings there and were totally blown away. The hall sounds amazing and 'Gunmen' may be my best sounding mix so far." More...

ProgPower USA XV: Day 1 (Friday)

There really was no better way of preparing for the official days of 2014’s ProgPower USA festival than to have gone “Full Circle” with Pagan’s Mind, DGM, and Draekon the night before, on September 11th in Atlanta, GA. For the 12th of September, if you weren’t waking up late and shmammered from the after-party the night before, you were soon to be treated to a variety of international bands: From Greece, the proggy show-stealing Need, performing their latest album, “Orvam: A Song For Home.” From Germany, the power chant-fest that is Orden Ogan. From Norway, young prog super-champs Leprous. From Sweden, the humble prog-titans of Seventh Wonder were to perform their “Mercy Falls” album. Finally (and again from the Scandinavian countries!) from Finland, the prestigious major-key-masters of Stratovarius were to perform their 1997 album, “Visions.”

With doors opening at 1:30 in the warm Atlanta afternoon, crowds and pizza (courtesy of nearby restaurant DaVinci’s) flowed in steadily to Center Stage, combining with drinks, merchandise, band members, and a few awesome wheelchair-bound metalheads with passion for the music for a very warm “Welcome to ProgPower!” feeling. Truly, ProgPower is a festival like none other in the US - full of friendly faces, excitement, and a sense of brotherhood. Further, the first band of the day (Need), personified this enthusiasm and attitude perfectly as they took the stage at 2PM. They would have the crowd in their pocket within three songs. More...

Glenn Harveston, promoter for ProgPower USA, has announced that San Francisco's Thought Chamber has been forced to pull out of this year's festival to be held from September 10-13th, 2014 in Atlanta Georgia.

The following announcement was made by vocalist Ted Leonard: "Ted Leonard here….We regret to announce that, due to my scheduling conflicts, Thought Chamber will not be able to participate in ProgPower USA 2014. I feel terrible about this, but have had unforeseen commitments arise that unfortunately cannot be changed. We are truly honored to have been invited to perform at ProgPower USA. Glenn Harveston has built one of the best progressive metal festivals in the world, and we hope that Glenn will forgive our unforeseen cancellation and allow us to return in the future. This was totally unexpected, and evidence that I've completely overloaded my plate. I would like to personally and publicly apologize to Glenn Harveston, my band mates, and to any ProgPower USA fans that may have purchased tickets solely to see Thought Chamber."

Harveston has named the replacement act as Greek progressive metal band Need. The band released the latest album "Orvam - A Song for Home" in January. As a preview, check out the track "Mother Madness" from the album here: More...
