Heaven Shall Burn Streaming New Song

Heaven Shall Burn has made another track available from upcoming album "Veto." The track "Die Stürme Rufen Dich" (featuring guest vocals by Born From Pain's Rob Franssen and Dominik Stammen), can be heard at this location or in the player below. The new album "Veto" is scheduled to be released on the following dates:

Germany/Austria/Switzerland/Norway: April 19th
Rest of Europe: April 22nd
Australia/New Zealand/Finland: April 26th
USA/Canada: April 30th

While "Veto" was mixed by Tue Madsen, there is an alternative mix available for all of the die-hard Heaven Shall Burn fans out there. The band's Maik Weichert (guitar) explains:

"The vinyl version and the Ltd. Edition 3CD Box Set of the record will feature an alternative mix, called 'Blizzard Over England Mix' by nobody less than Colin Richardson. The story behind the strange name for the mix: We were ready to fly over to England and mix the record, but there was a huge snow chaos in the UK-- no planes, no trains, roads blocked-- no way to get there. Colin was even snowed in and could not get out of the studio at all. So he mixed in almost absolute isolation and brought in a lot of interesting thoughts - without us sitting on the couch in the back and giving our 'valuable' advices...We really like the result and thought you should also listen to it.

"Most people might find that the mixes aren't very different, but those who are interested in sounds and tweaking can discover lots of different details. The vinyl will come with a CD that has the entire album in the Tue Madsen mix, while Colin Richardson's mix will be added as additional and 3rd CD to the Ltd. Edition 3CD Box Set that is only available in Germany, Austria and Switzerland." More...

Heaven Shall Burn Launches New Song Puzzle

Heaven Shall Burn has now launched a brand new track entitled "Land Of The Upright Ones" off the band's upcoming album, "Veto." But to hear the track, fans will need to do a bit of work first: the song is chopped into 8 puzzle pieces that need to be put into the right sequence.

Once you've solved the puzzle, you can download the song for free. To put together the "Land Of The Upright Ones" sound puzzle (and to hear your first preview of the new Heaven Shall Burn album), click here.

Maik Weichert (guitars) comments about the song: "The song is dedicated to Thomas Sankara, a relatively unknown revolutionary whose fate is closely linked to Burkina Faso which can be translated to 'Land of upright/honest people' or 'Land of honest people'. It's a very heavy track."

Heaven Shall Burn's new album "Veto" will be released worldwide via Century Media Records on the following dates:

Germany/Austria/Switzerland/Norway: April 19th, 2013
Rest of Europe: April 22nd, 2013
Australia / New Zealand / Finland: April 26th, 2013
USA/Canada: April 30th, 2013 More...

Heaven Shall Burn Reveals New Album Release

Heaven Shall Burn, which hilariously lit up the Twitterverse a few years back when conservative Christians discovered the band existed, has just finished recording upcoming album "Veto." The album is scheduled to be released on the following dates:

Germany/Austria/Switzerland/Norway: April 19th, 2013
Rest of Europe: April 22nd, 2013
Australia / New Zealand / Finland: April 26th, 2013
USA/Canada: April 30th, 2013

Maik Weichert (guitar) comments on the album: "We cannot wait to play the album to people! It turned out very diverse, it's melodic, emotional and brutal at the same time. Several guests visited us in the studio for additional performances, so you can look forward to some interesting twists!"

Due to a recent event, Maik would like to share a first song title: "Just while finalizing the very last bits and pieces for 'VETO' we received the sad news that Walter Schilling passed away in Saalfeld on January 29th. Walter Schilling was a Protestant pastor and civil rights activist in the GDR (former East Germany). We have a new song called 'Antagonized' that is about him, his life and his work in Thuringia.

"It might seem odd that a band called Heaven Shall Burn is dedicating a song to a man of the church. Still, Schilling was never into clerical dogmas. Instead he encouraged and helped teenagers to pursue new and alternative cultural ideas under the protective shield of his church and youth centre in Braunsdorf near Saalfeld. Without Walter Schilling a huge part of the youth culture and music in Thuringia wouldn't have happened - this probably goes for the GDR in general. No matter if you liked Blues, played Punk or Metal, every single person was welcome in Braunsdorf, Saalfeld, Rudolstadt or Jena. Schilling helped establishing what enabled HSB to play music, because most of the clubs and musicians that supported us in our very early days were directly or indirectly involved with Schilling's work. You will not find many theologians of Walter's kind." More...

Matthias Voigt Shoots Down Carcass Album Rumors

Update: Carcass has since confirmed an album is in the works and will feature Jeff Walker, Daniel Wilding, and Bill Steer. Check out the full announcement over here.

Rumors have been circulating online that Carcass is working on a new album that would feature Heaven Shall Burn's Matthias Voigt.

Heaven Shall Burn has now posted the following statement online denying these unsubstantiated claims:

"Blabbermouth.net is really cool, but sometimes rumors are just rumors. Heaven Shall Burn's Matthias is 100% NOT playing for CARCASS!

"Everybody in HSB maintains the status as devoted Carcass-fan and does not even dare to dream of being involved with this legend!"

There has been no statement of any kind from Carcass or any of the members involved with the band at this point, so it's unclear if an album was actually in the works or not. If a new album were coming, it would be the first studio full-length from the band since the 1996 release "Swansong."

More Bands Confirmed For Soundwave Festival 2012

Although it wasn't expected until December, the organizers of Australia's Soundwave Festival have made their second band announcement. Joining the 60 bands already announced are Staind, Wednesday 13, Unearth, Cathedral, Shadows Fall, Heaven Shall Burn, Your Demise, Kittie, and 14 other (mostly non-metal) bands.

Hole has pulled out of the festival after frontwoman Courtney Love refused to play before Limp Bizkit. Soundwave boss AJ Maddah said on Twitter that he was "relieved we got the moody old cow off the bill. [There’s] no point talking her back, only for her to cancel later, or turn up & act like a rotten twat to other artists, fans, etc."

A third announcement in early December will add another five bands to the lineup, and Danzig is one of the confirmed possibilities. More...
