Norwegian gothic metal act Tristania, which recently announced it will be performing at the upcoming second 70,000 Tons of Metal Cruise, has now issued the following update about the "Out of the Dark" tour:
"Tristania will be back on the road in Europe for the Out of the Dark Festival Tour 2011. The 14 gigs from September 30th until October 15th will include eight different countries in Europe, and the tour live package contain the following bands: Tristania, Van Canto, Revamp, Xandria, and Amberian Dawn. More live shows to be announced soon....."

Germany's Castle Rock Festival is set to take place from July 1st - 2nd, 2011 at Broich Castle in Mühlheim an der Ruhr. The latest bands to be confirmed for the festival include Crematory, Moonspell, and Van Canto. Additional details on the festival can be found at this location. Van Canto has posted the music video for their song "Magic Taborea." The video takes place in the world of Taborea of the MMORPG "Runes of Magic." The features a backing orchestra in addition to the a cappella group.

German a cappella metal band Van Canto has issued the following update about working on new material and re-releasing old albums:
"Great news from the vocal acrobats Van Canto: Not only did they rock this year’s Metal Female Voices Festival, but the band was also presented with the MFVF-Award for 'Best Newcomer'! A big THANK YOU goes out to all fans and supporters! However, Van Canto does not have the time to rest on their laurels!
"Van Canto TV: On October 31, the band will be part of the SWR (Rheinland-Pfalz) show 'Landesart.' The show will present the viewers with a Van Canto portrait that includes an interview with the band, live footage and video clips. 'Landesart' will air on SWR this Saturday, October 31 at 19:15CET.
"Re-Releases: The first two Van Canto albums 'A Storm to Come' and 'Hero' will be re-released on December 12 2009! Both new editions will include extensive bonus material. Fans should stay tuned for more info!

German a copella metal band Van Canto has announced the signing to The Napalm Records. Van Canto are currently working with Charlie Bauernfeind on their new album at the Blind Guardian Studios. The full-length will hit the streets in 2010. In addition, the band’s first two albums (“A Storm To Come” and “Hero”) will be rereleased at the same time as their yet untitled new album.
