Van Canto Renews Deal With Napalm Records
After the release of 2011’s "Break the Silence" (reviewed here) and the headlining tour which saw the band play in seven European countries, the world's only a Cappella metal band Van Canto have been dormant a while, but have now renewed their record contract with Napalm Records for the upcoming fifth release. In the interim time, band members have worked on numerous side projects – including Stef Schmidt's new Power Metal band Heavatar. The band is set to return in 2013 with a studio album targeted for the fall/winter.
Schmidt commented: "To take a break for a full year was quite odd for us. Maybe there are bands that are satisfied with releasing an album every 5 years, but for us it felt quite unnatural to stay away from the stage for a full year. We have checked out new things, and are now more eager than ever to return with Van Canto. We are happy that Napalm Records will be the partner for our fifth album. The album will be the most heroic, heaviest and most symphonic album in our discography, and we cannot wait to enter the studio. Rakkatakka Motherfuckers!"

Van Canto Releases New Music Video
A cappella metal act Van Canto has released a new music video online for the song "If I Die In Battle," which can be viewed below.
"If I Die In Battle" is taken off the band's "Break the Silence" album (reviewed here). You can also check out the band's previous music video for "Primo Victoria" at this location.
Van Canto Posts Tour Teaser Video
German power a Capella band Van Canto posted a tour teaser for the upcoming "No Silence to the End" tour with German power/folk artists Orden Ogan and piano metal band In Legend.

Christmas Metal Festival Lineup Announced
Napalm Records has issued the following statement about the upcoming Christmas Metal Festival in Germany:
"Metal fans who would like to rock out before the holidays, should make sure to visit Germany's biggest indoor festival. The festival takes place at the Eventhalle in Geiselwind. Besides Napalm artists like Grave Digger and Van Canto, an illustrious line-up including Blind Guardian, Iced Earth, Morbid Angel, and Arch Enemy, will guarantee raised fists and sore throats.

Van Canto Posts New Music Video
Power a Capella German band Van Canto posted a new music video for "Primo Victoria," the band's rendition of the Sabaton classic. The song features Sabaton frontman Joakim Bróden and appears on the new LP "Break The Silence" our on Napalm Records.
Van Canto Posts Video Teaser 2 With Outtakes
Van Canto posted a new video teaser with outtakes (see below) ahead of the September 23, 2011 (EU) and September 27, 2011 (North America) release of "Break The Silence" on Napalm Records. The album was reviewed by Metal Underground at this location.

Revamp Drops Off "Out Of The Dark" Tour
Revamp has issued the following announcement about dropping off the upcoming "Out of the Dark" tour with Tristania:
"Floor Jansen, front woman of Revamp, has not fully recovered from a burn out yet. For that reason Revamp regretfully cancelled participation in the European Out of the Dark Tour with Van Canto, Tristania, Xandria & Amberian Dawn. Here's a personal video from Floor explaining why we had to cancel the tour."
Van Canto Comments On New Album
Van Canto has checked in with the following announcement about the release of the new album "Break the Silence:"

Tristania Announces "Out Of The Dark" Tour
Norwegian gothic metal act Tristania, which recently announced it will be performing at the upcoming second 70,000 Tons of Metal Cruise, has now issued the following update about the "Out of the Dark" tour:
"Tristania will be back on the road in Europe for the Out of the Dark Festival Tour 2011. The 14 gigs from September 30th until October 15th will include eight different countries in Europe, and the tour live package contain the following bands: Tristania, Van Canto, Revamp, Xandria, and Amberian Dawn. More live shows to be announced soon....."

Van Canto To Make German TV Appearance
Prior to the release of their newest album "Tribe of Force," Van Canto's vocalists will be performing on German television on 07 January. You can catch the band's performance on Pro7's "Die große Comedy Wintershow" at 20:15.
Van Canto Working On New Album
German a cappella metal band Van Canto has issued the following update about working on new material and re-releasing old albums:
"Great news from the vocal acrobats Van Canto: Not only did they rock this year’s Metal Female Voices Festival, but the band was also presented with the MFVF-Award for 'Best Newcomer'! A big THANK YOU goes out to all fans and supporters! However, Van Canto does not have the time to rest on their laurels!
"Van Canto TV: On October 31, the band will be part of the SWR (Rheinland-Pfalz) show 'Landesart.' The show will present the viewers with a Van Canto portrait that includes an interview with the band, live footage and video clips. 'Landesart' will air on SWR this Saturday, October 31 at 19:15CET.
"Re-Releases: The first two Van Canto albums 'A Storm to Come' and 'Hero' will be re-released on December 12 2009! Both new editions will include extensive bonus material. Fans should stay tuned for more info!
