Trail Of Tears Cancels Shows In Brazil, Argentina

Norwegian band Trail of Tears has posted the following announcement online about canceling upcoming tour dates:

"It is with regret and a big portion of anger that we have to announce the cancellation of the shows in Sao Paulo, Brazil and Buenos Aires, Argentina on November 10th and 11th respectively.

"The reason for the cancellation is a breach of contract made by the Argentinian promoter Fiction Press, who failed to provide the agreed advances to cover flights and other costs. As a result it is impossible for the band to travel to Brazil only as it would involve a huge loss for everyone involved.

"We did a lot of work and put a lot of efforts into making these two shows as it has been our firm determination to come to play for our Latin brothers and sisters. Once again the Latin metal community, the greatest fans in the world, are suffering for what can only be described as equally terrible and useless promoters.

"Refunds should be directed to the source of purchase and once more we apologise for having to write this. We surely wish that we didn`t have to."

Trail Of Tears Splits With Drummer

Trail of Tears has issued the following announcement about splitting with the band's drummer:

"Today we have to announce that our long-time drummer Cato Jensen has parted ways with the band.

"Cato has decided to make some changes in his life and focus on other priorities. While the band was more than willing to continue the co-operation, we have to accept and support Cato`s decision that it would be too hard to combine these changes with playing in a band that demands a lot of focus and dedication. We want to thank our friend Cato for his commitment over the years and wish him all the best for the future.

"This brings us to announce that Trail of Tears is hereby looking for a new person to fill the drum stool. Interested candidates should have both studio and live experience, must be dedicated, and able and willing to tour.

"The band is currently putting the finishing touches to their seventh album and festivals and tour dates around the world has been booked for 2012 with more to follow.

"Interested candidates (preferably European residents), can contact ronny@trailoftears.no
Make sure that you include your personal information, biography, a photo and some video links to your work."

Trail Of Tears Issues Album Update

Trail of Tears has issued the following update about working on a new album:

"Hello friends! OK, so it's been a while since the last update from the Trail camp. The reason for this silence is simple: we have been keeping ourselves busy writing some new tunes and trying out a few ideas in the studio. We have to say that it has been a good experience and some of the ideas which have surfaced so far sound pretty damn exciting to our ears!

"We are continuing to write material for the next album and will spend a few more months creating something that will live up to our own expectations and goals and hopefully raise a few eyebrows as well! Check out the clip and keep your eyes and ears open for further updates!"

Trail Of Tears Parts Ways With Guitarist

Trail of Tears has checked in with the following update about parting ways with the band's guitarist:

"Our guitarist, party-hat chief and beer drinker extraordinaire, Paul, has informed the rest of us that he is leaving the band. His decision is based on lack of time and a general wish to concentrate on the band that he co-founded, Guardians of Time. We think it sucks to lose a talented guitarist as well as a genuinely great guy but this decision is probably for the best both for Paul, as well as for the band and we absolutely respect it and wish Paul much luck and happiness in the times to come. Trail of Tears will not bring a new member into the family as we are very much content with how the situation is at the moment and so the band will continue as a 5-piece.

"We also want to make it perfectly clear that this will not affect the upcoming festivals and shows, nor will it affect the writing and pre-production work for the next album, a process that we are well underway with." More...

Trail Of Tears Cancels Rock City Appearance

Trail of Tears has issued the following announcement about canceling their appearance at the Rock City Open Air festival:

"Dear all,

"we regret to inform you that the Trail of Tears performance at this years edition of Rock City Open Air in Fetesti, Romania has been canceled by the promoter.

"The promoters of the event, Metal Masters, have proven unable to uphold their basic responsibilities, such as the booking of flights as well as deposit payments, thus adding Trail of Tears to the apparent ever growing list of canceled bands.

"Please DO NOT BUY TICKETS TO THIS FESTIVAL in order to see the band as we are no longer participating in the event! Our great booking agency The Flaming Arts have tried everything in their power in order to prevent the situation, however unfortunately a solution turned out to be impossible. The band would like to apologize to every fan who intended to take part in the festival, this is completely out of our hands and the last thing we wanted to see.

"The band and our booking agency are working to schedule alternative shows in Romania for later this year so please check back for updates as soon as they become available. Stay patient and thanks for your understanding and support!"
