Northern California Alternative Metal Band GliTCHeD is beginning to close in on the end of the studio work for their upcoming debut CD on Resonance Records. In June, Guitarist Dave Thornhill dropped into Girth Sound Studios to put down a fresh set of rhythm guitar tracks. "Everything came out just fine - Dave just nailed it" said multitasking Producer/Engineer/Drummer Mark Allen. "We should have all the tracks down by July, and then comes the exciting mix down" he continued.
Lead singer Vyan and Allen then got together to produce a special set of advanced mixes of the songs " Drown" and " One Day" for the upcoming Sac Rocks compilation by Sacramento Radio Station KRQX 98.5 FM. This marks the eleventh year of the compilition which helps raise funds for homeless children and has in the past featured several major artists who have originated from the Sacramento/NorCal area including Oleander, Papa Roach, and various members of Tesla.
One of GliTCHeD's own songs will be featured this Sunday July 4th at 10pm on 98 Rock DJ Mark Gilmore's Local Licks Broadcast. A sample of the song " Drown " is also currently available on PureVolume.com.
Last week after bassist Elias Longoria placed the finishing touches on his tracks for the upcoming debut CD by NorCal Alternative Metal Band GlitChed, The Wonder Twins - aka guitarists Dave Thornhill and Jason Pate - went into Girth Sound Studios and laid down the guitar tracks for the first five tracks of ten total all original songs. Among those are crowd pleasers such as Drown, Irrelevant, Human Pinata and Nothing Left and well as So Far Down, Drama, Rising, Ponder, One Day and a brand new song that remains as yet untitled.
"Sometimes I like to leave a little spontenaity in the studio." Said lead vocalist Vyan. "Most of our songs are basically hyper-rehearsed, but having one song still left open to last minute ideas and inspiration can be both nerve racking and fun. Being in the moment, especially if it's the moment when a lyric finally clicks can perfectly defines the emotion your expressing and can really help to capture a vocal that is fresh and on the edge. It's very tough to capture that moment again once it's gone".
As soon as the remaining guitar tracks are completed over the next couple of weeks, recording of lead and backing vocals by Vyan, Jason and drummer/producer Mark Allen should follow in early April, pushed back from the original mid-March timeline. Release of the completed CD on the brand new independant label Resonance Records remains on target for this Summer. "I can't wait until it's all done and we can finally get the disc out there" Vyan continues " it seems like it's been forever, but I also understand that it all needs to be done right, and being hasty and haphazard isn't our style. Our fans deserve better - they deserve the best! They've been extremely patient".
Recording for the Debut CD by Northern California Alternate Metal Band GliTCHeD proceeded on scheduled during February. Initial scratch tracks, intended to lock-in the bass and drums were recorded at Mark Allen's Girth Sound Studios.
Tracks for ten all original songs were laid down, with some bass corrections for Elias Longoria planned over the next week or so. Then in early March, Jason Pate and Dave Thornhill will be coming into the studio to lay down the guitars. "We expect to use as many as 6 total guitar tracks [to thicken up the sound], which will leave about 9 tracks for [lead and backing] vocals" said drummer/producer Allen.
Recording of the vocal tracks with singer Vyan should begin in Mid-March and some early mixes available soon afterward. The release of the full length CD by GliTCHeD remains scheduled for Summer 2004 thru the bands own Independant Label - tentatively named Resonance Records.
Today is the scheduled date to begin principle recording for the As Yet Untitled Debut CD from Northern California metal band GLITCHED in their brand new private studio, located in the home of dummer Mark Allen.
