Swallow the Sun announced their followup to an exicting US tour with Katatonia and Scar Symmetry to commence in November. They will be joining Amorphis and Insomnium on an European tour this fall! The tour will take them through 6 countries and 16 shows before returning to Finland for a concert at Nosturi in Helsinki.

Finnish metallers AMORPHIS have set "Silent Waters" as the title of their upcoming album. Prior to its release, the title track will be issued as a CD single in Finland and as a download single worldwide. Like its predecessor "Eclipse", the new CD will be thematically based on an episode from Finland's national epic, the "Kalevala".
The new CD was recorded at Sonic Pump studios in Helsinki, Finland. Mixing duties were handled by Mikko Karmila (NIGHTWISH, STRATOVARIUS) at Finnvox studios.

The German/ Norwegian sextet MIDNATTSOL have been official confirmed to play at the 2007 edition of the Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig, Germany. Festival details are still being sorted out, but AMORPHIS, MOONSPELL, PRIMORDIAL, KRYPTERIA, CREMATORY and HAGGARD are also due to perform.

British Doom masters CATHEDRAL are scheduled to appear at Finland`s Helldone Festival. The festival will take place at the Tavastia Club in Helsinki from December 29th to 31st. Alongside CATHEDRAL, labelmates AMORPHIS plus acts such as HIM, KATATONIA and ANATHEMA will rock the house.

AMORPHIS' latest album, "Eclipse", was issued in a limited vinyl edition in a deluxe gatefold sleeve by Black Lodge Records under worldwide license from Nuclear Blast Records.
The follow-up to 2003's "Far from the Sun", "Eclipse" was recorded at Sonic Pump studios in Helsinki with engineer Nino Laurenne (THUNDERSTONE). The production duties were handled by the band and Marco Hietala (NIGHTWISH) for vocals. The mixing was taken care of by Mikko Karmila (who previously worked with the group on their "Am Universum" CD) at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki.
A new posting has gone up on the band’s official website…"Following their appearance at Scooprock Festival in Mikkeli on Friday, September 15th, Amorphis will play a one-off club gig at Nosturi in Helsinki on Saturday, September 16th. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, July 21st.”

MANNHAI, the Finnish group whose current lineup includes singer Pasi Koskinen (ex-AMORPHIS, AJATTARA), have uploaded their video for the song "Spaceball" at this location. The clip was directed and edited by Jari Koskinen, while the colors and graphic editing were handled by Jukka Mikander.
"Spaceball" comes off MANNHAI's latest CD, "Hellroad Caravan", which was released in continental Europe on Monday (June 26) via Dockyard 1. The CD, which was issued in Finland on February 15, was recorded at Jive Studios in Helsinki and was described by the band as "heavier and more guitar-driven" than the group's previous album, 2004's "The Exploder".
The "Spaceball" single entered Finland's national single chart at position No. 1 back in January.

AMORPHIS' video for their new single, "House of Sleep", has been posted online at NuclearBlast.de (Real Media). The single, which recently entered the Finnish single chart at position No. 1, comes off the group's new album, "Eclipse", due on February 17 via Nuclear Blast Records. A pre-release listening session for "Eclipse" will be held at NightLife Rock Club in Helsinki (Helsinginkatu 25) on Friday, February 3 at 9:00 p.m. The cover artwork for "Eclipse" was created by Travis Smith, who is renowned for his collaborations with OPETH, ANATHEMA, KATATONIA, ICED EARTH and numerous others. The follow-up to last year's "Far from the Sun" was recorded at Sonic Pump studios in Helsinki with engineer Nino Laurenne (THUNDERSTONE). The production duties were handled by the band and Marco Hietala (NIGHTWISH) for vocals. Jeff Walker of Carcass will be releasing an album of country cover songs ranging from Johnny Cash to Hank Williams. For the album, entitled "Welcome to Carcass Cuntry", Walker has enlisted the help of friends from bands such as Napalm Death, Amorphis, Faith No More, The Hellacopters, and his own band, Carcass.
"Welcome to Carcass Cuntry" will be released late Februrary or late March 2006 through Transmitter Records.
