Amorphis Nominated For MTV Europe Music Awards
Finland's Amorphis has issued the following brief update about being nominated for the 2010 edition of the MTV Europe Music Awards:
"Amorphis has been nominated in the Best Finnish Act category of the MTV Europe Music Awards 2010. Please cast your vote by clicking the Vote button for Amorphis on the MTV EMA website! Voting ends on November 4. The Europe Music Awards gala will be staged in Madrid on November 7."

Amorphis Enters The Recording Studio
Finnish metal act Amorphis has entered Sonic Pump Studios in Helsinki to record the band's tenth studio album, which is set to be released in 2011. The band has created a new blog at this location which will chronicle the recording process. Additional details on the album's track listing, title, and release date will be announced as they are made available.
Amorphis Confirmed For Radio Rock Cruise
Finland's Amorphis has issued the following announcement about performing at the upcoming Radio Rock Cruise in February, 2011:
"Amorphis will perform on the Radio Rock Cruise on M/S Baltic Princess between Helsinki and Tallinn on February 12-13, 2011. Other bands aboard include Mokoma and Apulanta. Tickets are now available from this location."

Amorphis Confirms Festival Appearance
Finnish progressive metallers Amorphis have announced their participation in the upcoming 2010 edition of the Aalborg Metal Festival. Aalborg Metal Festival 2010 is set to take place November 5-6, 2010 at Studenterhuset in Aalborg, Denmark. Other notable acts scheduled to appear include Immolation, Napalm Death, Katatonia and Pestilence.

Amorphis Announces Finnish Club Shows
To round off the band's 20th Anniversary year, Amorphis will play seven shows in major Finnish cities in December. In line with the upcoming "Magic & Mayhem" album, the set list will consist of material from the band’s early years. The shows in Seinäjoki, Oulu, and Tampere will be opened by Ensiferum. Amorphis Bassist Guests On New Hexfire Album
Poland's Hexfire has announced that Amorphis bassist Niclas Etelavuori has provided a guest bass track on the band's upcoming album. Hexfire vocalist Jacob Liszko commented on the guest appearance:
"Having a guest bass track on our album from such a legendary bassist is a real honor for us! We’re so proud. I do like Niclas’ style and what he has done with the song. The bass track is amazing. It’s so powerful, melodic and sounds very metal! That is what we needed exactly. I must say a big thank to you, Niclas! You’re a legend!"
Amorphis Announces "Tales From The Early Years"
Finland's Amorphis has issued the following announcement about releasing a re-recorded album consisting of early songs in the band's career:
"To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Amorphis, the band has re-recorded a selection of classic tracks for a special retrospective. Magic & Mayhem – Tales From The Early Years will be in stores September 17 (Finland: September 15) and features songs originally released between 1991 and 1996. The track listing can be found in the Discography section. Both CD (Digipak) and LP (gatefold 180g blue vinyl) are now available for pre-order from the Amorphis Webshop."

Amorphis Changes Show Venue
Finland's Amorphis has issued the following update about changing an upcoming show venue and adding a new tour date:
"The Copenhagen show on November 5 has been moved from Pumpehuset to Amager Bio. Also playing at this show will be Danish Metallica tribute band Metallic Jam. Tickets for Pumpehuset will not be valid for Amager Bio, but complete refunds will be paid through Billetlugen. Tickets for the Amager Bio show are now available from Billetnet at a cheaper price. On September 10, Amorphis will play a a show at Puikkari in Kuopio (FI)."

Amorphis Comments On DVD Chart Position
Finnish act Amorphis has issued the following update about the band's new DVD "Forging the Land of Thousand Lakes" hitting #1 in the Finnish charts:
"After originally entering the Finnish DVD charts at #8, Forging The Land Of Thousand Lakes climbed to the top a week later and still resides at number 1 in its third chart week. Other current chart positions are #33 in England and #46 in Germany. Thanks to everyone who has bought the DVD!"

Amorphis Announces DVD Release Party
Finnish metallers Amorphis have issued the following announcement about a release show for their upcoming DVD "Forging The Land Of Thousand Lakes:"
"The release party for Forging The Land Of Thousand Lakes will be hald at Cinema Andorra (Eerikinkatu 11) in Helsinki on Tuesday, July 6 at 7 pm. Tickets are available from Levykauppa X (Arkadiankatu 14). Included in the ticket price (35 €) is a Special Edition DVD package signed by the whole band!"
The DVD is set to be released on July 9th in Europe and August 10th in North America.

Amorphis Announces Support Acts for European Tour
Amorphis has announced fellow Finns Ghost Brigade and Israel's Orphaned Land as support acts for the second leg of the Forging Europe Tour in November. Ghost Brigade will not play at the first two shows in Denmark but join the tour on November 7 in Hamburg, Germany.

Amorphis Cancels Upcoming Live Show
Finnish metallers Amorphis have canceled their previously scheduled appearance on April 24th in Lapland. The band issued the following brief statement about about the cancellation: "Lapland show canceled. The gig at Hullu Poro Areena in Levi/Lapland scheduled for Saturday, April 24 has to be canceled because of logistic problems. Tickets will be refunded."

Amorphis To Appear In Music Documentary
Amorphis has checked in with the following statement about appearing in a documentary about the Finnish metal scene:
"A new movie about the Finnish metal scene, Rautaa rajan taa, has its premiere in Helsinki tomorrow (Friday, April 16). The documentary sheds a humorous light on the export of Finnish music, featuring comments from both musicians and politicians. Bands interviewed on the road include Amorphis, who are also liberally featured by way of live clips and backstage impressions. More info on the movie (currently available in Finnish only) can be found here. And speaking of gigging abroad, Amorphis have been confirmed for Arvika Festivalen in Sweden on June 16."
