Edguy singer Tobias Sammet has posted the following message on the band's official web site:
"Hi there people, It's been quite a while since we talked. But just because you don't get any news doesn't mean that we are being lazy these days. We had a little summer break, which meant some of us have been on vacation and some of us have been working on new material. Anyway, we rehearsed some new stuff and it sounds great, but you're gonna get the chance to check it out next year, I think we're gonna be ready to enter the studio in spring 2005. The first stuff sounds — in my opinion — really pompous, flamboyant and bombastic, but of course that'll be a matter of arrangements. Of course there are some whimpy pussy mid tempo pop-metal like 'Holy Water' ideas as well!
"Anyway, now we are doing the final preparations for the forthcoming leg of
the tour that will lead us to North- Central- and South America. New tourdates have also been posted. The reason why we always wait so long with posting new tourdates is that we wanna try to avoid posting dates that are not confirmed by our side yet. Unfortunately some dates as for example in Chile had been ready for confirmation and then been cancelled by the local promoter due to private reasons. Whatever the reasons are, we wish him all the best and hope that our German agency will find a way and come up with postponed dates in Chile. Mexico had been postponed as well, but it seems that shows will happen there in the middle of October.
"For all our German Fans: We have made a last minute decision to play an end-of-tour-show (actually the tour will go on, but not in Germany.) to say thank you for your loyalty. It's gonna be on the 27th of November in our hometown of Fulda at the Kreuz-Club. Just hopping on stage, plug in and play for two hours, maybe we're gonna get the chance to play some stuff that we didn't play on tour. However, tickets are gonna be available for 15,- Euro from the 20th of September on, for tickets dial: +49 661 240230. So, that's it for now, I gotta go back working on my little keyboard and come up with some melodies that are in the back of my head."

Sweden's TAD MOROSE are hard at work practicing for the bands upcoming Scandinavian tour with EDGUY and labelmates NOCTURNAL RITES. Meanwhile, singer Urban breed checks in with the following update, "The video for 'Anubis', is almost finished. It won't be long now, as all that is needed is for me to paint another few textures and we're practically there. We're also working on a medley for our September Atlanta ProgPower V appearance. This because we have so much we want to play and so little time. It will be an all out Andrén-era medley to satisfy the needs of our long time fans." Tad Morose's latest release, Modus Vivendi , was released in the U.S. by Century Media earlier this year.
EDGUY guitarist Dirk Sauer recently spoke to Lords Of Metal about the resurgence of interest in traditional heavy metal in parts of Europe.
"At the moment the TV stations in Europe are more friendly towards heavy metal bands," he said. "A couple of years ago a video would be shown once or twice, but it is getting much better. In Germany we got another late night hard rock show and I have heard that the same thing has happened in the Netherlands and Scandinavia — music stations are getting back to metal. That is a good thing. I guess that we really have the nu metal movement to thank for an increased interest in bands like EDGUY, even though that might seem ironic at first. Five years ago bands like KORN and LIMP BIZKIT started getting on the radio and TV. I think that we now have reached a time when fans and TV executives start looking for the kind of music that those bands are routed in. This is something that can be profitable for bands like us, bands who have always stayed true to this type of traditional heavy metal."

In addition to the full set, fans can expect a sneak preview of Jon Oliva's "Tage Mahal."
"I'm really excited about this show," said Stevens. "The last time I did a full show with these guys was at the PopComm Festival in Germany 1999. I've been waiting for the right time for us to get together. That time has come and where better than the ProgPower festival?" More...
The Swedish Power Metal fortress NOCTURNAL RITES announces the release of their sixth studio album "New World Messiah" on March 24th 2004. This brilliant new forged piece of steel was produced in their hometown Umea. For the mixdown and mastering they left Sweden for the first time to get a glorious sound from Finnvox Studio in Helsinki, Finland. The man behind the desk was T.T. Oksala who recently did a great job for bands like Tiamat, Apocalyptica and other stars of the global Rock empire. A warm and powerful sound was ensured by Minerva Pappi, one of the finest female mastering engineers currently in the business. Once more the five defenders of true metal deliver finest melodic, bombast Power Metal garnished with delicious chorus lines.
Directly after the release of "New World Messiah" the band will head out April 2nd 2004 for a massive European tour together with EDGUY and BRAINSTORM. Label mates TAD MOROSE, recently released the highly acclaimed "Modus Vivendi", will replace Brainstorm for the last five shows in Scandinavia.
