Today the band has released a lyric video for new single "In Spite of Hindrances." Check it out below. Prong founder Tommy Victor comments:
"Prong is excited to announce a new single and lyric video for the song 'In Spite Of Hindrances,' from our 'X - No Absolutes' album. You can follow and absorb the strong words, which celebrate overcoming obstacles, taking initiative and personal responsibility. Watch it first thing in the morning and throughout the day and night!"
Prong spent the better part of October and November trekking through Europe with Obituary, Exodus and King Parrot as part of the "Battle Of The Bays" tour. The trek will finish off the run with some select shows alongside Exodus and King Parrot, a headline show in Karlsruhe, and the Bang Your Head Festival in Luxembourg. More...
The Bay Area thrash titans from Exodus are hugely pleased to announce they will be returning to the U.K. as part of the colossal "Battle Of The Bays" European tour in October 2016, alongside famed Florida death metal squad Obituary.
Support will come from influential NYC groove crossover metallers Prong and Australian wrecking machine King Parrot.
The U.K. dates will see this rampageous assembly visit London, Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham – culminating with a show in Southampton.
Steve Zetro Sousa comments: "Myself and the rest of Exodus are absolutely excited about going out on tour with Obituary, Prong and King Parrot. What a heavy fucking show!!!! Both Obituary and Prong are solid, legendary bands that have solidified themselves in our genre, and King Parrot has us all turning our heads on what to expect from heavy metal in the future. We can't wait to see you all in the pit on such an epic, heavy tour!! Look out Europe you've been warned!!"

Prong will release new album "X - No Absolutes" on February 5th via SPV/Steamhammer and today second single "Cut and Dry" comes online. The band comments:
"I think you'll find our new single 'Cut And Dry' one of the most hard hitting and intense tracks Prong has ever released. It surely represents the pummeling fashion of our newest full-length album 'X - No Absolutes' which is released next week, February 5th.
"It's also the first track we've ever done that has a dueling solo, where Dane Markanson of Glass Cloud and I trade riffs. I believe the lyric is timely, in accordance with 'No Absolutes,' addressing a climate of total insecurity. Check out this sharp new Prong. 'Cut And Dry.' It dices and slices!" More...

Prong today reveals the track listing for upcoming album "X - No Absolutes" that will drop on February 5th, 2016. Founder, vocalist and guitarist Tommy Victor also comments about the album:
"Prong is excited about the upcoming release of our tenth studio release of new material, 'X - No Absolutes.' It seems as though our recent records keep getting better and this new recording definitely appears to be a testament to this. Prong has maintained aggression while tackling the challenge of creating classic songs and anthems in the past, but we have gone even a step further with this mentality on 'No Absolutes.' Here you will find a collection of riff intensified crushers, furious barn burners, and fist pumping sing-a-longs.
"Also, this record exhibits even more technical proficiency, showing progress again on all fronts. We feel the listener needs to be excited about every lyric, performance, sound, etc. for the duration of the record. This record throws a powerful punch, yet we feel it to be memorable and in demand of future listens with it's energy, strong production and overall catchiness.
"Our themes on this record will certainly inspire some thought. Whether it be a dose of self discovery, a dialogue of a personal challenge or a viscous finger pointing at what we believe to be a falsehood, those attentive to messages and lyrics in general will be supplied. And we feel they will be compelled to shout aloud with, mimic a riff, sing along or cry out in pain with 'Prong X - No Absolutes!'" More...
After a self-prescribed hiatus, 2012 saw Prong blow the hinges off the door with the release of "Carved Into Stone." Seemingly out of nowhere, Tommy Victor and company managed to combine all the previous elements of the band's formula: thrash, hardcore, industrial metal, etc. with a new urgency and angst that struck a deep nerve with the band's loyal fan-base and beyond.
The band marched onwards with 2014's "Ruining Lives," which spawned a number of instant classics. This was followed by Prong's cover album "Songs From The Black Hole."
After a headline tour, it was straight back to the studio for another album. Just days after mixing was completed, Prong went on the road with Danzig and SuperJoint Ritual in North America and released the first single "Ultimate Authority" on the day the tour began.
"X - No Absolutes" is Prong's defining moment, with Tommy Victor mentioning that "sequencing the album was a difficult task; every song is so strong in it's own way."
Again produced by Tommy Victor, this time with trusted collaborator Chris Collier as co-producer and engineer, "X - No Absolutes" also broadens the horizon sonically. The new album will be released through SPV/Steamhammer on February 5, 2016 as digipak (incl. bonus track+poster), 2 LP Gatefold version (coloured vinyl, CD in paper sleeve) and download. More...
Just a few weeks ago, Prong announced a new studio album "Prong - X (No Absolutes)" to be released world wide January 29, 2016 through Steamhammer/SPV. Today, the band is announcing a full string of North American headline dates for 2016.
Tommy Victor had this to say: "Prong is doing a nice run of shows covering North America starting April 21, 2016 in support of our upcoming release 'Prong X - No Absolutes.' If you missed us on the Danzig/Superjoint tour or if we bypassed your locale, you can then experience a full set packed with all the faves new and old!" More...
Glenn Danzig started his Blackest of the Black tour over a decade ago in 2003. I caught it first in 2005 when he toured with Mortiis, Behemoth (among others) and what I believe was the first appearance of Doyle performing Misfits songs with Danzig. While this year’s lineup isn’t the “blackest,” that distinction goes to the last Blackest of the Black tour in 2010 when he took out Marduk and Possessed, Superjoint and Prong were solid acts nonetheless at this showing at Stubb’s in Austin.
Although they don’t carry the name recognition of a Phil Anselmo or Tommy Victor, openers Witch Mountain put on an impressive performance. The Portland-based doom act were in the news a year ago when longtime singer Uta Plotkin left the group and they hired 19-year-old Kayla Dixon as replacement. Dixon’s performance certainly showed she was up for the task this night. Her range was excellent. Whether she sang in a soaring almost R & B type voice or a death metal growl, her vocals were spot on. The rest of the band’s tones sounded great in their down tempo dirges. Even though there was only about 50 people in the crowd during their set, those in attendance seemed to show their approval. Touring with a big name like Danzig has to be doing wonders for their career.
Prong's new studio album "X (No Absolutes)" is due to be released worldwide January 29, 2016 through Steamhammer/SPV.
The first digital single, titled "Ultimate Authority," is out today to coincide with the kick off of Prong's North American tour supporting Danzig. You can hear the new single at Spotify here.
Prong's Tommy Victor comments: "There's no stopping. More songs were written and we recorded a powerful follow up to 'Carved Into Stone' and 'Ruining Lives.' We are real excited about this new one and it's nice that we have 'Ultimate Authority' out just in time for this tour." More...

"Prong is very excited about the upcoming release of our new record, 'Songs From The Black Hole,'" says frontman Tommy Victor. "We are equally excited about the artwork and packaging."
Victor continues, "With the help of our art director Mike Lopez, the theme of urban decay, desolation, insecurity and ultimate change that prevails in the music has been brought to the surface in images. Since much of Prong's origins come from a place of abandonment, we feel our new album artwork fully reflects this sentiment."

The final bands have now been announced for this year's edition of the Bloodstock Festival, which takes place from August 7th - 10th (get ticket info and other details over here). The organizers of the festival comment:
"The ‘Metal 2 The Masses’ finals have rocked to a conclusion and some more lucky young bands are joining the New Blood stage at Catton Park next month, plus there's a few last additions for the Sophie and Jagermeister stages.
"Balls Deep bring their trad groove metal to the Sophie Lancaster stage. The Brit outfit have been busy honing their ‘Pro-Pain cut with Black Sabbath’ sound, coming on like the bastard sons of Pantera and classic heavy metal.
"Over on the Jagermeister stage, female-fronted power metallers Aceldama will be impressing allcomers with their high octane performance and audience interaction, while New Blood stage stoner rocker’s Resin will be offering an additional acoustic spin on their new material.
"Meanwhile, the New Blood stage welcomes the last clutch of winners from the last batch of M2TM roadshow finals. Goat Leaf bring their doom groove from the Sheffield heats, Oakhaart’s tech death noise hails from Gloucestershire, impressing judges at the Bristol event, Sinpathetic grace us with their death metal from the Preston night, Eradikator’s thrash metal won out in Birmingham, and lastly but not least, Cacodaemonic's unholy, neo-classical infused death metal represents Nottingham."
