Prong Posts "State Of Emergency" Lyric Video
This Friday, October 6, 2023, Prong's new album, "State of Emergency," hits the streets!
To celebrate their eagerly anticipated 13th release, Tommy Victor and the guys have shared a new music video for the album's title track, following up previous acclaimed singles "Breaking Point", "Non Existence" and "The Descent".
With heavy metal perfection, "State of Emergency" shows off this quintessential band's unique blend of thrashy, punky, face ripping rock — emblematic of what the entire record has to offer.
Tommy comments on the track: "The title track 'State of Emergency' is a bit of a classic PRONG style groove metal track but heavier. It features the last lyric written for the album. I wanted a song that summarized some of the other lyrics. One that would direct the cover art as well. What we get is this depiction of the Orwellian, dystopian reality we are facing. It’s all rather dark, threatening and heavy." More...
Prong Releases "The Descent" Music Video
Prong will make their eagerly anticipated return with the impending release of their 13th studio album, "State Of Emergency," out October 6, 2023 via Steamhammer / SPV, Today, following their brutally honest latest singles "Breaking Point" and "Non Existence", the heavy metal cornerstones unveil their follow up entitled, "The Descent," accompanied by a new music video.
The track is a perfect blend of that impeccable recipe of punk, metal and thrash that makes up Prong's signature sound, and shows Tommy Victor and the boys are primed and ready to tear some faces off with "State of Emergency!"
About the new single, "The Descent", Prong's main man had this to say,
"'The Descent' has a narrative of isolation, confusion, and hopelessness due to the intervention of the media." More...
Prong To Release New Album In October
It has been four, long, rollercoaster years since heavy metal stalwarts Prong released their acclaimed "Age of Defiance" EP, and this fall, they make their eagerly anticipated return with the release of their 13th studio album, "State Of Emergency," out October 6, 2023 via Steamhammer / SPV.
Unlike many other contemporary metal bands, Prong are respected for their down-to-earth attitude, hard driving stamina and familial bond with their devoted fans - which they have garnered continuously throughout their 40-year history. 'State of Emergency' shines as a triumphant return for the band, as well as a furious tableau of East Coast aggression, clothed in that classic PRONG sound that never goes out of style.
The album‘s first official single, "Non-Existence," is a perfect picture of its overall sound. On the track, Prong founder Tommy Victor comments; "’Non-Existence,‘ with its techno-style noise guitar that‘s omnipresent on this album, is a bit like my retrospective glance at ’Rude Awakening.‘" More...
Prong Shares New Single "Breaking Point"
Like few other contemporary metal bands, Prong are synonymous with a down-to-earth attitude, stamina and a close bond with their fans. It's been a long wait since the release of 2019’s Age Of Defiance EP, but now, that wait is over. Today, the band has premiered an unrelentingly heavy new song, entitled "Breaking Point”, marking their anticipated return with a vengeance.
Prong originator Tommy Victor on the new single: "The origins of the song happened during the waning part of the pandemic. I have to admit that I came up with the main riff while we were out on the Black Label Society tour. I guess that would make sense to some. There was so much insecurity going on. What we were told kept changing. The crowds on that tour were so intense. It seemed like everyone was just sweating out all this frustration. Everyone was just fed up. I think that sentiment has remained and even grown with a lot of people. It’s a 'general frustration in the world' type song."
He adds about the track's sound: "I’ve been getting back into these heavy, solid, mean riffs. I think moving back to New York has helped with these. I’m really happy where I’m at all around. I think it’s coming across in the new songs and showing a rejuvenated attitude." More...

As previously reported, Black Label Society has a new album coming out this month. A video for the fifth track on the album has been released. Check out "End of Days" here.
The current U.S. tour with Obituary and Prong rages on through November 28.

Frontman Tommy Victor says: "‘End Of Sanity’ is a thrash/hardcore/crossover number in typical Prong style which I wrote especially for our American tour with Agnostic Front. If you’re into Prong, you’ll love this track." More...
Prong To Release New EP Next Month
Like few other contemporary metal bands, Prong are synonymous with a down-to-earth attitude, stamina and a close bond with their fans.
"Since the beginning of our career, we’ve done almost everything ourselves," guitarist, vocalist and band founder Tommy Victor looks back at the group’s intense and extremely strenuous early phase in the 1980s. "Not only did we write songs and record albums, we also managed the band, looked after the merchandise, sent demos to clubs and booked vans. Then there were a few years with record companies and agencies involved to support us. Today we’re back to the beginning, we’ve come full circle."
The latest feat proves Prong’s great commitment: A new EP, available on Digi-CD and 12" vinyl, featuring two brand-new studio recordings and three live cuts, will be out on Steamhammer/SPV from November 29. The EP’s title is "Age Of Defiance." The digital single, "End Of Sanity" will arrive on October 25 to herald this thoroughly accomplished recording. More...
