Houston's instru-metalists Scale the Summit will embark on a short run of dates starting on June 16th. These are the band's first live shows since headlining the inaugural Prosthetic Records' showcase at Austin's South By Southwest in March, where they debuted a brand new song. Guitarist Chris Letchford commented, "We're really excited about this short headlining run out to the 'Make Music Pasadena' festival in southern California. We have been at home writing for a couple months now after the BTBAM/Cynic/Devin Townsend tour ended earlier this year. Prosthetic Records is currently auctioning an Epiphone Prophecy Futura Custom EX on eBay, with all proceeds benefitting the T.J. Martell Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports research for cancer, AIDS and leukemia. The guitar will be signed by the six Prosthetic acts who will play the label's inaugural SXSW showcase at Mohawk in Austin, Texas on Wednesday night (Mar. 17): Scale The Summit, Landmine Marathon, Withered, Book of Black Earth, The Funeral Pyre and Clinging To The Trees of a Forest Fire.
The T.J. Martell Foundation was recommended to Prosthetic by the management of legendary vocalist Ronnie James Dio, who was diagnosed with stomach cancer late last year. A 501(c)3 non-profit founded in the 1970s, the Foundation has helped Dio receive key treatment in his
ongoing battle against cancer. More information on the organization can be found at www.tjmartellfoundation.org.
Prosthetic was honored to receive these words of encouragement directly from Dio himself shortly after the auction went live on Monday:
"It's great to be a part of your wonderful charitable event, and all the caring performers who are giving of themselves to aid the charity of my choice. My current misfortune has opened my eyes to the constant need for funds to battle the ravages of cancer, and I am therefore pleased to endorse your efforts to auction off an Epiphone guitar signed by the aforementioned musicians to benefit the T.J.Martell Cancer Foundation. Let's hope a generous amount of money can be raised for this ultra-worthy cause. Thanks so much for you concern and humanity. It's a gesture of kindness I will never forget.
Love and Magic to you all,
Ronnie James Dio"

Guitarist Chris Letchford commented: "We're touring with Between The Buried And Me, Cynic and Devin Townsend! We have been wanting to tour with Between The Buried And Me for years now. The second I heard news of Cynic reforming and hearing their amazing new album, I never thought a package like this would come together, very glad their back! Then there is Devin Townsend. The last time I saw Devin play was with Strapping Young Lad when I was 16, which was over 9 years ago! Never would have thought we'd tour together. This tour is not one you'll want to miss. Best tour of 2010 by far!"

Scale The Summit has cancelled the remainder of their current tour. Here's a statement from guitarist Chris Letchford:
"Due to unsolved van problems this late in the tour we have been forced to drop off our current tour with God Is An Astronaut. We would like to apologize to all of the clubs, promoters, our booking agency, and of course all of our fans that planned on coming to see us play. Its a bummer, being our first tour! We'll be touring again for sure. I think we are going to take this time to get the next album finished for Prosthetic Records.
"It started on the way down from Kansas and got worse. We stopped in OK on our day off and the Machanic shop we went to had no time. We struggled to make it to SXSW and did, and played the hell out of it.

We'll be back in SXSW in about a week for some more good shredding fun. On our way to Dallas for our day off. Little Rock on Saturday! Until next time..." More...
