Texas progressive instrumentalists Scale the Summit are proud to reveal guitarist Chris Letchford's Signature Strandberg BODEN CL7 guitar. The production-series guitar was designed to Letchford's exact specifications and is currently available for sale through this location.
Letchford will promote the guitar by making several appearances at the upcoming NAMM festival, including signings at the Strandberg, Jackson and EMG Pickups booths -- the latter of which will also feature bassist Mark Michell, who will be promoting the release of his new instructional book for right-hand bass techniques.
In other Scale the Summit news, the group recently finished recording for upcoming release, "The Migration," with producer Jamie King (BTBAM, He Is Legend, For Today) at Basement Studios in Winston-Salem, N.C.
The album, tentatively set for a late spring/early summer release, will be the band's third album through Prosthetic and the follow-up to 2011's "The Collective." More...

As previously announced, instrumental adventurists Scale the Summit will soon head out to take on the vast jungles of America shred-by-shred on their upcoming headlining tour “Adventure Metal Across America,” on which they'll be supported by Today I Caught The Plague. “Been a lot going on in the Scale The Summit camp since we got home from our first headlining tour in February! First I’m very excited announce our new 'Adventure Metal Across America Tour!' Its our second headlining tour this year for 'The Collective,' hitting a lot of the cities we missed on the first one. For those of you who came out the first one one, we’ll be mixing up our entire 80 minute set with different songs! Really excited to be bringing out Today I Caught The Plague, great progressive band from Toronto, currently out on the road with our buddies in Protest The Hero and Periphery!

Fresh from a national headlining tour, the Houston-based instrumental quartet Scale the Summit, whose latest album "The Collective" recently saw a vinyl release, will co-headline the Fauxchella Music & Art Festival and Fundraiser in Bridgeport, Conn. on April 21st. Scale the Summit will also perform at two other festivals in the band's home state this week -- The Big Spill in San Antonio, and South By Southwest (SXSW) in Austin. At the latter, the band will play three times over two days, capped off by a performance at the Prosthetic Records showcase at Valhalla tomorrow night (March 16).

Prosthetic Records has announced details of the label's second ever official South By Southwest (SXSW) showcase at this year's conference in Austin, TX. The show will take place on Friday, March 16th at Valhalla (located at 710 Red River and formerly known as Room 710) and kicks off at 8 p.m. The lineup is as follows:

Houston progressive instrumentalists Scale the Summit are currently leveling stages across the U.S. on their first ever headlining tour with support provided by Elitist. Dubbed "Their Strings Are Voices" tour 2012, the trek is a week and a half in.
Commented guitarist Chris Letchford from the road: “Our Their Strings Are Voices headlining tour has been a blast so far. It’s great to see everyone really excited about us playing an 80-minute set and still want more when we're finished! Looking forward to the next few weeks on this tour!”
Scale the Summit is touring in support of "The Collective," released last year via Prosthetic Records. "The" Collective was recorded in late 2010 at Paint It Black Studios in Orlando, Florida with producer Mark Lewis (Devildriver, All That Remains, The Black Dahlia Murder). Prosthetic Records recently issued "The Collective on vinyl," and the LP — limited to 500 copies on high-quality 180-gram wax — is available now at the Prosthetic Store and features enhanced cover art as well as bonus track, “Redwoods,” initially only available on the Japanese version of the release. By popular demand, Prosthetic Records will soon release "The Collective," the 2011 album by Houston act Scale the Summit, on vinyl. The LP -- limited to 500 copies on high-quality 180-gram wax, and available now for pre-order at the Prosthetic Store – will also feature enhanced cover art. Additionally, it will contain the bonus track "Redwoods," a song recorded during "The Collective" sessions that to date has only been available on the Japanese version of the album.

Los Angeles area natives Elitist will embark on the "Their Strings Are Voices" tour this February with Scale The Summit. Elitist has been tabbed as direct support for the first ever Scale The Summit headline tour.
Bassist Mike Danese commented: "We are beyond thrilled to hit the road with Scale The Summit. These guys are incredible musicians, and it means a lot to have them take us out. We look forward to traveling and sharing our music across the country to a new audience."

The Metal Suckfest -- the 2-day, 20-band, MetalSucks-curated metal festival being held at NYC's Gramercy Theater on November 4th and 5th -- has made a last minute addition to its Day 1 roster: NYC pornogrind act Lake Bukkake will open the fest, prior to headliners Municipal Waste, God Forbid, Today is the Day, Howl, Black Tusk, and many more. Metalsucks commented:
"After months and months and months of negotiations — and by 'negotiations,' we mean 'us pestering and begging them constantly' — the group has FINALLY agreed to emerge from their shell to play the opening set on Day 1 of The Metal Suckfest, one week from today, Friday, November 4. The band will play both I Left My Heart…and 1996's Shut Up it’s Good for Your Complexion in their entirety. (The combined running time of both albums is less than fifteen minutes.)
"They also PROMISED us to debut at LEAST two songs from Chinese Bukkakacy, which they have, indeed, been working on for awhile (although apparently it may not be called that anymore — 'The idea seemed pretty funny in 2006, not so much anymore,' the band told us by e-mail)."

The inaugural Metal Suckfest, a 2-day metal festival set to take place on November 4th and 5th at New York City's Gramercy Theater, has announced four additional bands have been added to the lineup. All Pigs Must Die and This is Hell will appear on Friday, November 4th alongside Municipal Waste, while Three and Last Chance to Reason will open for Cynic on Saturday, November 5th. After a spring tour of the U.S. and Canada, Protest The Hero will return to the U.S. for a three week headline tour running November 28th to December 22nd. MetalSucks has announced the latest batch of bands to appear at The Metal Suckfest, a concert event this fall spanning two days and featuring 20 bands. As previously announced, Municipal Waste will headline the first night, Friday, November 4th, while Cynic will headline the second night, Saturday, November 5th, at NYC's Gramercy Theater.

Indianapolis, Indiana’s The Contortionist is kicking off a co-headlining run with the Slaughter Survivors Tour this Thursday in Hollywood, CA. The tour also features Conducting From The Grave, Scale The Summit, Rings Of Saturn, Volumes, and Structures.
