Wintersun Shines In Sold Out Venue In Cambridge

The last place I ever thought I would see a show was in the middle of the campus of the “elite of society” – Harvard University. Though not confirmed, I had heard that this particular show was the first metal event at the newly opened Sinclair club, which was directly in the heart of the college. I had made the 114 mile trek to the area countless times, however, I don’t recall the traffic being this annoying. When I went to see Wintersun and Eluveitie at Royale in downtown Boston, the trip was nuisance free. But, it was Friday night, and stupidity on the road was nothing new. The area was wrought with college kids, yuppie preps and artsy types, so it was a pleasure to walk around in my Sodom – “Epitome of Torture” shirt, its double meaning was painfully clear. The venue proved to be a rather loose, without any pushy asshole bouncers and the club itself had decent sound. If you have been to the upstairs part of The Palladium in Worcester, imagine it double the size with a much better stage (raised to where you can see), much better lighting and double the upstairs space where you can view the band from just above the floor crowd from all sides/angles. Fleshgod Apocalypse Reveals New Album Details

Italy's symphonic death metal horde Fleshgod Apocalypse will return this August with a new album entitled "Labyrinth."

The album was produced, mixed, and mastered by Stefano Morabito at 16th Cellar Studio. Colin Marks (Origin, Kataklysm) also created the cover artwork, as well as several pieces of art for a massive inlay.

"Labyrinth" will be released August 16th, 2013 in Europe and August 20th, 2013 in North America via Nuclear Blast. Drummer Francesco Paoli commented:

“Labyrinth is going to be THE album for Fleshgod Apocalypse. It's the perfect combination of all our strong points with the best production we've ever had. It's definitely the most Fleshgod thing we've ever thought with the most Fleshgod riffs, lyrics, melodies, drum parts, solos, etc...We went deep inside the core of this music, we broke it, and we finally unleashed these eleven songs. I want to be honest, it needed so much work and time to come up with this but now I'm like, ‘ok next time will be tough to reach this point!’ Honesty and quality pay, always, and all of you guys supporting the band Deserve The Best. You might think that I’m overrating it just because it's our ‘child’ but, trust me, this album is fuckin' dangerous. Just take your time, listen to it and get lost into the Labyrinth.” More...

Fleshgod Apocalypse Working On New Album

Italian symphonic death metal act Fleshgod Apocalypse is currently working on a third full-length with producer Stefano Morabito at 16th Cellar Studio. Cristiano Trionfera (guitar, vocals) states:

"We are tracking guitars now, and the result is amazing... Stefano is nailing it and we know the album will sound incredibly powerful."

Tommaso Riccardi (guitar, vocals) commented: "The concept of this album is based on the myth of the Labyrinth of Knossos and every character related to it. We focused on the philological aspect in order to represent all the elements of the classic world and, through a manic and meticolous research, we managed to create a metaphor with our times, as the maze can be associated with the endless search for what we really are. We're sure you will be stunned by this as much as we are.” More...
