Funeral Fog Call It Quits

Canadian black metal band FUNERAL FOG has officially called it quits.

"Eight years to the day since their inception, the decision was a consensus among all members due to lack of time and various personal issues," reads a statement from the group. "As the fog rolls away and the horns cease to sound, the black metal purists shall drift away into oblivion.

Originally formed as a duo consisting of Krall and Nokturnis, the band released its debut, "Under the Black Veil", in 2003. The album was widely accepted due to its echoing screams reflecting back to Norway's second wave. The group would later grow in members with the addition of drummer Shithammer in 2003, and guitarist Deimus in 2004. After signing to Czech label Long Ago Records the band hit the studio and released a very welcomed second release, "Channelling Ancient Shadows", in July 2007.
