Finnish melodic metal act Winterborn, featuring new Sonata Arctica bassist Pasi Kauppinen, released a new single and music video for the song "Into the Shades of Gray." The single marks the first new material from the band since 2009's "Farewell to Saints." The song was recorded at Studio57 and Hell's Kitchen Studios and was mastered by Svante Forsbäck at Chartmakers. It is available digitally via iTunes and Amazon and streaming via Spotify.

Winterborn has posted a tour diary compilation video online, which can be viewed below. The band also commented:
"We thought it was about time to put out even some kind of a video and we had a lot of video footage from the tour so we thought, what a hell! Let's make a sort of tour diary type of thing. These are the type of videos that we always enjoy watching from our favorite bands. We think it came out the way we wanted. It's really 'raw,' really honest feel type of video.
"Vapola and Koskela did the whole thing from scratch. And it was a lot of fun doing it, re-living the tour at the same time. And when we started doing this, we thought that we really do owe it to the fans to give them some new material musically too. They've been more than patient with us. So we took one of the demo recorded songs for the next album, and used it for this video. We think it fitted the context really nice."
WINTERBORN, the self-proclaimed "coldest Finnish heavy metal band," has announced the addition of bassist Pasi Kauppinen (SILENT VOICES) to the group's ranks.
Commented WINTERBORN guitarist Pasi Vapola: "Kauppinen was a very natural choice for us because he knows the band, the music and all the guys so well and he is absolutely a great player and musician. We're very happy to have him in the band. We did the first album with him and now the second one so he knows the material pretty well and the chemistry between him and the rest of the band is just great. It's great to have a new persona in the band, it really freshes the air and makes it all intresting, the routine and all. And maybe we end up writing songs with Pasi for the next album. At least we have now one more guy in the band who writes music. But he didn't play anything on the record because the decision was made just after we got all the recordings done. So Janne and I played the basses on this next album." More...
