Artillery Posts Studio Footage

Danish thrash act Artillery has just posted a video featuring inside-the-studio footage from the "Legions" recording sessions. Check it out below. "Legions" is due out November 26th (USA), November 22nd (G/A/S) and November 25th (EU) via Metal Blade Records.

Comments Legions producer Soren Andersen: "If you're a hardcore Artillery fan, you won´t be disappointed when you hear the forthcoming album. Classic Artillery, but with new elements. A new drummer, a new singer, 10 new songs, great lyrics, killer riffs etc…

"We did the album in 3 weeks, without looking back. There is so much new energy this time, and the band plays better than ever. One reason: They are touring more than ever. This is a real metal band that plays real music for the right reason. They don't give a damn about the fame, the look or the party… It's all about the music. That's how I see them, and that's the vibe when we are working together.

"The new drummer Jos is a monster drummer with feel, swing, attitude and skills. I find that very giving for the band, and he's a great guy, too. Likewise, Michael fits the band perfectly. His voice is very big and very classic. He has his own perfect spot between Soren and Flemming, and again: Great lyrics! Hope you'll enjoy the album as much as I did in the process of the creation!" Gama Bomb Drops Off U.S. Tour Due To Visa Issues

Irish thrashers Gama Bomb announced that the band is forced to drop off the planned tour of North America from August to September 2013 with Artillery, Bonded By Blood and Fueled By Fire. The reason: delays in securing visas.

"We’re really gutted to have to make this call, but we’ve found ourselves caught in a massive web of red tape and time’s run out to make the tour possible in the way we want it to be," said singer Philly Byrne.

"We’ve been faced with barriers and delays all for months now, and we held off on making this call, but ultimately we’re dealing with big organs of state where there’s no one person you can ring up and make it happen."

"Even worse than all the behind-the-scenes crap that’s gone on, letting our fans down is the hardest thing to stomach. If you bought a ticket for one of these cancelled shows, we’re coming back soon to make it up to you. We’re already working on making it happen."

Bassist Joe McGuigan commented: "We’ve done our best to make this tour happen but unfortunately this whole process is out of our hands. We want to apologize to our friends in Artillery, our brothers in Bonded By Blood, and most of all to all the US thrashers out there."

The tour is set to commence in San Diego on August 21st. More...

Artillery Signs With Metal Blade

Metal Blade welcomes Danish thrashers Artillery to the label's arsenal. Metal Blade issued the following statement:

"Denmark's Artillery is one Europe's earliest thrash metal exports, and their contribution to the bourgeoning genre is difficult to ignore. The Danish quartet successfully managed to fuse an abrasive brutality with technicality and strong melodies, with the noteworthy guitar leads of the Stützer-brothers serving as highlights.

"Artillery was formed in the Copenhagen suburb of Taastrup, Denmark in 1982 by Michael and Morten Stützer. Since then, Artillery have gone thru numerous line-up changes and released six studio LPs. The first period of Artillery's existence gave the world the three classic albums Fear of Tomorrow, Terror Squad and By Inheritance, featuring some of the finest moments of thrash metal Europe has ever put out. Artillery Recruits New Vocalist And Drummer

Artillery has announced that singer Soren Nico Adamsen has left the band in a message on the band's Facebook page:

"Singer Søren Adamsen has decided to leave Artillery for personal reasons. We would like to say thanks for the last 5 years and wish him good luck in the future! The new singer will be Michael Bastholm Dahl. Michael has already played two successful gigs with Artillery in Denmark."

Here in Michael's own words is his statement about joining Artillery:

"One thing I do know - I have been given the opportunity to join the most hard-hitting legendary thrash metal band of all time out of Denmark, which means, I'm going to go out and be the most frantic and hard singing vocalist I can be! And, following the renowned singers prior to me in Artillerys history, it's both a daunting and exciting challenge! I can't freakin' wait to go out and give it 100% together with the guys in Artillery!"

The band goes on to state the following:

"Michael sings and performs with a lot of attitude and really likes the Artillery thrashing style. He will contribute with his own style, but he can sing the classic Artillery songs very close to the original singer and also deliver the hard hitting vocals like Søren did! Just listen to the classic song 'The Almighty' with Michael Bastholm Dahl on vocals, the first song he ever did with Artillery. The song is recorded at Medley studio with producer Søren Andersen." Exumer To Play Rock Hard Festival

German thrashers Exumer have been confirmed to appear at this year's Rock Hard Festival in Milan, Italy on September 15th, 2012. Also on the bill for the festival are Danish thrashers Artillery, who have just come off the co-headlining "South American Damnation" tour with Exumer through Argentina, Chile and Brazil.

Exumer's management is now working on on a European installment of the Exumer/Artillery package and are planning additional dates with both bands throughout Europe in September/October 2012.

Vocalist Mem V. Stein comments: "Our 'South American Damnation' tour was such a success for both bands, us and Artillery, that we did not hesitate to ask our management to replicate the package for Europe. This means that we have to put our North American dates, which were planned for the fall, on hold until spring 2013. There were no alternate time frames to bring both bands back out on the road and we didn't want to risk losing the opportunity altogether to bring the package to Europe."

The line-up for the Rock Hard Festival Italia 2012 features among others Marduk (SE), Bulldozer (IT), Artillery (DK), Exumer (DE), and Immolation (US). More...
