Eluveitie Debuts "Exile Of The Gods" Lyric Video
Relentlessly spinning, the wheel of the year is turning towards darker days. Today, Eluveitie has released a lyric video for their new single "Exile Of The Gods," capturing the desperate, doomy mood of a world that the Gods abandoned long ago. You can check it out below.
Founding member Chrigel Glanzmann commented earlier on the single:
"We are very excited to share our new single 'Exile Of The Gods’ with you - after 'Aidus' the 'second page' in Eluveitie's next chapter. Our current path leads us way back in time. And back to the present! Our new song cycle is all based on a very old mythic text - the hermetic lament. Although it didn’t originate from Celtic culture, we know today that its words were taken on, assimilated, and taught by the Celtic druids henceforth. In the interpretatio celtae it's teachings were ascribed to the tricephalic Celtic god Lugus. This ancient text contains some kind of a prophecy which holds some very serious and important words for us modern people of today - even if we assume that it's not talking about our era (which personally I believe it does, though).
Among many other things that the lament of Lugus foretells: '...of thy faith nothing will remain but an empty tale, which thine own children in time to come will not believe; nothing will be left but graven words, and only the stones will tell of thy piety. For the gods - which once deigned to sojourn upon earth - will return from earth to Antumnos. The gods will depart from mankind, a grievous thing! The world will be left desolate, bereft of the presence of its deities.' And this is, what our new single is dealing with!
"However, that ancient text spells out clearly that we're not simply talking about some mythological, religious or spiritual matters here. For it also talks very clearly about the development of mankind’s relationship with mother earth in that context and points out very concrete actions of ours (today) and their consequences in and for nature, and thus ultimately for us. And so, we are excited to share our brand-new song with you all! And we hope you like it as much as we do and that maybe you even can find some inspiration in it! Enjoy!" More...

Eluveitie Shares New Lyric Video
Last month Eluveitie came back with their new song "Aidus." Today, the band is releasing the brand new lyric video for the track, which has already racked up more than 700 thousand views on YouTube.
Founding member Chrigel Glanzmann comments on the approach:
"Definitely one of the harshest songs of Eluveitie ever. It's the sheer consequence of our spiritual journey with "Ategnatos":
"We're no longer a "Celtic Metal" band... a metal band singing about celtic history. We're Celts playing metal music from all our hearts.
We're no more a "Pagan Metal" band. We are metal music playing pagans from all our hearts, gashing principles of our modern societies with our ancient message like a surgical blade.
"That's probably the best way to describe our new single. Deal with it!" More...

Amorphis And Eluveitie Announce European Tour
With concerts finally returning, the time has come for AMORPHIS and ELUVEITIE to team up for an extensive European Co-Headline Tour kicking off in November 2022.
For more than thirty years, Finnish dark metallers AMORPHIS have done their best to carve their very own niche in heartfelt yet aggressive, melancholic yet soothing tunes. On their latest studio release Halo, which once again hit the Finnish album charts on #1 and German charts on#3, the combo underline their trailblazing status as one of the most original, culturally relevant and rewarding acts ever to emerge from the land of the thousand lakes. With uncounted global tours under their belt and fourteen albums deep in their career, Amorphis still prove to be the musical fountain of youth, an extraordinary band constantly reinventing itself without abandoning its mystical roots.
Amorphis' guitarist Tomi Koivusaari adds: "Halo! We are thrilled to announce our co-headlining European tour with the mighty Eluveitie. We've just released our 14th album 'Halo' and we can't wait to play it and of course stuff from our whole career live for you. Don't miss this, there also might be some more pleasant surprises to the line up later on…"
Eluveitie founding member Chrigel Glanzmann comments on the upcoming tour:
"It hasn't exactly become lighter in this world lately. Nonetheless there is still pleasant and joyful news. We cannot wait to finally start touring again after more than two really weird years. It feels unreal almost!
"As if this isn't enough we're super stoked to announce the line-up of this tour - definitely one of the coolest tour line-ups in our entire career. Being on the road together with dear friends and some of our personal all-time favourite bands - that's really just more than I expected! We can't wait to see you all again!”
Tickets go on sale on April 4, 2022, 9am BST.

Lacuna Coil Unleashes The Black Anima In Bristol
It's truly wonderful how many bridges can be built in the realm of metal music. People from all walks of life and countries join together to celebrate the music we love and have a good time and tonight was no different. Three bands from across mainland Europe have come together and put together a tour that no one lucky enough to attend will soon forget, as Lacuna Coil, Eluveitie and Infected Rain joined forces to give headbangers one hell of a show, which was demonstrated perfectly on a cold night in Bristol.
Opening the night, almost as soon as the door opened, was Moldova's own, Infected Rain. After being independent for a while, the band released their first album through a label this year, the superb, "Endorphin," the doors are swinging open for this powerful quintet. Many opening bands struggle on a tour such as this to win over the crowd, but Infected Rain did so with incredible ease tonight. Frontwoman Elena "Lena Scissorhands" Cataraga possesses amazing talent, delivering one of the most flawless vocal performances I've ever seen, while working the crowd to perfection. It was a relatively short set, but a memorable one, which is sure to have won over plenty of new fans. Next time Infected Rain are in the UK, it's sure to be one which will see them perform in front of many of their own fans. More...

Eluveitie Posts New Album Trailer Online
We all wade through archetypes. We all ARE archetypes. Distant echoes of a life both primeval and noble. To embrace these archetypes, to accept them not only as a part of life but as life itself is what some may call enlightenment, some peace of mind. Eluveitie call it Ategnatos. And by using their longest gap between two metal albums to gather momentum, they just forged their strongest album around it. The new album, Ategnatos, will be released on April 5th via Nuclear Blast. Check out the first official video trailer below.
The band states: "Ategnatos probably became our most organic album by all accounts. It is the result of a thoroughly intuitive process, where we gave creativity full scope. And during this process quite some back-to-the-roots developments emerged in diverse aspects. Many riffs off Ategnatos reminds on the guitar work on Slania.
"Following our gut feeling we brought the mixing duties back to Jens Bogren's Fascination Street Studios, where our Nuclear Blast debut was produced. And regarding the album artwork it soon became very clear to us, that we'd love to work with the fabulous Travis Smith (www.seempieces.com) again, who already created the front covers of our albums Spirit (14 years ago!) and Everything Remains As It Never Was. And we're honestly excited with the result! The frontcover shows a spectacular scenery in central Switzerland, a so-called 'vulva cave', as it was sought to mark sacred rites of fertility and celebrations of life in ancient times! The artwork mystically and beautifully expresses the Ategnatos very core and essence! Once again it was a pleasure to work with Travis!" More...

Chrigel Glanzmann states:
"So here it is, the first single off our new album (well, apart the 'sneak peek' you already got a year ago with 'Rebirth'), being the title track itself. It's the song off the album introducing you into the whole mental realm that is 'Ategnatos'! Its message comes inconvenient maybe, challenging, evocative. This is a call from Antumnos!" More...

Eluveitie Reveals New Album Details
We all wade through archetypes. We all ARE archetypes. Distant echoes of a life both primeval and noble. To embrace these archetypes, to accept them not only as a part of life but as life itself is what some may call enlightenment, some peace of mind. Eluveitie call it "Ategnatos." And by using their longest gap between two Metal albums to gather momentum, they just forged their strongest album around it.
The new album "Ategnatos" will be released on April 5th 2019 via Nuclear Blast.
On an album both mystical and philosophical, Eluveitie propel mythology, pagan belief and spirituality into our modern world. "This one almost became something like a socio-critical uncovering work," says Chrigel, "some kind of a revelation, a doomsday prophecy. Dark and severe in its atmosphere and charisma, and also occult, arcane and elitist." The album itself is a manifesto, a fast-paced, highly dramatic and embellished work on which today's society sees itself in the mirror of ancient Celtic mythology and knowledge. "The image, of course, is blood-curling”, Chrigel adds with a bitter grin. "At least to those with eyes to see." Far more that a pessimistic swan song for our world, however, 'Ategnatos' holds the cathartic promise of renewal. "Ategnatos is the Gaulish word for ‘reborn’," Chrigel explains. "To the sharpened mind, it points out the concealed, long forgotten key to change and renewal." This, naturally, comes at a price. "There's always suffering before bliss. And always darkness before light." More...
