I grew up on thrash metal, so it will be amazing to tour with the Destruction guys. It will be our first tour of 2007, and I can't think of a better way to get started. This going to be a high-energy package, and we can't wait to see everyone on the road. Keep it metal!"

Returning after a three-year hiatus, the Seattle Metal Festival will be on Jan 20, 2007, at The Showbox in Seattle, Washington.
This year’s lineup – a mixture of metal veterans from the US and abroad, as well as up and coming national acts - will be: Overkill, God Forbid, Destruction, Into Eternity, Ghoatwhore, The Human Abstract, Mnemic, and Arsis.
The festival is promoted by Frank Hetzel of Howitzer Productions and the main sponsor is Dragon Monkey Media. Hetzel is the creator of the Seattle Metal Festival and the Northwest Deathfest, as well as the promoter of many metal shows in the Seattle area.
“I put the Seattle Metal Fest on the back burner for a while because I felt that it should become a stronger festival- a show with great national metal acts that people would travel from all over the Pacific Northwest to see,” said Hetzel. “It took some time to work out the logistics for a festival of this size and with the help of Dragon Monkey Media; the show is coming together smoothly.”
Dragon Monkey Media LLC is a Northwest-based media company promoting local musicians and artists by providing an internet resource to allow them to showcase their artistic works through its associated record label, Hot Monkey Records, and its affiliated production company, Dark Angel Productions.
Tickets go on sale Saturday, November 11 through Tickets West (www.ticketswest.com) and The Showbox box office, as well as seattlemetalfest.com, Silver Platters in Seattle, and Scrape Records in Vancouver, B.C. This is an all ages event with alcohol available for purchase to those at least 21 years old with ID.

TAAKE frontman Hoest has issued the following update:
"Yeah, I've been out of jail for a while. Corax [TAAKE guitarist], however, still has a few years left of his sentence.
"At the moment I'm putting together a new lineup. There has been talk about a European tour next year. In the meantime, check out TAAKE's split 10-inch with GIGANTOMACHY [featuring Corax], soon available from Agonia Records."
TAAKE's side of the mini-LP includes a DESTRUCTION cover as a special bonus. Expect around 35 minutes of "pure darkness and evil," according to a press release.
Veteran Dutch thrashers DEAD HEAD are currently in the studio working on demos for their forthcoming fifth album, tentatively due next year. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "The Swing", "Less Than Zero" and "Dissolved in Purity".
In other news, DEAD HEAD has uploaded a 3.5-minute compilation of video footage from the recording sessions for last year's "Haatland" album. Check it out at YouTube.com.
Formed in 1989, DEAD HEAD recorded "Haatland" at Hansen studios in Ribe, Denmark with producer Jacob Hansen (RAUNCHY, INVOCATOR). A 10-inch vinyl EP, "Dog God", featuring two songs from "Haatland", the IRON MAIDEN cover "Total Eclipse" and a re-recording of an older track, was released in 2004 via Fadeless Records. More...
The 11th edition of the Brutal Assault festival is scheduled for August 10th - 12th in Svojsice U Prelouce (100 km east of Prague), Czech Republic.
Organizers have issued the following update:
This year’s event promises more impressive expansion and confirms that the organizers don’t intend to stagnate. On the contrary, from year to year, the festival’s program is more and more various and promises more and more foreign metal crowd-pullers for the fans of promiscuous extreme genres. Thanks to the participation of many first-rate metal bands, this event aspires to become a major metal festival in central Europe.
It’s difficult to say which band can be branded as the headliner because this year’s lineup offers up several giants of the metal genre.
Great attraction, especially for fans of atmospheric or symphonic black metal are Norwegians black metal gurus DIMMU BORGIR. In their case we can look for a frosty and dark concert experience.
The next exclusive guest comes from the USA. FEAR FACTORY, who were well known as a representatives of dehumanized cyber metal, but nowadays they come with a new actual face of the year 2006. More...

Tuska Open Air Metal Festival has added more international and Finnish acts to the 2005 roster. The line-up is almost complete with only 1 more artist to be added for Saturday afternoon as well as the winner from the band contest at Rotonde-Festival, France, which is to be held later this spring. This year's Tuska-Festival is more international than ever, with nearly half of the artists coming from abroad. The evening clubs will most likely see some international action as well.
New additions in Finnish professionalism will be represented by Apocalyptica, whose cello metal is witnessed way too rarely on their native soil. Apocalytica just recently supported Rammstein on their European tour and appeared stateside on a few selected dates.
German precision and universal greatness is brought to you by the mighty Gamma Ray. The band last appeared on the bill at Tuska 2000 and have since built their fanbase by selling out club shows on a regular basis.
Other additions include up-and-coming death metallers Amoral, Finnish-singing Stam1na and Viikate, as well as Callisto who are about to embark on a European tour in a few weeks.
The search continues for one more, either domestic or foreign artist.
Ticket sales for Tuska 2005 start on Friday April 1st. Three-day ticketcosts 67 euro, one-day ticket 32 euro. Go to www.lippupalvelu.fi to purchase tickets.
Current Tuska 2005 line-up reads as follows: More...
From a posting on the official Destruction website:
At the moment 'Our boys' are recording the new album "Inventor of evil" together with Peter Tätgtren, V.O. Pulver and their Live engineer Franky Winkelmann.
Three different Studio's in Germany, Switzerland and Sweden will be involved in the production-process!
The mix will be done by Mr. Tätgtren at the Abyss Studio´s in Sweden.
Release date for europe will be august 15th on the new label AFM records. In the rest of the world the new masterpiece will be released a little later this summer.
It looks like some surprise guest will be featured on the new album (like ex-guitarwizz Harry).
Nevertheless there will also be a new tune featuring many 'well-known' Metalsingers from all exiting styles, for a song that is dealing with more unity and tolerance in the 'szene'!
Rumours say that the famous 'butcher' will have an impressive return on the frontcover!
Please stay tuned for more news soon....
Dimmu Borgir, Monster Magnet, Sentenced, Destruction, Primal Fear, Bal-Sagoth, Lake of Tears and Wintersun are the latest bands confirmed for the eighth annual Tuska Open Air Metal Festival, set to be held July 15-17 at Kaisaniemi Park in Helsinki, Finland. The 2005 festival will once again present more than 30 bands from different styles of metal, several of which will be announced at a later date.
Saturday, July 16 will be headlined by the infamous Norwegian black metallers Dimmu Borgir. Their Tuska performance will be one of few selected festival shows the band will do next summer. Dimmu Borgirwere originally scheduled to play at Tuska 2004 but after being offered one of the headlining slots at Ozzfest, they obviously had to cancel their appearance.
In addition to the already confirmed acts, more Finnish and international artists will be added to the roster.
