Atlanta power metal band Avian has issued the following update:
"We had a great time playing with HAMMERFALL this past Thursday and we’d like to thank all of the great fans that came out to the show; we’re looking forward to seeing you all at our next show, Wednesday June 23rd in Minneapolis, Minnesota co-headlining with CAGE."
"We are currently in pre-production for our next album, which we are hoping to release early next year. This fall, we will release a 5 song EP featuring a couple brand new songs and a couple acoustic songs. Full details of the EP will be announced in the near future."
"The recording lineup for the EP and the next album will feature Lance King on vocals, Yan Leviathan and Steve Stine on guitars, Brian Hollenbeck on bass and vocals, and Jerry Babcock on drums."
"We will be debuting a couple of new songs at our next show on Wednesday June 23 so make sure you come out and let us know what you think."
New Jersey unsigned progressive power metal band Structure of Inhumanity, which is a project of keybaordist Jonah W. (Pyramaze, Written In Blood, Echoterra, Avian), has announced that they will be shooting two videos on January 9th and 10th with acclaimed director Scott Hansen in Virginia Beach, VA for the songs "Red Ashes" and "The Ruin."
Avian has issued the following statement requesting fan support so they can go on tour:
"Times are tough on everyone right now and it is getting very difficult for bands like us to stay together. AVIAN is an independent band which means that we have to pay for everything from production to manufacturing to promotion.
"As some of you know, we have recently released our second cd, Ashes And Madness. The cd is receiving very high reviews and we have received some very lucrative tour offers. However, we do not have the financial means to accept these offers and that is EXTREMELY frustrating to all of us.
"We realize that spending money to purchase a cd is getting more and more difficult these days but we are asking you to PLEASE go out and purchase our cd; we have added a bunch of new songs and reviews to our profile so you can get an idea of what the music is about before you purchase it. Additionally, sites such as Amazon and Best Buy, have 30 second clips of all of the songs.
"You may not realize this but if you purchase our cds it will enable us to get on the road and come to your hometown in the near future and it will also allow us to continue to make true metal music.
"We would love nothing more than to keep AVIAN going strong but unless we can generate some cd sales we will have to call it quits. Thank you all."
US power metallers, Avian, have posted an acoustic version of their song "Beyond The Hallowed Gates" on their MySpace page. The song was from a 30 minute unplugged performance on KFAI radio in Minneapolis, which can be heard here (the set starts 52 minutes into the show).

AVIAN, the melodic metal band featuring singer Lance King (BALANCE OF POWER, PYRAMAZE) and guitarist Yan Leviathan, is hard at work on its new album, "Ashes and Madness", tentatively due in early 2008.
Commented Yan: "Well, all of the guitars are pretty much done, Bill Hudson [CELLADOR] did a phenomenal job with the solos; can't wait for you all to hear 'em. I took all of the tracks over to Lance's today and now he can begin to do his parts. We are on schedule for a mid-December finish at which point we'll go to work on finding the best possible label home.
"Here's the recording lineup as it will appear on the CD:
Lance King - Vocals, Keys
Yan Leviathan - Guitars, Bass
Jerry B - Drums
Bill Hudson - All Guitar Solos More...
CELLADOR guitarist Bill Hudson is currently offering his guitar playing skills to any serious bands that need a studio or touring guitar player in the near future.
Commented Hudson: "I regret to inform everybody that the recordings of CELLADOR's new album were postponed until further notice. We won't be going into the studio this year, and our next tour (alongside TRAIL OF TEARS, ECHOES OF ETERNITY and UNEXPECT) will not start until January 15th, 2008. I believe we'll start recording after that tour is over. That left me with a considerable amount of free time, and I really don't want to stay at home when I could be working. Currently, I am in Minneapolis, MN recording the guitar solos for the next AVIAN album, but I will be done tomorrow (November 10th). I have lots of touring experience and can travel anywhere in the world (I live in the United States). Any interested parties should contact me via e-mail (email@example.com) or my MySpace page."
Besides his work with CELLADOR and AVIAN, Bill Hudson's experience includes THE SUPREMACY, a project featuring drummer Mark Cross (FIREWIND, ex-HELLOWEEN) and keyboard player Joost Van Den Broek (AFTER FOREVER).
CELLADOR guitarist Bill Hudson is scheduled to make a guest appearance on the new album from AVIAN, the melodic metal band featuring singer Lance King (BALANCE OF POWER, PYRAMAZE) and guitarist Yan Leviathan.
Commented Hudson: I'll be heading to Minneapolis, MN tomorrow (Monday, November 5) to play the guitar solos in the next AVIAN record, which will be called 'Ashes and Madness'. I'm really excited about it!"
"I was really honored when Yan e-mailed me and asked if I'd like to play in it, because not only do I think they're a great band, but I also have two VERY good friends in it: Jonah Weingarten (PYRAMAZE) and Lance King. On top of that, they had David Ellefson (former bass player in MEGADETH) on the first album." More...
AVIAN, the melodic metal band featuring singer Lance King (BALANCE OF POWER, PYRAMAZE) and guitarist Yan Leviathan, has set "Ashes and Madness" as the title of its new CD, tentatively due in early 2008.
Commented Yan: "I have three songs I have to get done by Monday so that when Bill Hudson [CELLADOR] arrives to do his solos, he won’t be doing them to only a click track.
"The songs are coming together very nicely, we are setting down a very solid foundation which I feel will make 'Ashes and Madness' a great CD. Lance will begin vocals next week and we hope to have everything mixed and ready to go by mid-December.
According to the group, "Mattias Norén [EPICA, EVERGREY, INTO ETERNITY] has once again handled all of the art duties and he has done a killer job constructing a visually stunning 16-page booklet."
Yan Leviathan assembled AVIAN after being inspired by GAMMA RAY's performance at the ProgPower USA III festival.
Lance King is a well-respected and seasoned vocalist who has received critical acclaim and the support of legions of fans from his work in such bands as BALANCE OF POWER, GEMINI and PYRAMAZE.
AVIAN's debut album, "From the Depths of Time", was released in 2005.
