Due to Tony Laureano's (ex-DIMMU BORGIR, NILE, ANGELCORPSE) touring commitments with ALL THAT REMAINS, he is unable to join INSIDIOUS DISEASE (formerly INSIDIOUS) for their two German shows this week. Prepare to be sonically enslaved! Galder (Dimmu Borgir) delivers his darkest, most hateful and intense opus! From monumental, triumphantly marching mid-tempos to insane blast-beat driven passages, melodic, atmospheric synthesizers and a vicious mix of possessed screams and deep growls, Slaves Of The World stands out as a relentless album that exposes many entertaining and diverse facets making it even more fascinating for listeners not necessarily affectionate to the Black Metal tag. Old Man's Child have proven once again that Black Metal can be a serious and captivating form of pitch-black art!

1. Slaves Of The World

3. The Crimson Meadows

Indie Recordings recently announced the signing of debut act Sarke. The band features no one else than Sarke (Khold, Tulus, Old Man's Child and Sensa Anima) and Nocturno Culto from the mighty Darkthrone.
Sarke might sound like a new name, and in fact it is, but this grim story has more pages than one first might think. Formed in 2008 by its namesake Sarke, who has spread his angry art through Khold, Tulus, Old Man's Child and Sensa Anima, Sarke is a mesmerizing journey through dark and soothing soundscapes, inspired by legends like Mayhem, Slayer, Darkthrone, Celtic Frost, Black Sabbath, Candlemass, Death, Motorhead and Kreator.
For this musical quest, Sarke wanted to create music that has inspired him since he got into the extreme metal scene, and thus Nocturno Culto from the mighty Darkthrone was brought on board, making the core of the project complete. All music and lyrics are written by Sarke, but adding Nocturno's legendary voice to these songs, has without a doubt added another dimension to the grimness.
The debut album, "Vorunah," was recorded in November, and even though the album was recorded in old-fashioned 70's style to get the true vibe of the music, the sound is brutal, fresh and up to date.
"Vorunah" is produced by Sarke with Lars-Erik Westby and is set to a April 6th release for Norway, April 27th in Europe. A U.S. and rest of world release date is yet to be announced.
In a statement Sarke comments the signing: "I want to thank Indie Recordings for supporting my ideas with this band since day one and to Nocturno Culto for joining me; together we have created a monster."

Norwegian melodic black metal band Old Man's Child is currently streaming the new song "Slaves of the World" on their official MySpace page. The track comes from their upcoming full length studio album, which is as yet untitled. The band has announced that the album will be released in 2009, but has not yet set an official release date.
Old Man's Child has issued the following update about the recording of their new album:
Norwegian melodic Black Metal masters OLD MAN'S CHILD are back at last...and with a vengeance!
The band led by guitarist /vocalistGalder (also in Dimmu Borgir) just returned to their Norwegian home from a trip to Gothenburg / Sweden, where the band spent some weeks laying down the new unholy compositions at Studio Fredman with Fredrik Nordström (Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy, In Flames, etc.), who had previously worked with the band on their "In Defiance Of Existence" (2003) and "Vermin"(2005) albums.
The new OMC studio album's title has not yet been revealed, but the release will feature Peter Wildoer (Darkane, ex-Arch Enemy, Pestilence, etc.) on drums and having freshly finished his takes for the total of 9classy new songs, here is Peter's comment on the material and the recording session:
"After having being asked to be part of the new OMC album, I obviously went back and listened to the previous releases of the band, so I now am able to say that in my opinion, these new 9 songs are the best material I have heard of the band so far. There is a lot of more variety going on and the album will sound bigger than any other OMC record before. More...
ZIMMERS HOLE has secured a slot on the 20th anniversary compilation of Century Media Records, entitled "Covering 20 Years Of Extremes", which is available throughout Europe now. It contains 32 mostly exclusive recordings where Century Media artists cover songs from other acts within the label's repertoire and the result is a fascinating journey through the label's impressive musical spectrum.
Until the end of the year, Century Media will share some of these tracks on their MySpace page in weekly turns and you can now check out the ZIMMERS HOLE version of "Doommaker," a song by Norwegian black metal outfit OLD MAN'S CHILD, which was originally released on the "The Pagan Prosperity" album in 1997.
Furthermore, ZIMMERS HOLE will hit the UK as direct support of Swedish metallers Soilwork. This extensive tour kicks off in early November and is the band's first European run for their current album "When You Were Shouting At The Devil…We Were In League With Satan."
Here are the tour dates with Soilwork, Zimmers Hole and One-Way Mirror: More...
2008 has become an extremely exciting year in the history of Century Media Records, one of the world's most respected independent homes for heavy music, as the label is celebrating its 20th anniversary!
The company's Anniversary year started off with an extremely successful, first-ever yard sale/party at the Century Media office in Dortmund (Germany) in June, where several hundred guests partied out on exclusive live shows by Angel Dust and Turisas. A video with impressions from the event can be seen at this location. A photo gallery for this event can be viewed here.
To further celebrate this anniversary Century Media Records will release the very special 2CD compilation "Covering 20 Years Of Extremes" on September 15th in Europe and on October 14th in North America. The various artists covers-release includes 32 mostly exclusive recordings and will be available in stores for the price of one CD. Sticking to the "keep it in the family" slogan, CM approached their artists about covering songs from other acts within the label's repertoire and the response from the musicians was overwhelming.
Some choices were obvious and homages to the bands that influenced them, others were inspired picks. This combination ended up leading to a heavily entertaining and truly special final result across all sub-genres of heavy music.

STRAPPING YOUNG LAD drummer Gene Hoglan (also ex-DARK ANGEL, DEATH, OLD MAN'S CHILD) has posted the following message on the group's official web site:
"We stopped by the Harley manufacturer in Milwaukee yesterday, and took a little tour, pretty cool stuff. Tour manager/drum tech Bryan Seely was quite disappointed, though. He thought it was boring. He's rides a '49 Panhead and a '51 Panhead, and we were surrounded by 'Banker Bikers,' as he refers to them. The tour guide went down the line and asked everyone what they ride, and I was kinda at a loss for words, so when he got to me, I just blurted out, 'Chicks!' If he had been drinking milk, it would have come out his nose...He told me later that he'd never got an answer such as that before, so I figured they probably don't have many puerile rock-dudes taking the Harley tour...
"The show last night was killer! Milwaukee has always been a great place to play for STRAPPING. I do believe we have lost IT DIES TODAY for the rest of the tour, however. That's a shame, They were cool dudes, and we all wish them well.
"I got to hang with my brother Cris McCarthy. He was DARK ANGEL's guitarist for our last year of existence, and he and I were writing the never-recorded 'Atrocity Exhibition' album together. It's a shame DFA [DARK FUCKING ANGEL] couldn't hold it together, 'cause that album was gonna rip. I think, anyway. DARK ANGEL reunion=never gonna happen. We are gonna leave it 'legendary.' Why blow the myth? And oh, we would, believe me...
"Peter from DARKANE finally got to play his own kit, and damn! He's good, too! DARKANE is really stormin'. Fast, meaty, aggro thrash metal, played really well. What else do you need? They go on first, so do not miss 'em. Burton [C. Bell, FEAR FACTORY vocalist] and I just did a quick radio interview together at WKLQ, here in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It was a FEAR FACTORY interview that I just tagged along to. Burt did most of the talking, and I just pretty much said, 'Yeah, what he said,' in my best Barry White voice...
"Tonight's show should rock, and I'm sure we'll piss off all the rednecks...it's what we do..."
Napalm Death bassist Shan e Embury has joined supergroup Insidious Disease. The band also includes Dimmu Borgir guitarist Silenoz, Jardar (guitarist with Old Man's Child) and Nile drummer Tony Laureano.
Norwegian bombastic Black Metal act Old Man's Child have a brand-new song available at this location. “Enslaved And Condemned” is the crushing opener of the upcoming “Vermin” album which will hit stores via Century Media Records on October 17th. The tracklist for the new grim yet melodic Black Metal opus by multi-instrumentalist and sole songwriter Galder is as follows:
01. Enslaved and Condemned (4:15)
02. The Plague of Sorrow (4:09)
03. War of Fidelity (4:19)
04. In Torment's Orbit (5:04)
05. Lord of Command [Bringer Of Hate] (4:51)
06. The Flames of Deceit (4:39)
07. Black Marvels of Death (4:22)
08. Twilight Damnation (4:42)
09. ...As Evil Descends (1:11)
Like its acclaimed predecessor “In Defiance Of Existence” the new album has been recorded at well-known Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden (recording home of In Flames, Arch Enemy) and is crowned by exceptional visual art by sought-after Greek designer Set who is known for his work with Rotting Christ, Heaven Shall Burn, Paradise Lost. Galder’s musical partners in crime are Reno H. Kiilerich (live drummer of Dimmu Borgir, former member of Exmortem, Vile, Panzerchrist) and also Testament/Dragonlord guitarist Eric Peterson who torments his axe for a solo piece.
With the release of their 6th full-length album “Vermin” on October 17th, Old Man's Child is more than ready to top the praise its predecessor “In Defiance Of Existence” legitimately received.
Old Man's Child returned to Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden (In Flames, Arch Enemy and others), with Patrik J. Sten and Fredrik Nordström helping to create a new monster of an album. “Vermin” offers a massively sounding, grim trip into the sinister visions of mastermind Galder. With Danish beat-machine Reno H. Kiilerich, who was drafted by Dimmu Borgir as a live drummer after stints with Panzerchrist, Vile and Exmortem (and who won a drum contest displaying the fastest footwork after exceeding over 800 hits on the double-bass pedals in one minute) and a guest appearance by Dragonland/Testament guitarist Eric Peterson band founder Galder is in more than just good company and with artwork by Greek artist Set “Vermin” is also visually a dark and morbid slab of melodic, bombastic yet hateful Black Metal.
1. Enslaved And Condemned (4:15)
2. The Plague Of Sorrow (4:09)
3. War Of Fidelity (4:19)
4. In Torment's Orbit (5:04)
5. Lord Of Command [Bringer Of Hate] (4:51)
6. The Flames Of Deceit (4:39)
7. Black Marvels Of Death (4:22)
8. Twilight Damnation (4:42)
9. ...As Evil Descends (1:11)
Dimmu Borgir have released the following reguarding their upcoming album, summer tour plans, etc.:
"Finally there’s an official update on this site to let you guys in on what the Hell is happening at the moment and whatever else that we might be conspiring behind closed doors. We suspect most of you guys, our hardcore fanbase at least, wonder what’s up our sleeve next, understandably so. There seems to have been quite a lot of “confusion” lately, rumors back and forth, about this and that and whatnot, since the lack of information has been pretty evident the last couple of months. Perhaps we are partly to blame for that, one reason being that we simply might do this on purpose since we don’t necessarily like the perception of being everybody’s news center at all times to keep people updated on loads of unimportant shit, so-called everyday stuff. It might look as if we don’t care, and it’s true, we don’t, unless there’s some specific and important shit to discuss, like now.
First things first,
Festivals: We’re doing five (5) this year and five (5) only. You will find all confirmed live dates on this site. They got announced quite a while ago in the forum, but to avoid any more speculations (you’re all very good at that!) here we go again: June 4th – Waldrock (Holland), June 26th – Fury Fest (France), July 16th – Tuska (Finland), July 23rd – Zillo (Germany), August 6th – Gates of Metal (Sweden).
Drummers: We’ve decided, at least for the time being, not to invite a new drummer on a permanent basis. Tony Laureano will join us for all abovementioned festivals this summer, while Hellhammer has offered his services for the new full-length album.
Re-release of Stormblåst: We will have recording sessions in Abyss Studios with Peter “Jahhh!!” Tägtgren during the summer. Because of unexpected conflicting schedules, and with already booked studio time, we were suddenly forced to swiftly find a replacement for the drummer who originally agreed to do this recording with us. So we simply asked the closest one from home, Hellhammer, coincidently and luckily for us he was free to do that job as well! Tentative release date is sometime before this year is over. And yes, it’ll have extra material, prev. unreleased stuff, what’s the point of a re-release without? But more about the real reason why we chose to do this album all over again in it’s entirety later.
Next full-length album: Writing will begin Aug/Sep sometime, once everything else with festivals and re-recordings are out of the way. It’ll take the time it needs, so don’t expect any release sooner than 2nd half of 2006, at earliest. We have not yet decided who will be supervising/co-producing our next studio effort, but what we do know is that it’ll most likely be a full story/concept album. We feel it’s time to do something “else”, starting on scratch exploring fresh territory, challenge ourselves. More details on this as things develop.
On the side: Other bands/projects that will also in one way or another keep us occupied this year are:
CHROME DIVISION - Nekro Doomsday Rock ‘n Roll feat. Shag and Lex (KOVENANT).
INSIDIOUS DISEASE - Dark death metal feat. Silenoz, Jardar (Old Man’s Child) and Tony Laureano.
ARCTURUS – Vortex will be recording and touring with them later this year.
OLD MAN'S CHILD – Galder recently finished the new album, recorded and mixed in Fredman Studio.
Everything else is, as they say: Festivus for the rest of us – The pace has quickened!!!”
Norwegian black metal kings Dimmu Borgir will be taking a break for a year or two. It is expected that guitarist Galder will start recording a new Old Man's Child album during the band's break.
There is yet to be confirmation of this rumor. More details coming as they are made available.

Ruthless Reviews scribe Mike From Hobart has compiled a list of the "Top Ten Most Ridiculous Black Metal Pics Of All Time," which includes such bands as Immortal, Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth, Old Man's Child and Satyricon.
Check out the list and pics here.
The notorious Black Metallers OLD MAN'S CHILD with their album "In Defiance Of Existence" are amongst the nominees for this year's Metal-Grammy "Spellemansprisen" (http://www.spellemann.no) in Norway. As they are one of the veterans of the Norwegian Melodic Black Metal scene with now five influential albums plus a MCD under their belts, the band around Mastermind Galder (guitar/vocals, also playing in Dimmu Borgir) surely deserves this honor.
Along with their fellow evildoers of Dimmu Borgir and Enslaved, OLD MAN'S CHILD are now eagerly awaiting the official ceremony, which takes place on February 28th 2004 in the "Chateau Neuf"/ Oslo.
