Ironclad Recordings has announced the addition of heavy hardcore powerhouse Full Blown Chaos from Queens, New York to the roster. The band is currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on their follow up to 2007's "Heavy Lies the Crown" (Ferret Music). The as of yet to be titled album will likely be released sometime in January 2011.
"We have reinforced our style of writing with a more prevalent sound while keeping to our roots of audible mayhem.", vocalist Ray Mazzola said of the bands new material. "We are a 5 piece now so we are capable of doing so much more."
Touring non-stop has been a creed that Full Blown Chaos deems necessary, "Touring as much as we have in the past is an absolute necessity in this era of music and genre," Mazzola added. "You need to be in everyones face and make them remember you wether they like it or not. There are so many heavy bands out there its hard to distinguish ones self by music alone sometimes. Our band and music stands out because you can feel and hear the struggle and time we have invested. That alone will set us apart from the impetuous herd of todays groups."
New York metal band Severed is streaming their entire new, self-titled album exclusively through Metal Underground.com from now until the release party show on May 9th. Listen to the album below.
Update: The full album stream has now expired.
The album features guest appearances from Jorge of Merauder on "Comprehension" and Ray from Full Blown Chaos on "Chosen ground." More...
New York City metal band Severed has recently completed their self-titled new album, which will be released on May 9th. The band will be also hosting a CD release show on this day.
The band discusses the new album, “As any band who lives to make their music known, we've put blood, sweat and tears into our new CD. We feel the music directly mirrors us as a group. The album is a raw representation of Severed's influences and personalities, and as such we've decided on self-titling it. There's no hiding behind fluff or concept. Take it or leave it, what you hear is who we are.”
“Our new lineup is the most solid it's ever been. It enabled strong technical performances, a diversity of ideas and a deep, heavy sound to be the foundation upon which our album could be built. We're especially excited about the production quality, thanks to John Machado of Five Towns College. A lot of independent bands waste a great deal of time and money on projects with weak production. That's a trap we took efforts to avoid. Working with John was invaluable to getting the sound we wanted. The same can be said for the artwork, a creation of Eliran Kantor, who has done work for many bands including Testament, Gwar, and Sigh. Like all of his art, our CD cover image was masterfully executed and exciting to see in print. We are also extremely excited about the guest appearances on the disc by Ray Mazzola of Full Blown Chaos, and Jorge Rosado of Merauder. Their support means a great deal to us, and their performances add a very dynamic feel to the songs they appear in.” More...
Vocalist, Ray Mazzola, of New York hardcore band, Full Blown Chaos, issues the following update regarding plans to release a new album in 2010, tentatively called "Villains:"
“Between being stifled by personal loses and major deaths in all of our families, it was hard to stay on the road and keep focused on the big picture,” explains Mazzola. “Music has a way though, to heal and revitalize the soul through creativity and inspiration. Writing this record has been just that.” More...

THE ACACIA STRAIN, have confirmed most dates for an upcoming fall headlining tour dubbed Crashing Through the Holidays to continue supporting the band's latest release, 'The Dead Walk.' Joining the band on the road will be Despised Icon, Full Blown Chaos and the Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, with additional support from Recon, Implosive Disgorgance and Ligeia on select dates. Currently wrapping up dates alongside labelmates All That Remains as well as Protest The Hero and Too Pure To Die, THE ACACIA STRAIN will take a month off the road before heading back out in late November.
"We're wicked excited for this tour," frontman Vincent Bennet says. "I've wanted to tour with all of these bands forever, and we finally are. We are going to be playing some songs that we haven't played in forever or haven't been able to play due to the lack of a second guitar (hint) and will be showcasing a new song or two. Expect a ton of "thumbs up" and some serious hangouts. Save your pennies too, because we are going to have a bunch of one time only merch designs! I can think of no better way to ring in the holiday season than with all the bands on this tour. Sorry to our friends in the Great White North though, we are seriously trying to stay away from those dangerous snow-covered roadways. I promise we will make it up to you when the warmer weather hits. See everyone in November and December!"

Just days before this high-voltage metal event takes off, one of the sponsors of the Indy Metal Fest backed out of the deal. Indie label Chavis Records (home to Sonic X and Quiet Riot), who has offered a hand in sponsoring the event since April, has failed to mandatory fees and has left presenting sponsor Blind Prophecy Records to pick up their bill. Now that Chavis has been knocked off the event, the stage at Birdie's Live will no longer be called the Chavis Records Stage, but will rather take on Blind Prophecy's name instead.
The event, powered by Blind Prophecy Records, is slated to cram two venues with over a dozen prime metal acts, including Obituary, Alabama Thunderpussy, Daath, and Blind Prophecy's very own Years of Fire and Pain Principle.
On Saturday, September 22, Indianapolis Metal Fest will blast off in the KOC Grand Ballroom (all ages) and across the street at Birdie's Live (21 and up). Official band time slots will be posted in the coming weeks at indianapolismetalfest.com. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 day-of-show.

Greg Burk of the Los Angeles Times reports that five heavy-metal concerts scheduled at House of Blues clubs on Walt Disney Co. property in Anaheim, California and Orlando, Florida have been hastily shifted to other venues or canceled recently, according to House of Blues web site calendars.
A Sept. 7 show featuring MACHINE HEAD, ARCH ENEMY, THROWDOWN and SANCTITY, booked two months earlier, was moved on two days' notice from the House of Blues in Anaheim's Downtown Disney entertainment complex to the Glass House in Pomona. Thursday's concert with CANNIBAL CORPSE, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, THE RED CHORD and THE ABSENCE, originally slated for the Anaheim House of Blues, was moved to the Galaxy Theatre in Santa Ana. A Sept. 26 Anaheim House of Blues concert featuring OBITUARY, ALABAMA THUNDERPUSSY, FULL BLOWN CHAOS and HEMLOCK has been canceled outright.
At the House of Blues in Orlando, Fla., on Disney World property, a Sept. 17 concert of the MACHINE HEAD lineup has been moved to Club Firestone in downtown Orlando. The same action has been taken with the Oct. 11 CANNIBAL CORPSE package.
Asked about the scheduling changes, John Vlautin, vice president of communications for Live Nation (formerly Clear Channel), the concert-promotion organization that owns the nationwide House of Blues chain, issued a statement Thursday that said only: "House of Blues offers a range of entertainment to match the audience at our venues. It was determined that the mix of entertainment at our two Disney locations should be different from our other venues."
Vlautin declined to comment on why metal bands have been singled out after years of similar bookings or whether other metal events already scheduled, including SUFFOCATION, EDGUY and STATIC-X, will be affected.
Rob Doughty, communications vice president for Disneyland Resorts, declined to comment, referring inquiries to Vlautin. Paul McGuigan, concert promoter at the Anaheim House of Blues, also declined to comment through a club spokeswoman.
The Walt Disney Co., through Vlautin, issued a short statement Thursday that included no specifics about the shifts of the metal concerts: "In consultation with Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, the House of Blues will provide a mix of entertainment for guests visiting Disney Resorts."
