U.D.O. Re-Releasing Back Catalog With Bonus Songs

The “Live In Sofia” release from U.D.O. is now available in Europe and the USA, which includes a concert of the band in Bulgaria’s capitol wrapped into DVD/2-CD and BluRay/2-CD packages. A second teaser trailer for the release can be found below.

And there’s another reason for all U.D.O. fans to celebrate: finally the band’s extensive back catalog will be made available again – now in special “anniversary editions.” This series will start with "Solid," "Man And Machine," "No Limits" and "Holy" (all albums include bonus tracks) on December 7th. U.D.O. Posts Clip From "Live In Sofia" DVD/Live CD

German metal icon Udo Dirkschneider posted a new live clip for "Heart of Gold" (which originally appeared on the 1990 studio release "Faceless World." The clip is part of the forthcoming DVD/2CD live release entitled "Live in Sofia," which is expected for release on November 9, 2012 via AFM Records.

Udo Appearing On New Jettblack Album

Udo Dirkschneider of U.D.O. will be appearing on Jettblack's new album "Raining Rock," which will be released this coming June 4th, 2012. Check out Udo with Jettblack on the bonus version of the title track "Raining Rock." You can also find the album's cover artwork below.

U.D.O. Unveils Artwork For "Celebrator" LP

German metal legend Udo Dirkschneider (Ex-Accept) unveiled the album artwork for the special U.D.O. 25th Anniversary album entitled "Celebrator." The release will be a collection of unreleased tracks, rare bonus songs and forgotten teasures. "Celebrator" is scheduled for release on May 4, 2012.

U.D.O. To Release Rare Tracks Album

U.D.O. has issued the following announcement about releasing the upcoming "Celebrator" album through AFM Records:

"U.D.O. will release a 'rare tracks' album with some very special gems for the fans. The album is called 'Celebrator' and will be released April 20th via AFM Records.

"Subtitle of the album is 'rare tracks' to make sure nobody expects a new studio album. We are currently working on the final track listing which will be released later this month."

U.D.O. Issues Tour Recap

U.D.O. has checked in with the following recap of the band's recent run of European tour dates:

"Last Saturday we finished our 3 months lasting European tour with a magnificent show in front of a fantastic and wild crowd. Thank you Memmingen, this was a real highlight at the end of a long and intensive tour and you really pushed us to the limit.

"Thanks to all our fans all over Europe who attended the shows and supported us all the time. This tour was the highlight of the U.D.O. touring history so far! THANK YOU!!

"During this Europen tour we played 49 shows and had 11 shows sold out plus many more nearly sold out. More than 40.000 people came to see us, this is FU**** GREAT!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!

"2012 will be a very special year for U.D.O. but also for 'Mr. German Tank' Udo Dirkschneider himself. We will present a lot of interesting activities and also some very interesting news and releases.

"In spring 2012 we will tour Russia, Belarus and Ukraine and we plan to release the live CD/DVD/Blu-Ray of the 'Rev-Raptor Tour,' recorded during our Show in Sofia/Bulgaria in front of a few thousand people. In summer we will play festivals and another tour in South America. We hope to see you soon!"

Wacken Open Air 2012 Sold Out

The organizers of Germany's Wacken Open Air festival have announced that next year's edition of the event, scheduled to take place between August 2nd - 4th in Wacken, Germany, has already sold out. A message from the organizers reads as follows:

"Amazing! Wacken is sold out for the seventh time in a row! For the seventh time in a row Wacken Open Air is sold out and never before in such a short time! All 75,000 tickets are sold. Thanx for your support, metalheads! A huge part of the billing is already announced including several special and exclusive shows as well as high-class acts. As every year we have made every effort to provide a terrific billing! And the announcements don´t stop. Via our online advent calendar at least one band will be announced every day during December. Together we will turn the 23. Wacken Open Air into a mega party!"

AFM 15th Anniversary Festival Packs All-Star Card

AFM Records is celebrating its 15th Anniversary this year. In addition to a three CD compilation, the label has also put together an all-star lineup for a festival in Hamburg, Germany on November 26, 2011. The lineup for the show includes headliners U.D.O. along with Voodoo Circle, Orden Ogan, Kissin' Dynamite, Dark Age, The New Black, Lake Of Tears, A Life (Divided), Mob Rules, Byfrost, XStahlmann, Buried In Black, Black Messiah and Crystal Viper with a special act to be announced.

The special 15th Anniversary 3CD compilation will be released on October 28, 2011, but festival attendee's will receive the package free with a ticket purchase.

Machine Head Confirmed For Wacken 2012

American heavy metal oufit Machine Head has been confirmed as the latest band for Germany's largest metal festival, Wacken Open Air, which will take place between August 2nd - 4th in 2012. Machine Head will be releasing their new studio album, "Unto The Locust" on September 26th in Europe with a North American release date of September 27th to follow. This will be their first album since 2007's highly acclaimed, "The Blackening."
