Kataklysm Reveals North American Tour Dates
Canadian death metal veterans Kataklysm has revealed the dates for their previously announced headlining run of North America. They will be joined on the trek by groove metal pioneers Exhorder, Brazilian death metal outfit Krisiun and thrash metal outfit Hatchet.
Kataklysm frontman Maurizio Iacono comments, "It took a while for us to get a full North American tour put together for 'Meditations' due to an extensive schedule and also the arrival of my little boy earlier this year. But, we are finally here and with a hell of a package this time. We are very excited to share the stage with the legendary Exhorder; 'Slaughter of the Vatican' is one of my all time favourite records. And to round off the package having our brothers in Krisiun with us and the thrash outfit Hatchet is gonna make this a memorable tour. We will play a varied set of the bands discography and of course. our latest album Meditations, all wrapped up in a devastating live show as only Kataklysm can deliver. It's gonna be sick. See you all very soon."
The tour dates are as follows: More...

Relentless Raven Wrecks London
When digging through what was labelled the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, fans can find a plethora of amazing music, with so many different styles of heavy metal at a time before the likes of thrash and death metal were established genres. A common theme though is bands losing members to the point where groups such as Diamond Head, Tygers Of Pan Tang, Saxon and Venom only have one member who appeared on the first album. However, one of the era's most exciting bands, Raven, still have their backbone firmly in place, as the Gallagher brothers (John and Mark) are still going and after forty four years, making sure the Raven is flying as high as ever. Now with a new drummer, Mike Heller, the trio are on a headlining tour across Europe and all who attend are guaranteed a great show.
Opening up their final British show of the tour was Manchester based hard rockers, Heavy Sentence. I've criticised some bands in the past for offering nothing new but in this case, it was good fun to hear some no frills, balls out rock and roll in the vein of Motorhead and Rose Tattoo. As opening band, they almost naturally played to the smallest crowd of the night, though those that weren't here were treated to some hard and heavy, foot tapping rock. Sometimes the simplest things in life can be the finest. More...

Hatchet Signs To The End, Readies New Album
Since releasing their debut album, “Awaiting Evil,” via Metal Blade in 2008, and completing 3 full DIY U.S. tours, Hatchet went through some lineup changes, which stalled overall progress of the group. Throughout the changes, founding member Julz Ramos always had the passion to keep the band going, even moving to take on vocal duties. Now the band has settled down with a new lineup and readying its sophomore effort, “Dawn of the End,” which will be released on their new label, The End Records, in March of 2013.
Julz commented on the signing to The End Records:
Hatchet is beyond thrilled to announce our signing to The End Records. They have a vast array of genres and styles within the label and it will be very interesting and exciting to see how Hatchet can expand its sonic force within the label. We have been shopping our new full length album to various key labels, however The End's straight forward interest, excitement and approach to the band was a refreshing one for us to see. Further talks have only strengthened this feeling and we are happy to see the label already has some ideas and avenues they are thinking about to help push us in the right direction. Album details and release dates to shortly follow.
Warbringer To Headline Charity Concert
California thrash metal act Warbringer has been announced as the headline act at this year's "Thrashgiving" charity event. The benefit concert to feed the needy is set to take place on Saturday, November 20 at Cheyenne Saloon in Las Vegas, Nevada. Support on the bill will come from Hatchet, Hexen, Vektor, Malus Rex and Control the Chaos.
Event organizers commented by saying:
"Two years ago we debuted the concept of Thrashgiving bringing together out-of-state and local artists performing thrash metal music for the benefit of the needy and we're doing it again. Even bigger and better this year in an attempt to make this an event held annually in Las Vegas. All proceeds from the show will go to the Rescue Mission and Boys Town. So attend a good show and know that your charitable ticket price will be donated to these organizations to help the less fortunate have a nice holiday.
