Shadowside Comments On Upcoming Album
After previously announcing the track listing for the new album "Inner Monster Out," Brazil's Shadowside has now checked in with an update about the album. "I believe it's safe to say this is our best material to date," said vocalist, Dani Nolden, of the 11 new tracks on the album. "It's very heavy and angry, but also very musical. We worked a lot on the melodies to make them catchy, yet elaborate, just to the right extent."
"Inner Monster Out" was produced, mixed, and mastered at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden by Fredrik Nordström (Arch Enemy, At The Gates, Bring Me The Horizon, In Flames), and features guest vocals from the likes of Björn "Speed" Strid (Soilwork), Mikael Stanne (Dark Tranquility), and Niklas Isfeldt (Dream Evil).
"Working with Fredrik (Nordström) was fantastic and everything went smoothly," said Nolden. "He is a perfectionist, and really helped push ourselves to our best. We were pretty much living in the studio for a month, so the whole band was completely focused on the album and on nothing else. I can't wait to have this album out and play these songs live. That's what they were written for!"
"Inner Monster Out" is the follow up to 2009's "Dare to Dream." Shadowside's debut, "Theatre of Shadows," was released in 2007. Shadowside will continue to play live shows as the band preps for the release of the new record. Upcoming dates are as follows:
April 9 2011 - Rio Claro, Brazil - D'Vinci Bar
June 23 2011 Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina - Banja Luka Rock Open Air

Shadowside Comments On Iron Maiden Show
As was previously announced, Iron Maiden had to cancel last night's show in Brazil due to the security barricade collapsing. Shadowside has now issued the following statement about the show:
"Brazilian female-fronted metal band Shadowside performed last night at HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The band was supporting Iron Maiden, that was unfortunately forced to cancel the concert and reschedule it to tonight due to problems with the security barricade.
"Despite several websites confirming that Shadowside will play again tonight, the promoter company Mondo Entretenimento, trying to solve all problems and organize the new concert, could not tell for sure if there would be technical conditions to keep the Brazilians on the event, thus deciding to keep only Maiden on the rescheduled show.
"Dani Nolden (lead singer), Raphael Mattos (guitars), Ricardo Piccoli (bass) and Fabio Buitvidas (drums) would like to thank everyone around Iron Maiden, Mondo Entretenimento and HSBC Arena for the opportunity, attention and cordiality, as well as the crowd for such a warm reception. All Shadowside members wish Iron Maiden and the fans a great gig tonight.
"On the occasion, Shadowside performed for the first time three new songs that will be on their upcoming album 'Inner Monster Out,' to be released on June 7 on SHP/Universal Music worldwide. 'I'm Your Mind,' 'Disrupted Reality' and 'Gag Order,' the last one already been played during their latest European tour as W.A.S.P.'s special guests, had excellent acceptance during their performance in Rio."

Shadowside Posts Tour Report
Brazil's Shadowside has posted an extensive tour report online from the band's time in Europe. An excerpt from the report follows:
"Alright, rockers... you've been waiting for quite a while to find out what happened during our stay in Europe and now the time has come! We have a bunch of pictures and stories to share with you. As most of you know, we spent two weeks in Europe and played in Bran, Romania and Banja Luka, Bosnia-Herzegovina in some of the most amazing locations one could possibly imagine. The Bran concert took place right in front of a castle known worldwide as Dracula's Castle, while in Banja Luka we performed inside of a true Roman castle.
"I would like to start this report differently however... this time, I'll start with the thanks. This would not have been possible if it wasn't for such special people, that did such an impecable job at making these festivals happen, treated us with extreme respect and made the whole tour run as smoothly as usually bands only dream about. There are always a few last minute problems a band has to solve that keep us from fully enjoying the experience and sometimes even turn out to be so bad that the show becomes the only good part of the day. This, however, didn't happen this time. I can't recall being worried at all during this tour. These promoters and helpers dealt with everything so well that us, the musicians, only had to focus on playing. Therefore, Shadowside would like to thank: More...
Shadowside Album To Get Worldwide Release
Brazilian metallers Shadowside, who had previously released their latest disc "Dare to Dream" only in Brazil, have now announced the album will see a worldwide release. "Dare to Dream" is set to drop on May 29th, 2010 via S4/NL distribution and will also include the previously unreleased track "Everlasting Sun" as a bonus song.
Recorded, produced and mixed by Dave Schiffman (Audioslave, System of a Down, Six Feet Under) and mastered by Howie Weinberg (Iron Maiden, Metallica, Pantera, Rush, Aerosmith and several others), “Dare to Dream” is the band's second album. Shadowside has been on the road since the release of the debut album "Theatre of Shadows" in 2006 and has performed in South & North America and in Spain supporting the likes of Primal Fear, Nightwish, Helloween, Divine Heresy, Kittie and Sepultura.
Shadowside have just been confirmed at two Eastern Europe festivals. The band will perform on the third edition of Rockin' Transilvania in Romania, which takes place from June 18 to 20 in Bran's Castle. On June 26, Dani Nolden (vocals), Raphael Mattos (guitar), Ricardo Piccoli (bass) and Fabio Buitvidas (drums) are to appear at Banja Luka Rock Open Air as one of the headliners together with Whitesnake.
Shadowside Posts "Hideaway" Video
Brazil's Shadowside has uploaded a music video for the song "Hideaway" from the "Dare to Dream" album, which can be viewed after the jump. The album was produced and mixed by Dave Schiffman and Howie Weinberg. The video, which was directed, produced, and edited by Luiz Felipe Amorim, took place in an abandoned garage in their hometown Santos, Brazil. It features the band performing as well as lead singer Dani Nolden playing the main character. The band issued the following statement about the video and recruiting a new bassist:
"The song talks about people who are misunderstood, mistreated and put down by society for their whole lives, for the sole reason of being different and unusual. In this case, we portrayed it on a more personal level and showed a teenage girl accused by her mother of painting masks to disrespect her, to be aggressive, while all she wants is to express herself and ends up hiding who she really is. Also the band officially announces new bass player Ricardo Piccoli, who has been playing for the past few concerts. As well as an experient musician, Piccoli is also a producer."
Piccoli commented: "It was a pleasant surprise when I received the band's invitation and it's a huge pleasure to be part of the Shadowside family. I hadn't been as active as a musician, I was mostly producing. It feels great to be back on stage with these guys." More...

"Hello metalheads, rock maniacs and Shadowside dwellers! First of all, it SUCKS that many of you didn't get to watch the concert last Saturday (March 20) that was being streamed live. Apparently so many people were watching it that the website simply could not handle the traffic and went down. We were so frustrated (not to say pissed) that our fans all over the world didn't get to see how much fun it was. We'll make it up to you with pics, videos and of course - the tour report!
