Latest Engine of Pain News
Below is our complete Engine of Pain news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.
ENGINE OF PAIN, the Heavy Metal band from the South of the Netherlands, is looking for a singer. ENGINE OF PAIN is signed to a worldwide record deal with Lion Music and endorsees of Jackson Guitars, Dean Guitars, Engl amps and Spector basses are searching for a new singer to implement the release of their upcoming 2nd album and also to promote that album after the release (interviews, gigs etc.). For the future a 3rd album is also planned.
The songs for the 2nd album are 90% finished but without any lyrics and vocal melodies. Think about a mixture of Forbidden, Fates Warning, Annihilator, Iron Maiden and Nevermore with heavy parts in between, lots of space for vocals and above all very melodic soloing.
Applicants needn't have the same voice as the previous singer but the band are NOT looking for a shouter, grunter, screamer, gothic etc. ENGINE OF PAIN are searching for a Heavy Metal singer who can sing melodic in addition to possessing a good range and power. The ability to write your own lyrics is also preferred. ENGINE OF PAIN are not looking for a project singer but a new (enthusiastic) steady band member.

Dutch thrashers ENGINE OF PAIN have issued the following update:
"Again some cool news from the Engine of Pain front line! We are talking about two brand new Engine of Pain tracks called: 'Rack And Ruin' and 'Spit Out The Anger' which will be an approximate direction of the style of the second album to be released worldwide fourth quarter of 2008 on Lion Music. These are the first studio tracks of the new line up. Both songs are recorded at the PITstudio (Weert) and mastered by Peter Neuber at Vintagemastering Studio (Berlin)."
"Guess what?! Rack and Ruin is set "downloadable for free" at the Engine Of Pain Myspace site, our official website and the Lion Music website! Check it out! Even the lyrics are downloadable so you can shout along at the top of your voices! ;)"
Engine of Pain is very proud to announce their new vocalist: Rogier Stockbroeks a.k.a. Stocky. Former vocalist Nick Hameury left the band July this year due to his immigration to Spain. Stocky reinforced Engine of Pain as of 1st of August 2007.
Stocky (32) has the ability to sing amazingly powerful clean as well as heavy as hell. Just like Bastiaan, Stocky currently also plays in Stormrider: Europe's number one metal cover band. Stocky's most recent band was Powervice whose demo "Behold the hand of Glory" was Demo of the Month in Germany's Rock Hard magazine. Stocky stepped out of this band last January.
The new addition will definitely mean a new vocal sound for Engine of Pain. But the band is convinced that Stocky's influences will be a great step forward again and it will take the band to the next level. Engine of Pain will still play most of the old songs live as well.
The band is in the midst of writing new songs for the upcoming second album. The style will remain heavy and Engine of Pain-worthy with the intention of the debut album "I Am Your Enemy" (Lion Music – January 2007) but will contain more melodic vocals, more twin riffs, more high tech soloing and a splash of Heavy Metal.
Engine of Pain's first gig with Stocky will be on the 6th of October as a support of USA band Pro-Pain (Venue: Plato - Hellmond, the Netherlands).
