Lamb of God announced that upcoming co-headline tour with Dethklok and Gojira, scheduled to begin August 1st, in Seattle has been cancelled. The cause is the uncertainty surrounding the release of frontman Randy Blythe, who is still in the Czech Republic following his arrest on manslaughter charges for his alleged involvement with a fans death in 2010. Upon Randy’s release, it is the band’s intention to rebook a tour in the fall and at this time the band fully intends to participate in the Mayhem Cruise in December.
The band's issued a statement: "Lamb of God wishes to thank Dethklok, Adult Swim and Gojira for their support and patience as well as all of the promoters who had dates on the tour. Last but certainly not least, the band thanks all of the fans who bought tickets for the tour and who have been supportive of Randy and the band over the last month that Randy has been held in Prague. Without the fans, there is no Lamb of God."
Adult Swim also commented: "In light of circumstances beyond our control, the upcoming Dethklok and Lamb of God with Gojira summer tour has been canceled. Refunds will be available to customers who already purchased tickets through their point of purchase. We thank Dethklok fans for their continued support and look forward to releasing information about the band's upcoming third album and a planned fall tour in the coming weeks."
Adult Swim presented Dethklok on the USS Midway aircraft carrier Friday night in San Diego, CA. The world's most brutal animated death metal band played its first live performance of 2012 as "Metalocalypse' came to life at the San Diego Comic-Con International. Those that attended the full-to-capacity concert enjoyed new animation and new songs from Dethklok's upcoming album and a grand entrance via helicopter landing on the flight deck of the USS Miday.
The current Dethklok touring line up consists of Brendon Small (Dethklok, Galaktikon), Gene Hoglan (Strapping Young Lad, Testament, Death, Dark Angel), Mike Keneally (Frank Zappa, The Mike Keneally Band), Bryan Beller (Steve Vai, Galaktikon).

This summer, two of the biggest names in metal, Lamb of God and Dethklok will join forces for a 34-show North American tour kicking off on August 1st in Seattle, Wash. The three-time Grammy Award-nominated band from Richmond, VA and the world’s most brutal animated death band from Adult Swim’s Metalocalypse animated series will shred their way through cities throughout in the U.S. and Canada ending September 15 in San Francisco, CA.
The upcoming Dethklok and Lamb of God with Gojira summer tour marks the return of Lamb of God to North American stages where they will support latest album "Resolution," which debuted at #3 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart when it was released earlier this year.
As in tours past, Brendon Small, the co-creator and composer behind Dethklok, will bring the animated band to life on stage each night alongside an all-star band including the legendary Gene Hoglan, Bryan Beller and Mike Keneally. Building on the success of "Dethklok: The Dethalbum" and "Dethklok: The Dethalbum II" from Williams Street Records, Small is currently in the studio working on the band’s third album release scheduled for later this year. Additionally, new episodes from the fourth season of Metalocalypse currently air on Adult Swim Sundays at 12:15 a.m. (ET/PT). More...

Brendon Small is the co-creator/ writer/ actor/ director/ producer/ of Adult Swim's Metalocalypse television series. Brendon Small is also responsible for writing and performing all of the show's music and "Dethklok: The Deathalbum."
Now, Brendon has written and produced Brendon Small's Galaktikon: "A High Stakes Intergalactic Extreme Rock album," his long-awaited side project set to release in April 2012. The album release will coincide with the Season 4 premiere of Metalocalypse.
Coming off of the second Dethklok album, Brendon Small's Galaktikon searches for melody (in the vocal) and finds inspirations in modern black metal, Queen, Foo Fighters, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins and Weezer. No influence is unwelcome on this project. Brendon Small paired with Dethklok drummer Gene Hoglan (Strapping Young Lad, Testament, Fear Factory) and Dethklok bassist Bryan Beller (Steve Vai, Mike Keneally band) and Dethklok engineer and mixer Ulrich Wild.
“This album should be thought of as an audio comic book, an over acted chamber drama, a ridiculous premise that takes itself way too seriously all the way to the end,” states Brendon Small. More...

Adult Swim has teamed up with Gibson Guitar to create a Deathklok "Thunderhorse" Explorer, the band’s new signature guitar. Adult Swim issued the following statement about the new guitar:
"That’s right: a real guitar. Gibson craftsmen collaborated with series co-creator – not to mention Berklee College of Music grad and Billboard chart-topping musician – Brendon Small to come up with the design of the limited-edition product that was unveiled to industry insiders at last week’s NAMM 2011 show in Anaheim, Calif.
"Available beginning next month at Gibson Guitar dealers throughout the U.S., the Dethklok 'Thunderhorse' Explorer is a top-flight metal guitar patterned after the animated band’s lead guitarist, Skwisgaar Skwigelf’s weapon of choice. It features a gloss Silverburst finish with cream top and fingerboard binding. It is equipped with Burstbucker 1 and Burstbucker 2 pickups and is decked out with chrome hardware. The limited-edition guitar will be available for a suggested retail price of $2699."
Show creator Brendon Small also commented: "Though our show is a crazy comedy, we managed to target a very large guitar playing audience. I think that’s because despite all the joking I do on the show, I take the guitar playing and the way the guitar is presented on the show quite seriously! It may be the only thing I take seriously! Well, I take chocolate seriously too. Anyway, it's great to see the fans responding to the guitar and the music through buying CD and guitar tab books! But I have to say I never knew I'd be lucky enough to design a Gibson Explorer!! This Silverburst is amazing. It sounds beautiful and I've been putting it through the tests on my solo record and it sounds absolutely beautiful! I am officially the luckiest man alive!"
As part of Metal Injection's coverage of the black carpet at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards, they had a chance to speak to Metalocalypse creator Brendan Small, who revealed that he is working on a musical side project with Gene Hoglan that is due out in the fall.
Here is what he had to say: "I'm finishing the season then I'm going into the studio and I'm finishing a solo record that me and Gene Hoglan, and the same Dethklok producer did, so if you like Dethklok, it'll be the same thing, and it'll come out this fall."
When asked if the tone of the record would be less silly he quipped back "It'll be as wise-assy as it needs to be but if you like the riff style, the double kicks, the Gene Hoglan playing, the guitar playing…the vocals will be a bit more melodic but still a heavy project."
Check out the entire interview below:

When answering questions from fans and users of MetalSucks.net recently, Metalocalypse creator Brendon Small has revealed that the next season of Metalocalypse will include special guest voice work from Mastodon, Slash, Joe Satriani and Steve Vai. An excerpt from the interview is as follows:
Q: Can we expect to see more voice work from the members of the metal community in the new season, perhaps your tourmates in Mastodon?
A: "That’s funny that you mentioned that, [because] we just recorded Mastodon in the upcoming episode and they were… we were blown away. We get a lot of people and we’re always surprised that they have this kind of other talent or can do voiceover stuff. Mastodon surprised us more than anybody else — they were really funny. Just hanging out with those guys on this tour has been really fun. They have a very good sense of humor. A lot of people in rock and roll, metal and all that stuff spend all their time on the bus just watching comedy and Monty Python and stuff like that. We have Mastodon coming. We have members of In Flames coming this season. I have some of my guitar heroes playing parts on this season, doing voiceovers, like Satriani, Vai, and Slash. I’m a guitar nerd so I had to reach out to those guys to see if I can get them on the show. They were great too."

Heavy metal juggernauts Dethklok have exploded onto the Billboard Top 200 again with the release of “Dethalbum II,” selling nearly 45,000 copies in its first week. Metalocalypse creator Brendon Small had this to say about the chart debut of DETHKLOK’S “Dethalbum II”: "I'm both happy and humiliated that DETHALBUM 2 reached number 15. Happy because we beat the first DETHALBUM numbers and humiliated to have been beaten by our second album numbers by ourselves. Either way we're still not as good as the Archies and I never want to forget that. Having said all of that, dear god I am fantastic and talented."
The September 27 release of Metalocalypse: Dethklok’s “Dethalbum II ” coincides with the start of Season 3 of Metalocalypse on Adult Swim in November. The third season of Metalocalypse will pick up right where Season 2 left, and this season the episodes will be thirty minutes long.
