Below is our complete Warbringer news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.
Warbringer will have to miss four tour dates in May, as Epicurean drummer John Gensmer is unable to play those dates with them. Here's the update from the band:
"...we've unfortunately had to pull off the last four shows of our current tour (Nashville, Beaumont, Lubbock, Amarillo) due to Epicurean drummer John Gensmer only being able to play with us through May 21. We want to thank Gensmer for all his assistance playing with us during the Kreator and Exodus dates, while Nic continues to heal. This will not affect our June dates as they will go on as planned."
Thrash metal outfit Warbringer has posted their new music video online for the song, "Severed Reality." You can check it out below. The song will appear on the bands new studio album, "Waking Into Nightmares" which is to be released on May 19th. More...
The much anticipated new WARBRINGER album, Waking Into Nightmares, is set for a May 19th release, but to tide everyone over until then the fine folks at Revolver Magazine are now streaming the blistering new track, “Prey For Death,” which is only available for a week exclusively on Revolvermat.com. This new effort showcases the maturity of the band as a direct result of endless touring with such genre titans as Kreator, Exodus, Soilwork and Darkane coupled with the addition of a new, very skilled rhythm section.
WARBRINGER recently completed a new video for the track, “Severed Reality,” which was shot by the acclaimed David Brodsky (Black Dahlia Murder, GWAR). This is a frenetic, performance based clip that perfectly captures the band’s live, unrelenting stage show. Look for the video to premiere on MySpace Metal this Friday, May 15th.
John Kevill (vocals) further comments: “The video for ‘Severed Reality’ got done in the middle of a tour, and it was done mostly live at the venue we were playing at that night in Milwaukee. We did a couple shots on the stage before anyone showed up, and then just shot the whole show for the video. As it turns out the show was fucking insane, we couldn't even fit all the stage divers in the video! David Brodsky went to put the whole thing together and it came out great, I think it is the strongest video we have had so far.”
Waking Into Nightmares will quickly separate the band from the typical old-school thrash comparisons as they crafted an album that paves a new path throughout the metal genre. This could be best compared to the impact and influence Megadeth had with Peace Sells and perfectly executes an unrelenting barrage of straight up heavy metal madness. This is old school metal with a modern twist that will keep the circle pits moving all night long. Enjoy and look for the band on tour through the remainder of the year and feel free to visit www.myspace.com/warbringer for additional information.
With the release of 2008's War Without End, WARBRINGER established themselves as one the most ferocious young bands on the planet. With the chainsaw guitar riffs of John Laux and Adam Carroll accompanied by the evil screams of John Kevill, the band pillaged cities worldwide and established a rabid, hardcore fan base after months and months of touring. Breaking through the mainstream metal underground at a time when the term 'Thrash Revival' was being coined, WARBRINGER struggled and fought to distance themselves from the flock and the rest of their peers with an extremely aggressive, energetic live performance and a determination to drive the old-school sound forward into the next decade with a sense of fresh air and originality.
Warbringer's John Laux has posted the following update from the Kreator and Exodus tour:
"First off i want to thank everyone who has and plans on coming out to our gigs on this tour. The clubs have been packed and the response has been amazing!
"I wanted to let you guys know that Nic Ritter wont be returning to the drum throne until our Headline dates on the west cost this June. The Doctors in LA told us his bone has healed but the tendons in his arm need special attention. We decided to leave him in LA so he could get some proper rest and recive physical therapy on a regular basis. Weve been informed he should make a complete recovery within the next 3 weeks.
"Special thanks and mention to John Gensmur from Epicurean for stepping into the ring for us on this Tour. He has been giving us, his kit, and the crowd his hell everynight so we can in turn rage and put on a hell of show for you guys! Accidents happen, but this tour woudln't have been possible with out his help.
"Our CD release date is just 2 weeks away and we are very excited. If any of you guys are definatly planning on buying our record, making an order by presale or purchasing it within the first week of release would be a huge favor to our camp. We are very grateful for your support! See you guys around the chopping block."

California thrashers Warbringer are currently streaming online the new song "Living In a Whirlwind," which comes from their upcoming album "Waking Into Nightmares." The track can be heard on the band's MySpace page. "Waking Into Nightmares" is set to be released through Century Media Records on May 15th.
Darkane has issued the following update:
"We're back in Sweden from what we believe was a very successful tour in North America together with Soilwork, Warbringer and Swallow the Sun. Thanks a lot to the other bands, crew and all the fans that showed up and made us feel welcome. Playing 50 shows in 52 days was kinda tough but we're very happy we managed to pull it through without any bigger issues. Now we are focusing on writing new material for the next album but before that we have a show at The Tivoli in our home town Helsingborg tomorrow (Saturday April 4th), and then we have the Roskilde festival and Nuclear Assault festival booked for this summer, and hopefully more will show up. Next week Peter Wildoer will head out on a European tour with Pestilence for three weeks."
"I am also very proud to announce that I am now officially endorsed by Steve Clayton guitar picks. I have been using Clayton pics (1.26 mm) since the middle of the nineties. Since Darkanes music is based on accurate playing I need a pick that feels steady and that I can count on when I hit my strings very hard. With the Clayton picks I get a very good and reliable grip allowing me to alter between fast and rhythmic playing without having to think about what my right hand is doing. See you out there!"
Young thrash metal group Warbringer has launched their touring campaign in support of their forthcoming new album, "Waking Into Nightmares" but the band have already hit bad news with the announcement that drummer Nic Ritter will be forced to miss out on the tour after breaking his elbow at a recent show after slipping on ice. A message from the band reads:
"Unfortunately this is not an April's Fools joke. Nic fell down the other night loading out of the club and hurt his elbow. We hoped with some ice and rest it would be okay. This morning we found out it was broken. Regardless, the shows must go on and we rehearsed as a 4-piece with Adam playing drums. This will be the format for the next handful of shows until we hook up with Epicurean, as John Gensmer has agreed to play both sets. We toured together on Overkill and he is a beast. Nic will be out of commission for at least 3 weeks, but will be staying on the road with the band."
LA's WARBRINGER has completed work on their sophomore effort, entitled "Waking Into Nightmares," with producer Gary Holt (Exodus) with mixing duties being handled by Zack Ohren (Suffocation, All Shall Perish). The artwork for "Waking Into Nightmares," was created by Dan Seagrave (Morbid Angel, Entombed).
Warbringer has also announced an exclusive pre-order package that will be available with the band on the road: anyone who preorders "Waking Into Nightmares" from their merch table will be handed a strictly limited edition, hand-numbered 2-song single with exclusive advance mixes of the songs "Severed Reality" and "Prey for Death" from the new album. "Waking Into Nightmares" will be released on May 19 via Century Media Records. More...
Young thrash metal band Warbringer has posted a new song online entitled, "Severed Reality." You can check it out by heading to the bands official Myspace page. The song comes from the bands forthcoming new studio album, "Waking Into Nightmares" which will be released on May 19th through Century Media Records.
The band states: "’Severed Reality’ is one of the first songs we wrote for Waking Into Nightmares. Some of the riffs even date back to before we did the first record. When we started writing for the new album this was one of the first songs to come together and has been a favorite of ours since. We have been playing this song live since the Overkill tour last September-October, and it's always gotten a great live reaction. It's a really heavy, fast number with some of my favorite lyrics we have. You figure it out."

Warbringer has issued a tour report for the end of February. Here's what they had to say:
"Hey everyone! We've only out few weeks and we already seen the tortures of the damned. We drove across the USA, starting with a 5 hour long blizzard in Flagstaff AZ and in a matter of days we were kicking of the tour at JAXX in Virgina.
"It looked like we would be strange fit but we feel right at home sharing the road and the stage with Fins Swallow the Sun and the Sweds in Darkane and Soilwork. Alot of great things can be said about the all bands and crew were on the road with.
"The last 2 weeks left us pretty haggard, our singer devoleped and nasty cause of Bronchitis which only got worse in the cold weather and was spread to the rest of us. We only have just begun treatment with proper drugs in the last few days. Canada thank you for a simple and cheap health care system! We are all back in good health and spirit.
"We want to thank everyone whos come out and supported us so far, regardless of our health the shows have all been killer.
"We learned that even if your in Wisconsion, the crowd will go nuts if your filming a music video. Our last challenge was flying 4/5ths of the band from Edmonten Canada to Atlanta Georgia for the Scion Metal Fest.
"The show was completely fucking killer, and the same morning we flew back to Vancover were regretably we had to cancel our set because Ben, our Van and Trailer, and a few members of Swallow the Sun blew a tire and got stuck in the snow on the way back from Prince Albert in the Canadian Rockies!
"Thanks to some good fortune they meet a trucker who miraculously pulled our van and trailer out of a snowbank. they made it a half hour after doors and we let swallow the sun play our set slot because we will be back with Kreator and Exodus in just a few weeks!
"Hope to see more familiar faces on the road! were playing alot of new, brutal fucking songs. There are plenty of dates to go..."
Warbringer has issued the following update about finishing the recording of their new album:
"WARBRINGER became road warriors over the course of the past year. The band spent the entire year on the road, hitting nearly every location you could imagine, in support of their Century Media debut, War Without End. Now the band has completed work on their sophomore effort and are on the road with Soilwork, Darkane and Swallow The Sun.
"WARBRINGER spent their break from the road locked inside Sharkbite Studios working with axe man/producer extraordinaire Gary Holt (Exodus) on the new album, which will be mixed by Zack Ohren (All Shall Perish, Suffocation) and is scheduled for release on May 19, 2009. Fans can expect to hear several new tunes from the record live as WARBRINGER plays with Soilwork and then on the band’s upcoming stint with Kreator and Exodus.....
"John Laux comments: “We are proud to announce that we have finished all the tracking for our next album! We want to thank all of our fans for supporting our music and for all the outspoken interest in our next record. Without a doubt this is the heaviest WARBRINGER production to date. Expect nothing less than some brutal, punishing, faster than hell metal with that classy Old-School touch. More...

Guitarist Christofer Malmström of the Swedish metal band DARKANE has issued the following update:
"I realized that it's only 3.5 weeks left until we leave for our massive U.S. tour with SOILWORK, DAYLIGHT DIES, WARBRINGER and SWALLOW THE SUN. This tour will be interesting. We will play two shows, then have a day off, and then play like 35 days in a row without a break. I hope everyone will stay healthy because this will be rough. Then we have a day off again. All in all, we are going to play 50 shows in 52 days. 41 shows in the U.S. and nine in Canada. But the bottom line is that we are all looking forward to this VERY much!" More...
California thrash act Warbringer has issued the following statement about their upcoming album and show dates:
While earning a reputation as road warriors, Warbringer have spent the last two months home working on new material that will comprise their second album. The five-piece are now prepared to enter the studio in January to record the follow-up to "War Without End", voted by Revolver as one of the best albums of 2008.
In mid-January Warbringer will play four shows in California previewing new material, including a show in Anaheim during NAMM, before entering Sharkbite Studios (Machine Head, High On Fire) in Oakland January 19th with Exodus guitarist Gary Holt producing. The album will be mixed by Zack Ohren (All Shall Perish, Light This City, Braindrill) at Castle Ultimate.
Guitarist John Laux comments, "Since our last tour we've lead a very successful and creative campaign in the jam room collaborating on our next record. While staying true to our identity we have plenty of new tricks up our sleeves, including things we learned on the road, as well as showcasing [newest member] Nic Ritter's explosive drumming. We're thrilled to be tracking in the Bay Area and we couldn't be more confident with Gary Holt as our producer to help us bring our music to life in a recorded format. Besides being a legend in the thrash scene, Exodus have always managed to produce records with a killer punch regardless of dismal musical climates. Also, we think Zack's experience in mixing and mastering will be excellent as he's worked on a number of very LOUD and FAST records." More...
WARBRINGER became road warriors over the course of the past year. The band spent the entire year on the road, hitting nearly every location you could imagine, in support of their Century Media debut, "War Without End." Before heading into the studio to begin work on their next record (more info on that coming soon), Frontman John Kevill took time to issue the following statement.
"So 2008 is wrapping up, and what a year it has been for Warbringer. It’s been surreal as so many dreams have come true. In February we released our first album, War Without End, and we toured in support of it for ten months. We played over 200 shows on 7 different tours through 16 countries; we drove countless miles, we went through 2 vans and a trailer, A rhythm section and a royal shitload of beer and weed. We played our metal everywhere from our home on the west coast all the way to the shores of the Black Sea.
"We want to thank everyone who made all this possible for us, here goes the list:
"Our manager Marco Barbieri, our bookng agents John Finberg and Marc at MAD, Century Media Records, Bill Metoyer, all of our families, all the clubs, press, radio stations, video outlets and record stores that helped promote us, Exodus, Suffocation, Goatwhore, Arsis, Napalm Death, Finntroll, The Faceless, Nile, Sworn Enemy, All Shall Perish, Overkill, and most of all, all the fans who came out to the shows and raged, hung out with us, gave us a place to stay or food to eat. You guys are completely awesome!
"We'll be doing the same kind of relentless touring schedule next year, and already have 100 shows booked in just the first few months alone. Till then we’re in the jam room every day working on new material. Expect a new album next year. See you out on the road in '09!"
