Below is our complete Warbringer news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.
Warbringer will launch a new North American tour in New York City on January 5th, 2016 at The Gramercy Theatre. This co-headliner trek with Sweden's Enforcer will be almost two months and cover the U.S. and Canada, along with opening acts Exmortus and Cauldron.
This is the first domestic tour Warbringer has done since the fall of 2013 when the group opened for Overkill and Kreator in support of last album, "Warbringer IV: Empires Collapse." This is the band's only tour planned for 2016 as Warbringer will continue to write and plan to record a fifth album later in the year.
"The band sounds fucking killer right now and I can't wait to get out there and assault the stage," comments singer John Kevill. "It is worth mentioning that I've seen a number of 'people leaving bands' news pieces recently. Most often they cite the complete impossibly of making a living playing music, and the difficulty of the touring lifestyle. Well, I can say from experience that all of that is true.
"It's tough, there's no denying that. But that isn't what I want to talk about here. What I want to talk about is what has kept me going for the 10+ years and 1000+ concerts I have done with this band I started right after finishing high school. I've seen more of the world than I ever thought was possible, met thousands of people from all walks of life, and from them learned much of the world. Among other things, I learned to remain humble and to always remember what an honor and privilege it is to perform songs I made with my friends, to complete strangers who live thousands of miles away who will come out on a work night to see me and my fellow band dudes banging our heads. Too many people lose sight of this. So that is why I am still here, and why I will see you guys on each of the 47 dates of this tour. Be ready. I am." More...

Southern California thrash metal five piece Warbringer is back in action after a few lineup changes and writing an album with plans to record in the fall. Today the band also announces a full North American tour in early 2016 with Enforcer and a South American Tour in July.
Warbringer Frontman John Kevill had this to say about the North American tour: "We are excited to announce the return of Warbringer to the road across North America. It looks to be a completely excellent lineup, with heavy metal warriors Enforcer and Cauldron, and longtime friends/total shredders Exmortus. Looking forward to firing up the engines again and getting back out there on the warpath, hell, it's about time!" More...
Joining the likes of Skeletonwitch and other esteemed metal alumni, the recently reformed Warbringer has been banned from playing the House Of Blues for lyrical content. Warbringer comments:
"So a special announcement from the folks at Disney Inc. Warbringer has been banned from the show with Meshuggah on April 13th at the House of Blues Anaheim.
"The show will proceed but we won't be on it. Our band name/image/lyrical content are somehow objectionable to proper Disney image and family values. We are not told of specifically why. We will still appear the following day at the San Diego House of Blues as Disney has nothing to do with that one.
"As the person who wrote all our lyrics, I'm not sure how anything I've written is worse than:
-the goose-stepping Nazi hyenas from Scar's song in the lion king
-the racist crows in Dumbo
-Bambi in general ("Mom! Nooo!)
"Remember everyone, censorship blows. Hope to see you guys' support at the Whisky April 30th." More...
Warbringer built a reputation for itself: the Southern California thrash metal band was part of every major tour around the globe for five years straight. In that time, the group somehow found time to record four albums of unrelenting aggression. And then it all came to a screeching halt.
"I really thought that the 'Empires Collapse' record cycle ended prematurely due to the departure of (guitarist) John Laux and (drummer) Carlos Cruz. I figured it would be the end of the band, and the end of my life's work, as I'd really put everything I had into this band" explains singer John Kevill.
"I remember on the last show we played on that US tour (guitarist) Adam Carroll came to me and told me how we had to keep the torch held high and to realize the full potential of the band no matter what. We carried on the following European tour with fill-in members, as we really hate to cancel a gig and let down our fans, but it really seemed like the end for us. Fortunately, though it took a long time, we have been able to find musicians in our area to help carry on the torch of the destructive, intense music this band stands for. So welcome Vicken Hovsepian on drums, Noah Young on guitar, and Alex Malmquist on bass. Our mission since we started rehearsing together was to be the tightest incarnation of the band yet, and to raise the bar and move forward, never back. So far progress has been great and I can't wait to get out there and unleash this new weapon upon the world."
After months of intense rehearsal the five-piece is ready to show the world the new Warbringer. The campaign starts with an Asian assault because there's nothing better than flying halfway across the world and debuting your new lineup in front of a huge crowd at the Hammersonic Festival in Jakarta, Indonesia alongside established heavyweights like Lamb of God, Mayhem, Vader, Unearth, and The Faceless among others. This show will be followed by additional headlining dates in the region, an area Warbringer has attacked feverishly before.
"We are extremely pumped to return to Asia. It will be our third time over there and we're ready to get back into action and bust some skulls! We've played Indonesia and Taiwan before but this run will include our first visit to China so we're excited for that" states Kevill. More...
After parting ways with two members earlier this year, Warbringer has issued the following update about the band lineup:
"Status report - new lineup almost complete. Of previous members, it is myself (Kevill) and original guitarist Adam Carroll remaining.
"We have two new guys, Noah Young on guitar and Vicken Hovsepian on drums, these dudes kill on their instruments and in the month or so we've all been jamming we have about 12 songs getting pretty fucking tight. They are both longtime metalheads and have been into Warbringer for many years, and know well the spirit of the band. Awesome to work with such motivated and talented people.
"Unfortunately Ben Mottsman (Bass) is not going to be joining us again, best wishes to him in his new project, farewell to a rocking dude.
"We have some bass tryouts coming up and we'll see how that goes. Yeah, I know, we've hit basically every conceivable obstacle out there and this is taking forever. But we aren't gonna play a damned note to you guys until the band is sounding tighter than ever, we aren't gonna do some half-assed comeback, when you see us again it's gonna be sharp as a goddamned razor."
Warbringer, which released latest album "IV: Empires Collapse" late last year, has issued the following announcement about parting ways with two members:
"So guys, all our fans and supporters, Kevill here up way too late drinkin', there's some bad news and as our awesome fans you guys deserve to know. I don't feel right about our prolonged silence on this issue and I think it's time we clear things up.
"Drummer for the 3rd and 4th records Carlos Cruz and founding guitarist John Laux have left the band. This is a huge and devastating blow to us, and it makes even my own self doubt our future. Carlos made great contributions on the last two records, and John Laux started the band with me, we wrote our first songs together.
"The more astute listeners have noticed this, as our last tour we did not have either of them on board. As for the why's, I don't entirely understand it myself, so I can't provide a decent explanation here. I really wish I understood more than I do.
"Still remaining is myself, founding member Adam Carroll (he's back) and bassist of the fourth record Ben Mottsman.
"This is why you haven't heard much from us lately, why the nonstop touring machine has grinded to a halt, and why any updates here are more about the past than they are of the future. More...
After the band's guitarist was hospitalized earlier this month, Warbringer has now issued the following announcement about missing a show due to border problems:
"Sorry to all the Turkish fans for us not appearing in Istanbul tonight. There was issues beyond our control with border paperwork, and we were not able to make the show.
"Enjoy the rest of the tour and we hope we can make it there soon, it is a real disappointment for us not being able to play for you guys." More...
Warbringer is currently on the road supporting new album "IV: Empires Collapse," but unfortunately guitarist Adam Carroll missed a recent show. The band comments:
"Hey everyone. Adam Carroll is in the hospital here in Madrid and had to be absent from the show tonight.
"We played the show anyway of course, but we wish our brother Adam a swift recovery! he may or may not play the show tomorrow in Lisbon, we shall see.
"Get well soon Adam!" More...
As if the ante of seeing Testament, Overkill and Flotsam & Jetsam needed to be raised, the thought of seeing Kreator, Overkill and Warbringer was much too tempting an offer. I was fortunate enough to see Overkill on that fateful day – February 16, 2013 – the last show that Blitz would sing on the tour due to contracting pneumonia – which forced him into the hospital in Buffalo the next day and forced the band off the tour. Looking back on that day, I thought despite the illness, Blitz sounded great – however, he did leave the stage nearly every time he stopped singing. Chuck Billy of Testament, who was also sick, sounded pretty awful, but he was a trooper and put on a great show regardless. Flash forward to November 1st and The Palladium in Worcester would be witness to what I can only describe as the “Tour of North American Aggression.” More...

L.A.'s Warbringer has been locked away in The Omen Room studio with producer Steve Evetts (Dillinger Escape Plan, Sepultura, Symphony X) for the past few months and is about to complete "IV: Empires Collapse."
"IV: Empires Collapse" is a collective work between the five band members and the producers. "Musically, all five of us brought something for the rest of the group to work off of and we were all a part of chiseling away at the ideas," says drummer Carlos Cruz of the recording process. "Having five band members with eclectic tastes in music from Crust Punk to Progressive music and everything in between brought about new musical directions for the material."
The album will be released October 15th, 2013 via Century Media Records. A previously posted studio video can be found right here.
The band will hit the road in support of genre legends Overkill and Kreator starting the night before Halloween in Baltimore and ends with two nights in New York City. More...
