The band have only been playing for a few months but have already gained a cult like following and fanbase in the Swindon metal scene.
The band features bassist 4D (ex-Prometheus) and guitarist/vocalist Tom Norris (ex-Kilians Red)
Promising young Swindon (England) metal band have announced their end. This comes as a huge blow to the Swindon metal scene as Kilians Red were a strong part and influenced many bands in the area with an inspiring subtle way of keeping metal live in a town where metalcore, emo, screamo and hardcore are the main flavours.
Kilians Red seemed to be doing really well for themselves until bassist Joe Bishop departed at the end of June and vocalist Tom Norris also left the group, just over a month ago. Though Kilians Red announced they'd be looking for another bassist and singer, guitarist Dan Carter followed suit and left join Morbid Remains. Founding/ ending members Jon Jones and Alex Mason have not issued a statement regarding the end of the bandor what they plan to do next but more likely than not, they will surface together in a new outfit.
It has recently been confirmed that Kilians Red singer Tom Norris has left the band. No explanation has been issued yet as to why but some believe that his other band, 51 Wrecking Crew, is a big factor. There has also been rumours of tension between him and the rest of the band though nothing has been confirmed just yet.
The following message was posted via their Myspace:
"Kilians Red have parted ways with vocalist Tom Norris, we send our best wishes to Tom and his new band the 51 wrecking crew. The rest of us remain together playing heavy fucking metal!!! The future is not clear but there will be a new line-up or project on the way.
Unfortunatly we've had to cancel our forthcoming tour. We would like to thank everyone for the large amount of support we have recieved over the last few years, we've come from nothing to what we are now thanks to your support! We've had a great time and hope you enjoyed us to. Keep posted to the Kilians page for any news, it will be on here as soon as our direction is clear.
Thanks from the Kilians camp Jon, Alex & Dan"
This comes as another blow to the band after their bassist Joe Bishop departed a few months ago.
August the 3rd may well have been the most important and highly anticipated night all year for Swindon metalheads as two of the areas biggest and best bands returned and a much hyped band performed their first gig together as well as a visit from the best Welsh band since Budgie. And not one band disapointed. More...
