Exodus Holds The Headbanger's Ball In London

December has been one Hell of a month for tours. Great Britain has been treated to a wide array of bands visiting this month, while there's also been some real treats when it comes to tour packages. Perhaps there was no tour with more to offer, especially to fans of thrash metal, than the Headbanger's Ball tour, which made its only British stop in London a few weeks ago. Denim vests, high top running shoes and band patches at the ready, it's a night of old school thrash.

Opening the show, all the way from Athens (Greece, not Ohio,) was Suicidal Angels. Many will remember about ten years ago, there was the thrash revival, which saw a number of young bands bring back the thrash of the eighties, many going full retro and singing songs about Robocop. While many of these groups simply rehashed the style, there were some who brought a freshness to the genre, either by putting a modern spin on things or adding some new elements. Suicidal Angels were one of the few that fall into the latter category and proved on this night that they're still going strong not just because the music's good, but because they're a real force live. Obviously, they had the shortest set time on the bill, but fans who arrived early were treated to a quality display of thrash metal, which instead of being a nostalgia act, was an energetic outburst of metal. Suicidal Angels Joined By Teen Guitarist

At a festival appearance this summer Suicidal Angels was joined on the stage by a 15 year old fan who performed alongside the band. Footage is available below, and Suicidal Angels comments:

"Schoolwave festival, summer 2013: when we were asked from the festival's production, to have as a guest in the middle of our set, a young boy, we didn’t give it a second thought, it was a dead end!

"What’s best than to give the chance to somebody to do something, that in his age of 15, yourself, never ever dreamed of. And John, took advantage of the opportunity given, to perform in a big stage, in a large audience, gave some hard time to his guitar and in the end left with a huge smile.

"We're quite sure that we will read for him and his band in all press, not only in Greece but also abroad, in the near future! Enjoy!"

The new Suicidal Angels album "Divide & Conquer" drops on January 10th (EU) and January 14th (North America) via NoiseArt Records.

Suicidal Angels Unveils Album's Artwork

The new Suicidal Angels album “Divide and Conquer“ will be released on January 10th, 2014 (January 14th in North America).

Singer Nick recalls: “We recorded again in the Music Factory and Prophecy Studios and the mix and master this time was done by Fredrik Nordstrom at Fredman Studios. We didn’t know what to expect for the final result, but what we got is killer. He managed to combine the old school feeling of our music with an up to date production of 2013, absolutely massive!”

The cover artwork has been handled by Ed Repka (Megadeth, Death, Municipal Waste) and can be viewed below. The band comments: “If you notice, in the pit, it's not people fighting, it's zombies. Also the crowd isn't human, they are zombies. They are the souls of people who have no human feelings anymore. They represent the ugliness and the inhumanity of the humans. Thus, turned into something else, they are easier to be conquered and manipulated.” More...
