Vandod To Record New Album

Swedish black metal band Vandöd will enter the studios in June to begin recording the follow up to their 2007 album “As." Expected to be ready for release in the autumn, the album, to be called “DÖ”, will be the second full-length from the band. “Our last album was a very raw and unpolished effort, and almost all of it was recorded in one takes, since we all set off with the idea that a debut album should be very 'true' and necro," commented drummer Daniel Wikforss. “But we’ve got that stage out of the way now, and 'DÖ,' is going to surprise quite a few people. We’re not prepared to go into too much detail yet, but let me reassure fans that we have no intention of becoming a technical band, that’s just not what Vandöd aspires to, but there will definitely be some changes to the production values."

Vandod Release First Full-Length, Post Video

Formed in 2004 by guitarist Henrik Wendel and drummer Daniel Wikforss, Black Metallers VANDÖD have released their first full-length album “As” on Sweden’s Ex Mortem Records.

The Swedish band has developed a style all of its own, thanks in part to Wendel’s years of playing in local Orchestras, which allowed VANDÖD to develop a distinctive sound that sets it apart from the usual run of the mill Black Metal bands, without ever losing its dark Scandinavian edge. Vocalist Niclas Ankarbranth joined the band after hearing Wendel and Wikforss playing around with a track during a visit to the studios, and the trio were later joined by FALL OV SERAFIM’s Ville Kemi on bass and backing vocals.

Tracks from the album, and a new video for the track “Burden of Eden” can be found on the band’s official MySpace page.
