We’re still accepting submissions for our ticket giveaway contests through Fort Lauderdale’s Revolution Live this month - for Attila (supported by Crown The Empire and Like Moths To Flame) next Friday, November 14th, and for The Ghost Inside (supported by Every Time I Die and Architects) on Sunday, November 30th. If interested, submit your full name (matching your ID) to podcast@metalunderground.com, with one of the headlining bands in the subject line.

This week, we showcase the songs “Left For Dead” and “3 Ring” by Louisville, KY rapcore outfit Corprit Convict, which co-hosts Kevin Perez (n0thinghead) and Mike Smith (OverkillExposure) chalk up to a politically charged, raw, low-budget incarnation of Otep. Then Mike plugs the new album “As The World Burns” from Pitch Black Forecast, an underground side project of vocalist Jason “J-Mann” Popson (Mushroomhead) and drummer Gene Hoglan (Testament, etc.). The album contains guest appearances from Devin Townsend, Randy Blythe (Lamb Of God), and M. Shadows (Avenged Sevenfold), and is out now on Ferocious Records.

The big news of the week is, of course, the untimely death of industrial metal entertainer Wayne Static (ex-Static-X) last Saturday, November 1st. Stay tuned for a full round of discussion not only on the circumstances of Static’s passing, but on his career and musical legacy as well.

The as-yet-untitled album includes completely remixed and remastered tracks from Pitch Black Forecast's two previous releases (an out-of-print full length and EP) plus a special bonus EP by Bitch Wrangler.

"This record is a compilation of my favorite Pitch Black Forecast songs, which are remixed with additional tracking and far closer to my initial vision," said Popson, who recently rejoined Mushroomhead for "The Righteous & The Butterfly."

He goes on to say, "The funny thing about side projects is the time frame in which you must deliver, sometime things are rushed and unfocused. With this release we've trimmed the fat and took our time compiling what I consider the definitive Pitch Black Forecast release." More...

Gene Hoglan Sends In Large Update

The Atomic Clock himself updated with a lengthy blog post on his myspace page:

"Howdy folks. Well, where to start? There's just too much stuff going on at the moment to remember, let alone catalogue in any sort of abridged manner, so I'll just dive in chronologically I suppose...

"I'm here in Vancouver, mainly to complete the editing of my forthcoming dvd, "The Atomic Clock". Wow, original title, eh? If I had just concentrated on double-bass on it, I might have called it "Evil is A Foot", but since I do way more than just metal drumming on it, I figured "The Atomic Clock" just fits. And, I am still shooting for a July release, available at first on my websites.

"Let me tell ya, it's coming out great! I'm really psyched! It's gonna clock in at about 2 hours, and hopefully they're gonna be an entertaining 2 hours for all. Upon it's completion, I'll have a more detailed blurb about it. Say, haven't ya heard that one before?

"I'm also up here completing the mix for the MECHANISM album, who will be featured heavily on said "The Atomic Clock" dvd. That is coming out righteous, as well. I'm super-pumped for this one. I'll say this a million times, but this is probably my craziest drum album to date. As of yet, we have no finished product to share with anyone, and I'm pretty glad about that fact. Hopefully it'll drop like a bomb. Or at least a well-placed M-80. More...
