DieTrich Thrall Forms Beauty In The Suffering

Marazene producer, multi-instrumentalist, programmer and vocalist DieTrich Thrall has launched a new electro-metal studio project, Beauty In The Suffering. The full statement posted on the website follows:

Beauty In The Suffering is an evolving concept I came up with years ago that best described a sense of optimism during some bright spots of an otherwise massive struggle against overwhelming odds. Music I have been writing and expressing over the last several years has been uniquely intimate in reflecting those struggles and I am very excited about putting out some fresh ideas that represent the here and now.

Beauty In The Suffering deals with universal themes of love and loss, defeat and resolve, and struggle and triumph. Everybody has moments where the road looks impossible to pass. But somehow little by little we manage through our own inner strength and the purposeful placement of fate, chance, and karma. We emerge wiser and with a deeper understanding of ourselves and of our place in the world and the beauty we glean from the suffering we have endured can never be denied.

This is a journey I accepted long ago. I wear the scars of my personal triumph over my struggles with pride and I stand ready to face new challenges. And, like the Phoenix rising from the ashes, this is a new beginning. I thank you all for standing by my side during some very difficult years of active-inactivity. The future is wide open and full of nothing but payoff.

DieTrich (pronounced Dee-Trick) is best known for his co-founding and co-visionary role in the industrial-metal band Marazene (later called Marazene Machine).

Mushroomhead Percussionist To Perform w/ Marazene

In a follow up to last week's announcement, Chicago based Machine / Metalists Marazene have announced that MUSHROOMHEAD percussionist Dan 'Little Dan' Fox will fill in for them on drums on their upcoming tour.

Drummer and co-founder Kristov Kemp had confirmed to the band only last week a cancer relapse that will require immediate chemotherapy treatment and which will force him to sit out the Fall tour.

The blog posted by multi-instrumentalist and co-founder DieTrich Thrall follows:

"MARAZENE would like to thank the entire SkumF***er Nation for all of your support following last weeks disappointing announcement regarding our brother Kristov's current health crisis.

"Marazene understand the importance of a touring opportunity for an independent band such as ours. While bands such as Static X, Nine Inch Nails, or Korn could easily reschedule a National Tour, Marazene are forced to consider numerous pros and cons. So many logistics had to be in the bag by the time we got the update on Kristov's health situation. We could all just turn around, throw in the towel, and give up but that's not Kristov's way of dealing with his health nor is it our way of dealing with our band.

"Kristov needs to focus on fighting this. He can never be replaced. That can never be questioned. He'll be back. And Marazene will only be stronger in the long run.

"We're fortunate to be in the right place at the right time to have Dan 'Little Dan' Fox jump on board to cover live drums with such little notice. He's an amazing talent and probably the only person in the world who could've filled in for our brother Kristov during this generally shitty turn of events. A very special thanks goes out to him.

"And so on behalf of Marazene and with Kristov's full endorsement, Marazene will continue forward with our Fall tour plans!

"Special thanks and mention go out to members of Mushroomhead who have patiently stood by us as we decided how best to proceed with the tour.

"Marazene have always endured on the very hard work of it's team and the unwavering support of our friends and fans! None of this would be possible without you and we thank you again for sticking by us during this difficult time!"

Kristov Kemp was first diagnosed with intestinal cancer in May 2006 and had surgery to remove a cancerous growth and numerous lymph nodes followed by chemotherapy for much of the remainder of the year. Despite the intensive treatment, he continued to perform with Marazene as they toured the Midwest in support of the self release of their debut album, 'MachiNation'.

Marazene only weeks ago announced their upcoming tour with Megaforce recording artist MUSHROOMHEAD and Metropolis records PSYCLON NINE. The three bands had previously toured together for four weeks in the Spring.

Marazene Working On Sophomore Album

Chicago based Machine / Metalists MARAZENE will head back into the studio for the month of June and July to commence working on a sophomore effort.

"Pre-production on our second album actually began in January before our Spring tour with MUSHROOMHEAD," multi-instrumentalist and co-founder DieTrich Thrall commented. "Nikk and I have about a dozen songs in development and we have a pretty good idea of where we want to take Marazene on round two. It's been a crazy ride for the past twelve months and we're anxious to get in the studio and squeeze out a pile of Machine Metal before we head back out on the road in the Fall."

"We're at the one year mark for 'MachiNation' and we're happy with the reception by friends, fans, and critics alike to both the album and the live show but we're still looking ahead," multi-instrumentalist and co-founder Nikk Skum offered. "We've got a fairly light schedule for June and July and we expect to be on the road from August through November and then back into the studio for however long it takes to make a record that will just totally blow away the first one."

No release date for a second album has been given.

MARAZENE self released their debut album, 'MachiNation', on 06.06.06 and completed two National tours with Megaforce Records MUSHROOMHEAD and Pure Records DEADSTAR ASSEMBLY as well as dozens of Midwestern regional tour dates in support, all under the banner '100% DIY'.

MARAZENE are currently set to co-headline the 'Resurrection of Rock' in Fort Dodge, IA on June 30th at the Larmar Ballroom.

You can check out some of the band's material on their MySpace page.
