Sweden's KATATONIA has issued the following year-end update:
"For KATATONIA, we spent most of on the road continuing to promote our last album 'The Great Cold Distance' and our 'Live Consteranation' DVD. We also had the honor of making a few visits to countries we previously never played, like Portugal, Mexico and Romania, which were all incredible experiences and a good reason to return in the future. Thanks to all our fans for coming out and sharing the atmosphere."
"We're currently spending some time off with our families for the Christmas holidays, before we go back in full focus on the writing again for what shall become our eighth album. Sweden's KATATONIA has issued the following update:
"The members of KATATONIA have now since about two weeks been struggling with everything from the flu, ear infections, pneumonia and sinusitis. Two of the members are still on penicillin antibiotics to get well."
"It's safe to say that KATATONIA never want or intend to cancel our own gigs, and it's never been a common situation in our past. Unfortunately, this time the Burgdorfer gig [on October 20] in Switzerland got suffering and had to be canceled in the last minute."
"Why so late, some might rightfully ask? Well, it's easily explained — because we still intended to play it til the last minute! Eventually it just was not possible. The band was both advised and uncapable of flying or playing — doctor's orders. If we would look for replacements for the sick members, it would be an entirely new band playing and we're sure none wants to go see that."
"With that said, we'll do our best to struggle our way through the Norwegian gig in Oslo [at Screamfest] on Saturday [November 3] and hope for your understanding if we're not in top shape yet."
The organizers of the Atarfe Vega Rock festival — which was scheduled to take place December 1, 2007 at Coliseo Ciudad Atarfe in Atarfe, Granada, Spain and feature appearances by such artists as JOEY BELLADONNA, EXCITER, GRAVE DIGGER, KATATONIA, LACRIMOSA, LIZZY BORDEN, MAYHEM, MY DYING BRIDE and VENOM — have issued the following update:
"As some of you will know due to official statements that can be red in the websites of some of the bands confirmed for the Atarfe Vega Rock Festival 2007, we sadly have to announce that the festival must be postponed until March of 2008, as a result of the damages caused by the floods that the city of Atarfe suffered, and about them all media from Spain informed.
"The '200 litres / m2' heavy downpour has meant 20 euro millions worth damages. These damages, as well as the duties of the engineers of the insurance companies, don't let us celebrate the Atarfe Vega Rock Festival the coming 1st of December in the Bullring and its area, as it was announced.
"We've had a meeting with the Mayor and the local authorities to show them how worried we were about it, and to get a reply about this situation. They've always told us that the festival can take place as expected, and we have to respect it, to ensure the security of people who attend to the festival, bands and staff of the festival.
"We've looked for an alternative location, but once again due to security reasons it's been impossible to find another place in Atarfe. We've even tried to celebrate the festival in another city, but there was no suitable location available, where the festival could take place and we could work in the production required for this festival, taking in account that we didn't have much time.
"After searching without success an alternative location, and once we've reached an agreement with the City Hall and the confirmed bands, we've decided to postpone the festival until March of 2008.
"Except due to date difficulties, we count on all the confirmed bands, as well as with other groups which will be also in the billing.
"With regard to people who have bought their tickets, they'll get their money back in the same stores, where they bought them. We really thank you for your support and loyalty. Besides, we want to compensate those people who have bought a flight ticket to attend to the festival. For this reason they'll get in for free in March, and they'll get free drinks. It's required that they send us an e-mail with the receipt of the flight ticket to verify it.
"We're very sorry about this postponement and the problems that it can mean to you, but no one expected that such a natural disaster could take place in Atarfe. We beg you for comprehension.
"As well as you, this postponement affects us too, because we had booked some bands, which fortunately have understood this setback and have agreed to play in March.
"In the same manner we've bought many international flight tickets for the bands, and now we'll have to buy more to let the groups come and play in March.
"Once again we beg you for understanding what it has happened, because this extraordinary situation is out of our control."
Sweden's KATATONIA check in with the following update:
"Katatonia will unfortunately not be able to make it to the Burgdorfer Rocknight (in Kirchberg, Switzerland - October 20th) and the signing session and has therefore canceled the appearances at both events. Also the Spanish Atarfe Vega rock festival in December (1st in Granada) has been canceled due to the flood damages of the recent storms, but might be rescheduled for March."
Snapper/Peaceville will reissue Katatonia's Tonight's Decision (1999) and Last Fair Deal Gone Down (2001) albums on double gatefold, 180g heavyweight vinyl on November 26th. Each title is limited to 1,500 copies only. Further details can be found here.

Black Metallers FOSCOR have signed with Temple of Darkness Records, the Spanish label specializing in old school black and death metal, for the release of their second album “The Smile of The Sad Ones."
One of the very few Black Metal bands hailing from the Catalan region of Spain, FOSCOR has always included tracks in the Catalan language in its previous releases, and “The Smile of The Sad Ones” is no exception. Partially recorded at the Room Studio in Barcelona and mixed and mastered at the band’s own Noctiflorous Studios by guitarist Falke, the album is due for release in June 2007.
Aside from their own work, the band also contributed to the KATATONIA tribute “December Songs”. A track from the new album can be heard on the band's official website.

Sweden's KATATONIA has issued the following update:
"The promoter Shindy Productions has cancelled KATATONIA's appearance for the upcoming Czech/Prague gig on December 15, according to their official explaination that reads as follows:
"'The problem is that we have beed forced to move the show to the smaller venue due to some problems with the original venue. As far as the new venue has restricted capacity we could not provide the show for all the bands we originally planned to.'
"As we've failed to find a replacement for this date, no show in Czech Republic will take place at this time, but maybe in mid 2007. The announced gigs in Hungary and Serbia are not affected by this and will go on as planned."
Peaceville Records bought rights to the masters of KATATONIA's back catalog previously released on Avantgarde Music and is remasterng and reissuing all the full-length albums in digipack format. First up was "Brave Murder Day" (1996), also featuring the "Sounds of Decay" EP (1997) as a bonus, along with revamped artwork and liner notes from the band. Peaceville has also bought the rights to some of the KATATONIA members' sideprojects, including DIABOLICAL MASQUERADE and OCTOBER TIDE, with reissues to follow in the near future.
KATATONIA's video for the track "Deliberation" has been posted online at YouTube.com. The clip was shot and directed by Charlie Granberg, who also worked with the group on their "My Twin" video.
"Deliberation" is the second single from KATATONIA's new album, "The Great Cold Distance". The follow-up to 2003's "Viva Emptiness" was recorded at Fascination Street studios in the outskirts of Örebro, Sweden and was mastered at the Cutting Room in Stockholm.
