Long running Swedish metallers Katatonia will release their new full-length album "Night is the New Day" in the U.S. on November 10th through Peaceville Records. Katatonia is a staple of the Swedish metal scene, having started out as straight forward death metal and evolving into a more rock oriented band with heavy doom influences. Katatonia's guitarist Anders "Blakkheim" Nyström, who is also involved with Bloodbath and Diabolical Masquerade, spoke with me about the band's upcoming album and their plans to hit the ground running on full headlining tours. Katatonia have announced a signing session at Hellraiser Records on November 7th. The session will take place in Leeds, UK just before their show at Rio's. The address for Hellraiser Records is 97 Kirk Gate.
Peaceville Records has issued the following announcement about seeking fan questions for Katatonia to answer in an upcoming video interview:
"Katatonia’s new album Night Is The New Day is released on Monday. The album has been attracting rave reviews and is eagerly awaited by the band’s legions of fans around the globe. In the lead up to the album’s release the band’s MySpace, facebook and twitter accounts have been overwhelmed by questions and queries from fans.
"As the band have been on tour they’ve been unable to answer most of these so Peaceville have arranged to catch up with them when they are in London next week and put some of these questions to them. The band’s answers will be filmed and posted on the Peaceville YouTube channel next week. If you have a question you’d like to ask the band please email linn@snappermusic.co.uk and please include your name and where you are from. We’ll ask the band as many questions as we can next week.
