Danish metallers RAUNCHY have set "Wasteland Discotheque" as the title of their fourth album, due on June 30 via Lifeforce Records. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Straight to Hell", "Recovery", "Heavy Burden", "To the Lighthouse", "Destroyer", "Somewhere Along the Road", "Thieves", "Western Gutter", "A Dead Epic", "Black House, Glass City", "To Shatter Bliss" and "Get Fighted".
Commented singer Kasper Thomsen: "Lars' [Christensen, guitar] artwork is stunning as hell, very original and not the usual metal artwork you'll see these days, but still in the tradition of what we're all about and known for, hence the album title too."
Kasper Thomsen previously described the new material as "dirty, melodic, thrashy, epic, melancholic and... drum roll... heavy. We are experimenting a lot this time around, with vocals, arrangements and musical expression, but we're not gonna change radically — don't worry! But as a wise man once said: there's no point in writing the same record twice, right?"
Danish metallers RAUNCHY check in with the following update:
"We will enter Jacob Hansen Studios on February 11, 2008 and will be there for three weeks to record the next album. So far 11 songs have taken their final form and we'll spend the coming months to finalize details, and generally just do some 'layering' to give each song the right atmosphere. Furthermore we have a release date for the forthcoming and yet untitled new album which is: June 30, 2008 (via Lifeforce)."
Vocalist Kasper Thomsen of the criminally underrated Danish metallers RAUNCHY has issued the following update:
"Since we've been getting loads of mails lately regarding the next album, on how it is progressing, who's gonna produce or mix it etc. we think it's time for us to give you an update.
"First of all, everything is going smoothly. We have basic ideas for 11 songs, and we have started to record them as demo versions in our home studio in Copenhagen. There's still a long way to go, but the new stuff sounds absolutely promising. It's dirty, melodic, thrashy, epic, melancholic and... drum roll... heavy. We are experimenting a lot this time around, with vocals, arrangements and musical expression, but we're not gonna change radically — don't worry! But as a wise man once said: there's no point in writing the same record twice, right? More...
Denmark’s biggest metal label, Mighty Music, has resurfaced. Founding members Bjarke Ahlstrand and Michael H. Andersen comment: ”We have spend the last couple of years building up Target Distribution, which today is Denmark’s leading music distribution company within alternative music. Having now established Target, we felt it was time to breathe some fresh life (death, actually) into our precious "child", Mighty Music. 1997 was the year we started up, and 2007 will be the year the empire strikes back! This time around we're ready with much bigger facilities and man power, namely that of Target, and we have no doubt Mighty Music will a serious player in the future metal world”

Danish outfit Raunchy have now announced the termination of their relationship with Nuclear Blast Records, stating nothing more than "We would like to thank Nuclear Blast Records for their work regarding our two albums." Regarding their next move, the band states that "We are now looking forward to be working with another record company, who believes in Raunchy, and who has the right capacity, understanding, and musical dedication to take care of our music. If everything falls into place within the coming months, our third "baby" will see the light of day before Christmas or early spring next year."
Raunchy, modern metallers from Denmark, started working on new material. So far, the basic structure of eight songs is finished; vocals, electronics, keyboards etc. will be added over the next few months. As far as the general musical direction, the band states: “All we can say is that it sounds like … Raunchy! Expect some new things and a lot of melody. In other words, it's going to be: brutal, melodic, fresh, and a fucking heavy monster.”
The album is still untitled, producing will be Jacob Hansen, mixing will be Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Mnemic)
Regarding the lyrics, new singer Kasper Thomsen says:
As I read a lot of poetry, I have an interest in writing lyrics that deal with other things than pussy and whiskey. The lyrics on the next album are going to be more dark, existentialistic and related to classic themes such as life/death/love/hate. Some will be pure fiction, some will be related to my own life.
