Below is our complete Propagandhi news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.
Shai Hulud, recently returned from performances in Australia as part of the Soundwave Festival, will get back in the van and head out on tour in North America with Thy Will Be Done today.
The tour begins in York, PA and also includes support from up-and-coming acts Altars and Beyond the Shore. After this tour wraps up on April 7th, Shai Hulud will board flights for Europe and tour with Propagandhi. Shai Hulud's entire confirmed list of dates can be found below.
Guitarist and found member Matt Fox reflects on the band's year thus far: "2013, what a year… Thus far, we've shared new music with our friends and supporters who encourage us and keep us alive. We were fortunate enough to have just returned from the Soundwave festival in Australia where we made new friends, and saw the bands whose albums are the primary reasons we play the music we do (Thank you Master Of Puppets, Reign In Blood, Among The Living, and Blood, Sweat, And No Tears).
"We soon leave for Europe with Propagandhi, another one of our favorite bands, and what's more… in just two days we share the stage with some of the best friends we have ever made in our years of touring, Thy Will Be Done. Joining us on this jaunt are our soon to be friends, Altars, and Beyond The Shore. This is a lot of love and appreciation for a band of self-proclaimed pure misanthropists constantly talking about their 'Profound Hatred Of Man.' Who knew…
"We're happy to contradict ourselves in this fashion. Come share the love." More...
In anticipation of the upcoming September 4th Epitaph release, Propagandhi is streaming the brand new record "Failed States" in its entirety. The album stream comes as the band prepares for an all-out North American tour beginning in September.
Fans can stream the new record by going to Propagandhi's Facebook page or through the player below. The following press release was also issued about the album:
"Failed States is a milestone in Propagandhi's musical journey as they willfully careen between brazen metallic tendencies and the ragged punk rock roots of their earlier work, picking up where their critically-acclaimed 2009 release, Supporting Caste, left off.
"The first surprise for listeners will be the opening salvo 'Note To Self,' a sprawling, swerving, cinematic journey through the mind of a smoldering first-world inmate, escalating into the full throttle siege of the title track, 'Failed States.' The ride doesn't get any less outrageous from there, reaching new levels of volatility with fierce, exacting tracks like the album closer 'Duplicate Keys Icaro (An Interim Report)' and the borderline barbaric 'Rattan Cane.' Keep your hands and feet inside the car at all times, people.
"Propagandhi has created a truly monumental sixth album that is the band’s most forward thinking and musically varied albums to date. Failed States is not simply proof of Propagandhi's continued dedication to pushing their musical boundaries, but an evocative (and provocative) meditation on human nature, meaning and life under an expanding, planet-wide technocracy." Propagandhi has emerged with new material as Lambgoat.com premieres the new single “Duplicate Keys Icaro (An Interim Report).” The song is released in anticipation of the band's September 4th Epitaph release "Failed Sates." Check out the track in the player below, or via Lambgoat.
“I would say Failed States is a little less ‘modern’ sounding than Supporting Cast(e) in terms of sonics, “ says Chris Hannah. “It’s probably a more accurate portrayal of what we sound like in our jam space....it sometimes feels like we haven’t had a record that genuinely sounds like us playing in a room together since the mid-90s. I felt more surprised—in a good sense— by Failed States when it was done than I did about Supporting Cast(e)."
The following press release was also issued about the album: "The result is one of the band’s most forward thinking and musically varied albums to date. Failed States is not simply proof of Propagandhi's continued dedication to pushing their musical boundaries, but an evocative (and provocative) meditation on human nature, meaning and life under an expanding, planet-wide technocracy. Ranging from dynamic, progressive rock of 'Note To Self' to the accelerated heaviness of 'Duplicate Keys Icaro (An Interim Report)' and blazing thrash cuts like 'Hadron Collision' and 'Things I Like,' Propagandhi has created a truly monumental sixth album. Fans can pre-order 'Failed States' now at The Epitaph Store."
Additionally, Propagandhi will kick off a North American tour in September with support from Comback Kid. Dates are listed below. More...
Celebrating three decades of life in the political and musical hinterlands, Propagandhi will release sixth studio album, "Failed States," on September 4th. The album’s first single “Failed States” debuts today and can be heard now in the player below. Additionally, Propagandhi will kick off a North American tour in September with support from Comback Kid. Dates are listed below.
“Our goal is always to create a no-holds-barred, forward-thinking, tip-of-the-hat to the giants -- Voivod, Rush, NoMeansNo, SNFU, Sacrifice, Razor, Guilt Parade – that have gone before us,” says vocalist and guitarist, Jesus H. Chris. “We are in their debt and take the mission seriously. Even when we're singing about liking Kurt Russell as Captain Ron, we take the mission seriously. Failed States is our most formidable – and to me personally, our most surprising -- attempt at conjuring the numinous from the quotidian. Yes, I had to look those words up.”
The track listing is:
1. Note to Self - 5:56
2. Failed States - 1:54
3. Devil's Creek - 2:32
4. Rattan Cane - 3:06
5. Hadron Collision - 1:37

Exclaim.ca has issued the following announcement about Canada's Sacrifice releasing an upcoming split with Propagandhi:
"Some more details have surfaced regarding the much-ballyhooed Propagandhi and Sacrifice split seven-inch. As we reported back in August, the record will contain Propagandhi's cover of Corrosion of Conformity's hardcore/metal crossover classic "Technocracy" and Sacrifice's take on "Anthem," Rush's classic piece of Canadian prog rock. Word has dropped that this little slice of punk/metal heaven now has a release date and the suitably awesome cover art has been unveiled.
"The record, which is limited to 1,000 copies, is due out December 10 through Winnipeg's War on Music Records. The label will be taking pre-orders on their website in a couple of weeks. For the time being, you can email them directly at email@example.com to place a pre-order. The cover art, as seen here, pays awesome homage to iconic Rush and Corrosion of Conformity album covers, and was hand-drawn by Propagandhi bassist/vocalist Todd Kowalski."

Canadian thrashers Sacrifice have announced Propagandhi as the co-headliners at their Winnipeg show on November 7th at the Garrick Centre. Support will come from Evil Survives and Striker.
“It has been well documented that our music has been inspiring to Propagandhi," explains Sacrifice front man Rob Urbinati. “We didn’t think this would ever be possible, but we will be finally sharing the stage in Winnipeg. I urge every Sacrifice fan to check out their album 'Supporting Caste,' and especially the song 'A Banger’s Embrace,' detailing the experience of our reunion show in 2006.”
Sacrifice will also be performing at the Opera House in Toronto on November 21st. Both shows coincide with the Canadian release of “The Ones I Condemn," which is in stores early November on Sonic Unyon.
