Austrian death metal act Mastic Scum featuring ex-Watch Me Bleed vocalist Maggo Wenzel, released a lyric video for the new track "Controlled Collapse." The song appears on the upcoming release "CTRL," which is out on December 6th via Massacre Records. The album is the band's fifth studio release.

Mastic Scum has been busy finishing upcoming album "C T R L" in the past few months. "C T R L" will be released on December 6th, 2013 via Massacre Records.
The band recorded 11 tracks including a re-recorded demo song at the Grindlab Studio in several studio sessions this spring. Photos from the recording sessions are available here. The band also comments on the album:
"It depicts a futuristic vision of the technological evolution and development of society - the need to control and the inevitable collapse of a system!"
The cover artwork - featured below - was designed by Lukas Lancko of IsisDesignStudio. Mike Kronstorfer mixed the album at Metalforge Studio and it was mastered by Tue Madsen at Antfarm Studio. You can catch the band live on these dates:

Mastic Scum has commissioned Isis Design Studio for the artwork of band's the upcoming 5th album. Lukas Lancko has already started the work on some deadly grinding images for the cover art.
Mastic Scum's Harry Gandler comments: "We know Lukas and his great work since a long time and we are happy to work with him together for the new release. We have in mind a special idea for the artwork and he´s the perfect choice for the images and atmosphere we are looking for." More...

"We are currently in the studio working on our upcoming 5th album! We are working on 11 tracks, the new songs are shaping up in a new brutal style and also on a higher technical level.

Massacre Records has checked in with the following announcement about Mastic Scum working on an upcoming new album:
"Good news from Mastic Scum! The guys from Austria are currently working on their new album, which they plan to release in spring 2013! 3 years after their last album 'Dust,' Mastic Scum is back with a heavy load of new riffs and structures.
"Don't miss members of Mastic Scum as well as members of their label mates Disbelief and Eye Beyond Sight on December 8th at the annual Dime-Bash in Vienna. You'll find further information right here."
The band also stated: "The new songs are shaping up in a new brutal style and also on a higher technical level. With this release we went back to our roots and also made a step forward to new structures and rhythms. Be prepared!"
Mastic Scum, which recently signed to Massacre Records, is going to co-headline Austria's Eine In Teich Festival.
The festival takes place from July 27th until July 28th at the Neugarten Almseehütte Gerlitzen and will also feature Irdorath. More information is available here and the lineup is as follows:
Austrian brutal death metal band Mastic Scum has signed a worldwide deal with Massacre Records. The four-piece was originally formed in 1992. A year later, the band released their first 12' EP "Ephemeral Cerebral Butchery". Several demos, EPs and split CDs followed, leading to the release of their debut album "Zero" in the summer of 1999 through Noise Variations.
Within the following years, MASTIC SCUM released their albums "Scar" (Cudgel Agency, 2002), "Mind" (Cudgel Agency, 2005) and the latest album "Dust" (Twilight Rec., 2009), which was nominated for an Amadeus Austrian Music Award in 2010.
The band has already played a lot of club and festival shows in Europe, Asia and the US, joining Marduk and Vader at their "Funeral Nation Tour" through Europe in early 2010, for example!
There were a few line-up changes in the past years and when Alex joined vocalist Maggo, guitarist Harry and drummer Man in spring 2010 as bassist, MASTIC SCUM were stronger than ever!
Guitarist Harry commented on the signing:
"We are proud to announce that we signed a worldwide deal with one of our favorite labels. We know Massacre Records since quite a long time and are happy to be a part of it now!"
The band's currently working on their fifth studio album, which is scheduled to be released in fall 2012!

Austrian death metal/grindcore veterans Mastic Scum has announced that their former vocalist Will passed away last Friday (March 23rd,) reportedly as a result of an automobile accident. A statement from the band reads as follows:
"In deep sadness we have to announce that our friend and ex-member Will died by accident on Friday, March 23rd. We are all very shocked about his tragic death. Will joined Mastic Scum in 1993 and left the band in 2008. We had a great time and lot of experiences together. R.I.P. Will - we'll see us in another life!"

Austrian death metal band MASTIC SCUM has finished the work on their new music video for "Construcdead" for which Metalunderground.com is hosting the exclusive premiere. You can watch the video below.
The video was filmed in Innsbruck (Austria) and was produced and directed by Sulinor. "Construcdead" comes from Mastic Scum's new album, "Dust," which was released in November 2009.

Mastic Scum was recently nominated for the "Austrian Music Award 2010" in the "Hard & Heavy" category, along with Belphegor, Days of Loss and Boon & Kontrust. You can vote for your favorite band once per week through August 31st. The "Amadeus Awards" will take place in Vienna on 16th of September.
