Baroness has announced the dates for their first-ever Australian tour. The band will be touring in support of their brand new album, "Blue Record," as part of the Soundwave Festival.

The track will be the album’s introduction, “Bullhead’s Psalm”, and its second song, “The Sweetest Curse”, posted as one. When you are at Mayhem Fest this year, you can visit the Revolver tent to pick up your free Limited Edition Revolver/Mayhem special mini magazine. The magazine is just like the regular Revolver magazine, only smaller. It is 42 pages and features 26 bands such as Job For a Cowboy, Anthrax, Darkest Hour, Baroness, and Dying Fetus. The magazine is jam packed with exclusive interviews, but what is not included is the exclusive 21 track compilation, which you can download online in it's entirety for free.

"Savannah, GA's BARONESS have recently completed work on their second full-length album. The follow-up to 2007's critically-acclaimed Red Album was recorded in Dallas, TX with producer / engineer John Congleton (EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY, THE POLYPHONIC SPREE, BLACK MOUNTAIN) and will see an October 2009 international release date. Two exclusive in-studio entries chronicling the first two weeks in the studio can be accessed here and here.
"Additionally, BARONESS kick-off a four-week North American tour today, July 9th, alongside Maryland's CLUTCH. This tour will also include a free show in Chicago, IL this weekend as part of the annual Kuma's Corner Block Party. Savannah, GA’s Baroness has announced a month long North American tour alongside Clutch. The summer tour will kick off on July 9th and include a free show in Chicago, IL as part of the annual Kuma’s Corner Block Party.
Baroness has recently entered the studio to begin work on their second full length and follow up to 2007’s "Red Album." The band is working with the Grammy-nominated producer / engineer John Congleton (EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY, THE POLYPHONIC SPREE, THE ROOTS, BUDDY MILES, BLACK MOUNTAIN) on the still untitled album. Relapse Records has issued the following announcement about Baroness preparing to record a new studio album:
"Savannah, GA's BARONESS will head to Dallas, TX next week to begin work on a brand new full-length and follow-up to 2007's critically-acclaimed Red Album.
"BARONESS will be working with the Grammy-nominated producer / engineer John Congleton (EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY, THE POLYPHONIC SPREE, THE ROOTS, BUDDY MILES, BLACK MOUNTAIN) on the band's second full-length. The still untitled album is expected to see a fall 2009 release date."
BIRDS OF PREY's new full-length album, "The Hellpreacher," is currently streaming in its entirety at this location. "The Hellpreacher" saw its North American release on April 28th on CD and LP and will be released internationally on Monday, May 4th.
"The Hellpreacher," the follow-up album to last year's Sulfur & Semen, was recorded last fall at Sniper Studio in North Carolina. BIRDS OF PREY, who's members include those of ALABAMA THUNDERPUSSY, BEATEN BACK TO PURE, BARONESS, and MUNICIPAL WASTE, recently posted the album's opening tracks "Momma" and "Juvie" as preview tracks on the band's MySpace page.
Georgia metallers Baroness have issued the following update about new dates and working on new material:
"We will be playing a string of shows in the UK and Europe before Roadburn Festival in April. There will be more posted in the following weeks.. (including Spain and Poland!). So, please check back.

The Scion Rock Fest will take place on Saturday, February 28th at the Masquerade in Atlanta, Georgia. The show will go from noon until midnight and attendees must be at least 18 years old. The line-up is as follows:

COLISEUM’s performance from this year’s South By Southwest music festival has recently been posted online courtesy of MetalKult.com. This five-song set from the Relapse Records SXSW showcase can be viewed now at this location.
COLISEUM is currently on tour along the west coast with TORCHE and CLOUDS. The Louisville, KY three-piece will perform a special election night show in Los Angeles, CA this evening before flying to Japan with TORCHE for a brief tour together.

GENGHIS TRON, who are currently on tour across Canada as part of the Exclaim Magazine Aggressive Tendencies Tour 2008 alongside label-mates BARONESS, has recently announced more dates for their headlining European tour this fall. This tour will kick-off on October 28th in Berlin, Germany and will include support from BEHOLD...THE ARCTOPUS for the duration.
GENGHIS TRON will also headline two-week's worth of dates in the U.S. immediately following their current Canadian run. GENGHIS TRON have announced more Fall tour dates in support of their acclaimed new album "Board Up The House."
GENGHIS TRON will first join Omaha, NE’s THE FAINT for a number of shows on their upcoming headlining tour. GENGHIS TRON will meet up with THE FAINT, along with JAGUAR LOVE, in Worcester, MA on August 20th, touring through the Northeast and Midwest. More...
Opeth will make their way back to American shores this fall for their first headline trek in support of the recently released "Watershed." The tour will commence on September 16 in Buffalo and run for six weeks, with High on Fire serving as main support. Nachtmystium will open the first half of the tour, with Baroness taking over that slot on October 6.
Opeth enjoyed the main support slot on the first ever Progressive Nation Tour last spring, opening for labelmates Dream Theater. The band spent the summer on the European tour circuit but is thrilled to be bring its always unique blend of death/folk/prog metal back to American audiences this fall.

BARONESS will first team-up with label-mates GENGHIS TRON and Vancouver's BISON for the Exclaim Aggressive Tendencies Tour 2008. This cross-Canada tour will kick-off on September 23rd in Montreal, QC before heading west, concluding the tour in Portland, OR.
Immediately following, BARONESS will join OPETH and HIGH ON FIRE for a three-week U.S. tour starting in San Francisco, CA on October 6th. This tour will take BARONESS to the east coast where they will break-off after the Baltimore, MD date to embark on their own headlining tour in the Northeast.
