Travelling around as much as we have over the last 11 years we know how difficult it can be for bands to break out and play gigs in new areas. Some promoters just won't take a chance on out of town bands. Back four years after the band's label debut, U.K. act Awake return with a brand new album titled "Forever More" via Lion Music on October 14th, 2011. You can check out the new song "Bleed For You" after the jump, and the band also commented on the upcoming album:
"Taking a step onwards from their debut 'Illumination', Awake have delivered a heavier grittier sound second time round that retains the melodies and depth of its critically acclaimed predecessor. 'Forever More' also marks the first album recorded with new guitar duo, the brothers Andy and Steven Coles who have brought stability to the band not to mention bringing a new dimension to heavier sound heard on the new album.
"The journey for this album started around a year after 'Illumination' was released. The bands former guitarist left (Richard Hall) and the group were keen to move on with new members when writing the new album. After thorough and extensive auditioning Andy Coles joined around June 2008 and the early ideas for the new album were formed. 'Release Me' was the first song written and came from a keyboard 'riff' that Craig came in with. Steven Coles joined the band by February 2009 and a break in writing was taken for the band to go out on the road with Magnum again. After this writing resumed and the album took shape over the next year or so. Pre-production took place in February 2010, final adjustments were made (including the inclusion of female backing vocals-Jennifer Hardy), and full recording took place April/May 2010."
On the "Forever More" lyrical slant the band states, "We wanted to convey our own personal experiences with love and loss and the hardships you face when you lose someone close to you. We hope that this is something people in general can relate to and we hope they can find meaning within the songs. More...

U.K. metallers Awake have checked in with the following statement about their appearance at the Wisbech festival:
"Hello, we would like to thank you to everybody that made it down to the rather wet Wisbech rock festival yesterday (6.6.10). We were very disappointed to only play four songs out of a planned hour and a half set. This was totally out of our control. The festival was in running late due to power problems earlier in the day and just before going on we were told that the power would be cut early regardless of our protests.
"In fact, the plug was literally pulled a minute after we finished. Regardless of the short set, we did enjoy ourselves and were very pleased to see the people of Wisbech banging their heads to AWAKE! See you at our next festival, Riverside, Stamford July 3rd."
U.K. metallers Awake have issued the following statement about their upcoming appearance at the Wisbech Rock festival:
"Hello. We just wanted to take a minute to remind you all that this Sunday ( 06/06/10 ) we are headlining Wisbech rock festival in Wisbech park, as advertised in Kerrang! this week. First band on at 11am and we hit the stage around 7.30pm. The weather is looking great so far and its FREE! So it would be great to see everyone there. Looking forward to playing new songs from the album along with some well loved tracks from 'Illumination' Take it steady & see you there."
The upcoming Awake tour dates are as follows:
6/6 2010 WISBECH ROCK FESTIVAL CAMBRIDGESHIRE, UK, UNITED KINGDOM
7/3 2010 RIVERSIDE FESTIVAL stamford, uk

7/17 2010 East Riding Rock Festival Beverley, Northeast , GB

"Hello there all! First things first, we have added yet another date to our calendar where you can get down the front and mosh until your heart’s content! Saturday July 3rd on the Marquee stage, at Riverside Festival, Stamford. Lots of great bands playing that day, so put it in your diaries.
"Not long until Wisbech rock fest now, Sunday 6th June. We are headlining this year and hit the stage around 7:30, the bands start at 11am, so get yourselves down there. Along with select tracks from our Illumination album, we shall be treating you to lots of new tracks from the forth coming album. It is our first album with our guitarists, Andy & Steven Coles.
"Andy has worked with ex-prodigy & well respected Gizz Butt, so expect some thunderous new riffs on this album. The tracks are really something to get your teeth into, while still holding on to the melodies & hooks that AWAKE are respected for. Save some energy for when we get on stage, as Al Barrow (Magnum bass player) once put it, 'A force to be reckoned with when the stage lights go on, playing it live and loud. The only way.' More...
