Negura Bunget Splits With Keyboardist, Vocalist
Romania's Negura Bunget has checked in with the following announcement about parting ways with keyboardist Inia Dinia and vocalist Chakravartin:
"With a sad heart we have to announce that another major chapter in the history of Negura Bunget has ended. Long time member Inia Dinia is no longer part of the band. It was her decision alone to leave Negura Bunget in pursuit of other musical and personal paths and we can't but respect her choice. We thank her for everything she put in the band over the years and hope her musical path will only grow further in the future.
"In related context singer Chakravartin is also no longer member of Negura Bunget. Different personal and musical reasons untangled our paths. We wish his good luck as well on their future endeavors! Even more changes within the band are likely to occur as well in the near future.
"As things happened a bit unexpected our plans for the immediate future, namely an EP as presentation of the new album, and a Southern European tour in April/May, are hanging in the air for the moment. We will make a decision about everything in the following days.
"This is definitely a hard moment for what remains of the band, but what does not kill you only makes you stronger. I hope we'll find within ourselves the wisdom to shape the right path for the future of Negura Bunget.
"Obviously we are now looking for some dedicate musicians to complete the line-up of the band, so if you feel you have what it takes to be part of Negura Bunget, please get in contact with us by contact@negurabunget.com."

Negura Bunget Comments On Upcoming Album
Romanian metal act Negura Bunget has checked in with the following statement about working on the new "Tau" album:
"The work on the first part of the Transilvanian Trilogy, entitled Tau is progressing well. We started the pre-production for a while, and we plan to begin recordings in our very own Negura Music studio in September.
"Naturally we teamed up with long time friend and visual artist Dan Florin Spataru / Encoil Mark for the graphical presentation of the album. As Tau is the very first new full length material we are releasing with Prophecy Productions, you can expect some spectacular productions.
"On the more complex visual side, the non-narrative movie is also progressing towards a spiritual interpretation of the Transilvanian nature, under the masterful supervision of our friend and multimedia artist Daniel Dorobantu.
"Finally, for the audio parts we are happy to announce we will team up with Mr. Mihai Neagoe / Mtz for the recording and mixing of the album. After working for years along us and other bands on tours and festivals and completing his master degree on Music and Media Technologies at Trinity College in Dublin / Ireland, he now joins us and Negura Music studios full time. Negura Bunget Drummer Undergoing Surgery
Drummer Negru from Romanian metal act Negura Bunget has issued the following announcement about having to undergo surgery:
"Thanks a lot everybody for you all kind words and best wishes, I really appreciate it! Throughout the U.S. tour I had some discomfort with my knees, so when I checked it out after the tour I got the news that surgery is needed on both knees to fix some problems with the meniscus that probably accumulated in time.
"The first surgery is done, and seems to be successful. The second one will be done in a few weeks so that we can keep all our band schedules intact. There's no need to worry, we'll be up again in no time!"

Negura Bunget Satisfies Fans' Transylvanian Hunger
May 19, 2012, San Antonio, Texas—Watching Behemoth play material off “…From the Pagan Vastlands” is the closest most Americans get to Eastern European black metal. Many of these artists either don’t play live, don’t have the money to make it to America or fall into the familiar trap of not getting their Visa application in on time. Negura Bunget is one of the few bands of this fold you’ll find on a flyer. However, not until just a month ago could one find them on a flyer promoting a concert in America. Negura Bunget is not your average slash-and-burn-satanic black metal group. Hailing from Transylvania, the group blends traditional Romanian folk music with atmospheric black metal to illuminate the “dark foggy forests” of the primeval Carpathian Mountains.
Negura Bunget is not a band for banging heads, bodies or fists. They work more on the mind’s eye, recreating a world where superstition rules the land. This is perfectly fine for one band, but if the all the bands on the bill took a similar approach; I would have witnessed and partaken in a snooze fest. Thanks to promoters Beyond the Dark Horizon, we were treated to a diverse assortment of acts. More...

Primordial Comments On Paganfest Tour
Ireland's Primordial will be co-headlining the Paganfest tour 2012, which is kicking off in Oberhausen, Germany the 16th of March 2012!
Primordial singer A.A. Nemtheanga comments: "Never say never right? So we announce our participation in next March's Paganfest festival tour across Central Europe. Anyone who has read any of my various ramblings and musings over the last year or two will know my feelings about the current state of club touring and the industry in general. It's an ugly business but we are definitely ugly enough and getting uglier every year so strangely enough the stars aligned and the dates fell into place for us. Anyone who knows anything about Primordial knows how hard it has become for us to commit to lengthy touring as the years go by. The window of opportunity represents possibly the only opportunity we will have to do a longer tour for 'Redemption' across Europe so as they say…needs must and better the devil you know. Never as I say say never.
"Regardless of the fact that the general tone of this tour is a little different. It has a more pronounced mix of light and shade. We have our Icelandic brethren Solstafir taking part which I would have thought alongside ourselves should sweeten the deal for those who may feel the pagan/heathen festival tour holds nothing for them, Romanian shamans NeguraBunget also filling out the darker quotient of the tour. Heidevolk stand firm for proud old values and having taken part in Eluveitie's acoustic album personally my feeling on those guys and girls should be apparent! I support them and the cultural significance they represent. I'm not here to sound the rallying cry for a dying venture (i.e touring) or sound the death knell for Primordial club touring we are simply taking part, we have some interesting and new things planned and the tour has some light and shade, which may be difficult for some people to take but this is how it is. Of course some territories are missed and we apologize for this but this is a mixture of market forces and pragmatism and unfortunately nothing to do with us, we hope to fill in the blanks over time. Bottom line, Primordial is touring….this is the most important fact and you know what you are gonna get…blood sweat and fire so see you on the field…"

Eluveitie To Headline European Paganfest 2012
Swiss folk metal outfit Eluveitie has been confirmed as the headliner for the 2012 edition of the travelling Paganfest event. Joining them on the trek will be Primordial, Negura Bunget, Heidevolk and Solstafir. Speaking on the tour, Eluveitie singer Chrigel Glanzmann stated: "Of course we look forward to the Paganfest Tour 2012! One hand, we can not wait to show our fans the songs from our new album 'Helvetios' live (and we will do this extensively on Paganfest). On the other hand, we look forward to tour with such cool bands and to be on the road with good friends, like the Irish guys from Primordial. We are convinced of the line-up of the upcoming Paganfest. It is an honor for us to headline this package of great bands. We are confident that each evening on the Paganfest tour will be a musical experience that you will never forget! See you there!"

Negura Bunget Comments On Upcoming Releases

"Negura Bunget is ready to announce the next major step that will shape the evolution of the band in the following years. After the Vîrstele pamîntului album, which got some amazing response from audience and media, we fell it is our purpose to take everything to an even higher level. With this in mind, our next project is a musical and visual trilogy centered around the Transilvanian lands. It is both our personal and band destiny to undertake this exploration and presentation of the things that inspired us since the very beginning. Everybody can rest assure, we are not here to perpetuate the typical stereotypes, but rather unveil the unknown treasures the Transilvanian lands are so rich in. Be prepared to discover a whole new dimension of what these lands are all about.
"Each part of the trilogy will evolve into fully developed musical and visual sides which we are developing together with our friend and visual artist Daniel Dorobantu and our friend and modern composer Dan Popescu.
"The first part of the trilogy, entitled Tau (engl. your) will unveil the natural landscapes, by exploring 9 unique natural places, with their mystique, atmosphere, legends and meanings. The second part will explore the human components, the traditions and practices, the connection with the nature, the way this relation shaped the spiritual horizon of the local inhabitants. The last part will focus on the spiritual elements, the values that defined and made these lands immortal. These are the first completely new materials we are releasing with Lupus Lounge/Prophecy Productions. More...

Negura Bunget Previews New Track
Romanian progressive metal act Negura Bunget has checked in with the following update:
"We are happy to present a preview track from the upcoming 'Poarta de dincolo' MCD, 'La marginea lumii (Outskirts of the world).' The track is now available on Reverbnation, Facebook and Myspace. The MCD will be released officially on April 25.
"The material was recorded at Negura Music studio. As the name suggests it, 'Poarta de
dincolo' (A gate from the above or Carrying from the other side) focuses on exploring the relation between worlds, either from above, under or beyond... The four tracks of the MCD present a spiritual travel to the possibilities of our inner being, reflected on the world above and beyond, on our ethereal and material being. Symbolical meanings engraved in the deepest corners of our mind open the world’s mysteries… Long forgotten symbols empower the soul to recognize and expand the limits of our very existence. All is inside, all is on the outside.
"'Poarta de dincolo' is the last Negura Bunget material to be released by code666 Records marking the end of a collaboration started almost 10 years ago."
