Season of Mist has announced the signing of Norwegian black metallers URGEHAL. The band comments:
"We're glad to announce the signing with Season of Mist Underground activists. After 17 years of existence it's about damn time to spread this Satanic perversity through something greater. The Underground Activists division fits us perfect with the total freedom and underground spirit we always aimed, but with a major distribution and support. We're looking forward for the future co-operation with SOM and remember comrades, the real Black Metal is still underground."

Agonia records will release a debut album of T.Nefas' solo project. The band's name is ANGST SKVADRON and the first album is entitled "Flukt". According to the label "it's a real must have for all fans of Ved Buenes Ende, In The Woods.., Kvist and early Burzum."
An introduction to ANGST SKVADRON from T. Nefas himself: "The 'solo' album of T.Nefas (Urgehal/Beastcraft) brings you a eerie mix of 70's prog rock/metal blended with early 90's black metal. These 8 tracks is the true sound of disharmony, misantrophy, melancoly and insanity. ANGST SKVADRON plays depressive, psychedelic, alien death metal. Or 'what ever the hell you like to call it music'!!! This album will fuck you up one way or another..."
All music and lyrics were written between 2005-2008 by Trondr Nefas (guitars, bass, piano, vocals). Other participants on the album include Lars F. Frøyslie from In Lingua Mortua, Wobbler, Endezzma ect. (drums, melotrone, synth), and Trine-Lise Akselsen (female vocals). The album was recorded and mixed by T.Nefas and Lars F. Frøyslie between January & March 2008.
The full line-up for SHINING’s one-off show at Oslo’s Maiden Club on Saturday 10 November has now been completed. Joining SHINING, will be Norwegian Black Metallers, ENDEZZMA, a band that features members of URGEHAL, RAGNAROK and VULTURE LORD. Opening for the bands will be the psychopunkers HAUST.
Described by front man and SHINING creator Niklas Kvarforth as a “very special ceremony”, the show will be the only appearance of the band on Norwegian soil in 2007, and, according to Kvarforth, possibly the only one for some time to come. With a door limited to only 300, ticket demand is expected to be high.
SHINING has also been confirmed to replace GORGOROTH as headliners at the Hellflame Festival due to be held in Osnabrück, Germany, on the 8th September. Never one to stint on either words or actions, Kvarforth has promised fans they can look forward to “a night of blood, fire and death”.
Tracks from SHINING can be heard on the band’s MySpace page.
TAAKE frontman Hoest — whose "revealing" performance (photo#1, photo#2, photo#3) at the 2003 Inferno Festival in Norway remains the source of much comedy — has once again found himself at the center of controversy. During the Norwegian black metal band's March 20, 2007 concert in Essen, Germany, Hoest appeared on stage with a swastika symbol drawn on his chest (photo) — a move which didn't go over well with most of the fans and members of the heavy metal media who were present at the gig.
Responding to the public outrage which followed the performance, Hoest has issued the following statement:
"TAAKE is not a political Nazi band, etc. We certainly didn't expect the current threat reactions, as everyone should know by now that our whole concept is built upon provocation and anything evil- and death-related. We will now censor certain symbols for the rest of the [European] tour [with URGEHAL and KOLDBRANN], and we truly apologize to all of our collaborators who might get problems because of the Essen swastika scandal (except for the Untermensch owner of that club; you can go suck a Muslim)!"
As a result of Hoest's actions, TAAKE has now been officially removed from the billing of the the Party.San Metal Open Air festival (set to take place August 9-11, 2007 in Bad Berka, Germany) and the organizers of the Ragnarök festival (scheduled for March 30-31, 2007 in Lichtenfels, Germany) are expected to follow suit.
TAAKE's third album, "Doedskvad", was released in 2005 via Dark Essence Records. The band had previously released two albums on the Wounded Love label: "Nattestid..." (1999) and "Bjoergvin" (2002). "Doedskvad" is the last installment in this trilogy.
