Vocalist Che Snelting has officially left Dutch metalcore band Born From Pain after ten years with the group. Snelting has released the following statement:
"In the summer of '97 I bought a ticket for a rollercoaster ride called Born From Pain, and got more than I bargained for. Ever since the very first beginning I played so many shows, met even more great people and learned a lot about the world, music and especially me as a person. During the last year and a half however, I started struggling with my priorities and found out I wasn't into the band that much anymore as I was in our early career. This resulted in one of the hardest decisions I ever had to make in my life; me quitting Born From Pain. I found myself not being able to put energy into the band outside of the live shows, and later it became even harder and harder for me to get into the tour van to go to shows. I felt like I was lightly burnt out by a lot of things and especially Born From Pain. This led to me estranging from the band, to a certain extent, and I started thinking about a life without Born From Pain. The more I thought about it, the more I started to like the idea about having a regular life, a normal career and different hobbies without Born From Pain 'dictating' my life.
Like I said I had some great times with this band, but this is as far as I can take it. I have no more energy nor the will to push it any further than I have done up until this point. Me staying in the band would only keep the band behind, and that is not something I wish to happen to Born From Pain. Born From Pain has always been a band that pushed its limits and a band is only as strong as its weakest link. I will still be active in the music scene, but more on the background, like managing and advising bands. I will be playing music as well but that will be on a hobby basis. I'm happy the other guys decided to keep the machine rolling and that we're able to split in friendship. I'd like to thank everyone who supported me and Born From Pain throughout the years as well as GSR music, Metal Blade Records, Hollowman, M.A.D. and their entire staff for believing in this crazy thing that I helped create...Last but not least I wish Karl, Rob, Roel and Dom all the luck they deserve with Born From Pain in the future. The war is still on..."
Notably, First Blood singer Carl Schwartz is filling in for Snelting during Born From Pain's current European tour with First Blood.

Hatebreed will headline a full U.S. tour set to commence in September and run through October. The bill will feature support from the Black Dahlia Murder throughout, plus Napalm Death, Exodus, First Blood and Despised Icon. "We've never gone out on a headline run immediately following Ozzfest, and we've always wanted to, and we always felt we needed to, but there were always plans that superseded that," frontman Jamey Jasta said. "We're taking out a very extreme bill. We're going to call it maybe the Monsters of Mosh, something crazy like that. But it will be a good way for us to give back to the underground, extreme scenes, and also for us to go out and headline for the first time in a long, long time and do a full hour-and-a-half set with our new staging and new gear."

First Blood, the well known but elusive hardcore band from northern California, featuring Carl Schwartz (former bassist of Terror) on vocals, has signed with Trustkill Records
First Blood will enter Castle Ultimate in Oakland, CA, next week to begin recording their debut album for Trustkill. The album is set for release May 2, 2006. Check the band out on a full US tour with Comeback Kid, Ignite, and This Is Hell February through April. Dates to follow.
Carl talks about the signing to the label saying, "Josh (Grabelle, Trustkill Pres) approached me about releasing something on Trustkill. I was psyched as he did such a great job promoting Terror, but because of my obligations to that band I had to say no. When I recently left Terror, Josh and I continued our discussion and decided to go full speed ahead and make First Blood a full-time endeavor." Carl, a main contributor to First Blood's lyrics and music along-side guitarist Kyle Dixon (Alcatraz, Ex-Embrace The End), elaborates: "Most of my lyrics deal with topics important to me; the ups and downs, frustrations and discontent with certain things in this world. Hopefully people can relate to my words and realize that they are not alone, and become inspired and confident enough to stand for what they believe to find a place for themselves in this world."
California's First Blood, featuring Carl Schwartz and Doug Weber of Terror, have finally finished recording two songs for their long-awaited split with Blacklisted. The split will be released by Deathwish Inc. as part of their Dead Man's Hand series. Meanwhile, the group will be flying to Florida for two shows in November, below.

BLACKLISTED are one of Philly's newest and most intense hardcore bands. An outpouring of real hardcore, spitting forth all the disgust, pessimism, and heart that a band could ever collectively create. BLACKLISTED are uniquely raw, sincere, and undeniably in your face. The band will also be releasing their debut CDEP, "Our Youth Is Wasted," in February on Stillborn Records.
