The fantastically named band Nashville Pussy likes to be on tour. So much so that they must have spent at least twice as many nights on the road as they have at home since they began playing their dirty, bluesy rock back in 1996. Out on their most recent tour, the “Parental Advisory Tour,” along with comedy rock/metal outfits Green Jello and Psychostick, Nashville Pussy is bringing their rolling party to a club near you! And if you like rock and booze, or if you like just one of those things, you want to see this show really bad. More...
Underground comedy/metal band Psychostick has announced that they will take part in the Parental Advisory Tour with Green Jelly and Nashville Pussy. The tour kicks off in Orlando, FL, on March 25th and will run through June 7th.
“Our fans have been suggesting a tour with Green Jelly since forever,” says Psychostick vocalist Rob “Rawrb” Kersey. “Having Nashville Pussy headline the whole thing will only make this tour even better. We’re looking forward to the run and think our fans will really dig it.”
This tour marks the debut of Psychostick’s new bassist, Matt Kyzmeck. “Billy Rymer, the drummer from Dillinger Escape Plan, recommended Matt to us,” says Psychostick drummer Alex Preiss. “He [Matt] passed with flying colors and we're very excited to bring him aboard!” Former bassist Jimmy Grant left Psychostick in December 2009 for undisclosed reasons.
Best known for the song “Beer Is Good…. And Stuff,” Psychostick spent much of 2009 on tour promoting their latest album, “Sandwich.” The band released a video for “Girl Directions” in December 2009. Plans for after the Parental Advisory Tour are simple – more touring. Here are the latest Psychostick tour dates:
March 22: Sauget, IL @ Pops
March 23: Atlanta, GA @ TBA
March 24: Jacksonville, FL @ Brewster's Pit More...
Comedy/metal band Psychostick will debut their new video for Girl Directions on AOL Music on December 1. The video was filmed inside of their tour van by director Patrick “Murph” Murphy. You can watch the entire video below, courtesy of AOL Music.
The song is a mockery of women’s inability to give good directions with a chorus that screams “Give me the fuckin’ address! I’m using a GPS!”
“Girl Directions the song was sparked by a girl in Portland, OR who gave us terrible directions to someplace,” says vocalist Rob Kersey. “From there the song just started to take shape…. And now we’re on tour to support it as our new radio single.”
Fans of Psychostick have been acquainted with Murphy for several years since he’s one half of “Gawkman and Murph’ – the band behind The Dumb Song. The Dumb Song is often mislabeled as a Psychostick song, but it’s not.

Heavy metal band, PSYCHOSTICK, has announced their first string of upcoming tour dates to support the release of their latest album, “Sandwich,” which hits streets on May 5 through Rock Ridge Music.
Guitarist Jake McReynolds commented on the upcoming tour: “The Sandwich CD Release Party Tour is going to be an EPIC journey across this great country, leaving in its wake a new breed of metal fan. I am looking forward to this tour, because I am really proud of the new songs. We will definitely play the favorites from the first record, but this tour is about the new songs. It's about the new PSYCHOSTICK.” More...
Comedy metal band Pyschostick has issued the following announcement about completing the recording of their new album:
"Holy crapballs! I just got back from sending the final master of "Sandwich" to production. All of you. Dance.
"The release date is May 5th, 2009! So carve that date into your calendar. Also we've got ourselves a webcast coming up this Monday (Jan 19th) at 6:30 PM MST. Hop on in and join then! We've got lots to talk about. New album, The Birthening DVD, the song contest winner, all that stuff. See ya there!
"There are also some new videos on our myspace page. Absorb them with your eye spheres. What's that? You want to hear a new song? No. Not yet. :)"
Comedy/metal band Psychostick has launched a new way to help raise recording money for their next album: in exchange for a $50 donation, Psychostick will use their fans’ names as a lyric in their new and unwritten song, “400 Thank Yous” (working title). The band plans to start recording in August with a spring 2009 release via Rock Ridge Music.
“Our fans have been asking more and more frequently about when we're going to record our next album. The problem has not been a lack of songs - we have enough songs to record two new albums. We simply haven't been able to afford to stop touring and record it. Finally, something had to be done. This was our solution,” says guitarist Josh “The J” Key.
From July 14th through September 30th, Psychostick will be accepting the $50 donations (limited to only 380) through their website, www.psychostick.com. Businesses will have the opportunity to name drop in one of only 20 places for $250.
In addition to the name use, every donor will receive a signed copy of the new album and a signed poster. One lucky individual will win a pair of tickets plus airfare and accommodations to the CD release party.*
The band has also posted a heartfelt promotional video on YouTube.com, also shown below.
“So in a nutshell, drop some cash our way and your name shall be immortalized in a Psychostick song. We'll pronounce it correctly and everything,” promises Key.
Psychostick has created a special page on their website that details exactly where the money goes (studio time, new equipment, software, etc). Visitors to the page can follow the bands progress dollar for dollar. In total, the band hopes to raise $23,000. More...

Phoenix-based four-piece Psychostick will be coming to a computer screen near you for a series of fan-interactive events over the course of the next month as part of their Not Using Our Webcam For Amateur Porn (But We Wish We Were) Web Tour. The band, who have had a great deal of radio success with their single “Beer” (most recently gracing the WAAF Radio float at the Boston St. Patrick’s Day Parade and inciting fans to mosh in the streets with their music), will be interacting with their fans online in a series of different and exciting webcast events (please see full schedule below). Rock Ridge Music, that band’s label, came up with the idea for a unique web tour that can reach all fans with a computer and would not be limited by geography, making this a first-of-its-kind web tour. The label and band are working with Stickam.com to place the streaming video content on the Stickam site, the label’s MySpace page, and the band’s MySpace page.
“We wanted to take advantage of the opportunities available on the internet to bring tours and our bands’ music to fans everywhere,” says label principal Jason Spiewak.
The idea was hatched by Spiewak and executed by Rock Ridge Marketing Director Kim Frankel, who says: “We were inspired by the drive and determination of label artist Ernie Halter to bring every show to his fans via webcasting on his MySpace page and saw a way that we could take that technology and use it differently for another band. Ernie was instrumental in helping us with the ins and outs of the webcasting, and Psychostick embraced the idea.”
Fans will be able to tune in via computer on set days (times to be announced on the Psychostick MySpace page) to experience a series of “web events” featuring Psychostick, complete with plenty of the antics the fans have come to know and love from the guys. The fans will be able to chat with each other and with the band via a dedicated chat room linked to each broadcast. Psychostick will take time to answer fan questions and talk to them in real time at each event. The schedule is as follows: More...
