Life Of Agony Bassist Launches Comic Series

Life Of Agony bassist Alan Robert has created a new comic series. The trailer for the comic can be viewed below. The official MySpace page for Alan Robert issued the following update:

"Wire Hangers is a new horror/conspiracy comic series written and created by Alan Robert (Life of Agony & Spoiler NYC). Pencils by Mike Lilly (Vampirella, Batman: Detective Comics), inks and covers by comic fan favorite, Nelson (Marvel Masterpieces, Adventures of Superman), and colors by Juan Fernandez (Ant Unleashed). Series will hit comic shelves this year, through a publisher to be announced in the coming months.

"The teaser was animated by Alan Robert using his artwork, with sound-FX created by Josh Silver (Type O Negative) and voice-over by Neil Jason.

"I came up with the concept for Wire Hangers about 15 years ago and have been refining the story ever since. Writing bits and pieces of it on tour, over the years. Sketching character designs for it on the back of lyric sheets and things like that. I'm so excited to be working with such great comic book artists on this and finally bringing it to life! It's a long time coming and I have such a great feeling about it, seems like the timing is really right. Especially, with graphic novel stories taking over the box office and themes getting darker and darker, Wire Hangers fits right in." More...

Gigantour CD/DVD Details Revealed

The second coming of Megadeth's acclaimed traveling metal festival Gigantour arrives on both DVD and CD April 22 via Image Entertainment. Conceived in 2005 by Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine, Gigantour resurrects metal's focus on stellar musicianship.

The Gigantour DVD and CD follow Image Entertainment's fall 2006 release of the debut Gigantour CD and DVD, which featured performances by Megadeth, Dream Theater, Fear Factory, Anthrax (CD only), Nevermore, Life of Agony, Symphony X, Dry Kill Logic and Bobaflex.

Gigantour 2 features over an hour of performances by iconic and influential heavy metal pioneers Megadeth, along with Lamb of God, Opeth, Arch Enemy, Overkill, The Smashup, and Into Eternity. Recorded in DTS 5.1 surround sound, the DVD version also features a behind the scenes look at the 2006 tour, while both the DVD and CD offer a hidden bonus track--Megadeth's "Peace Sells."

The release of the Gigantour 2 DVD and CD coincides with this year's Earth Day--perfect, really, since MUSTAINE has said, with a laugh, about Gigantour's mission of emphasizing true musicianship and virtuosity: " I think that in a small way, we are cleaning up the environment of crappy bands."

Meanwhile, in February Megadeth heads to Europe--where recently announced new guitarist Chris Broderick (Nevermore, Jag Panzer) will make his debut with the band alongside Mustaine, drummer Shawn Drover, and bassist James Lomenzo, before returning for this year's Gigantour.

The 29-date North American trek kicks off April 12 at The Fillmore in Denver and criss-crosses the U.S. and Canada until its May 22 finale at the Mesa Amphitheatre in Phoenix . Joining Megadeth on this year's tour are Scandinavian death metal band In Flames, Finland's Children of Bodom, Arizona's modern extreme Job for a Cowboy, and Oakland, CA heavy power trio High on Fire.

Whit Crane Denies Anthrax Rumours

The Classic Metal Show, heard Saturdays from 9PM-3AM EST exclusively at www.cmsradionetwork.com, recently conducted an interview with vocalist Whit Crane (ex-UGLY KID JOE, MEDICATION, LIFE OF AGONY) to talk about his new project ANOTHER ANIMAL, which also features members of GODSMACK and DROP BOX. During the interview, Crane was questioned as to the rumors that he is the next vocalist of ANTHRAX, which he denied. He also admitted that he has never in his life touched a computer. Below is an excerpt."

The Classic Metal Show: You are obviously out on tour right now with Another Animal. Is this your warmup for taking the gig in Anthrax?
Crane: "Ha! These are my first interviews I've ever, ever done. I did one before this one. The guy before said there's this thing called Wikipedia out there that says that I'm the Anthrax singer."

The Classic Metal Show: It was out there on (the internet) that you did have the gig, then you didn't have the gig, then Corey Taylor had the gig. So we're just curious.
Crane: "Well, I'll tell you. I'm in a band with Scott Ian called Hossie DC, which is a tribute to AC/DC's Bon Scott era, but we dress up like Hassitic Jews. So they might have gotten that mixed up. We play in New York about two times a year. Scott's one of my closest friends, but I think I would know if I was in the band. I can categorically say that, as of yet, I am not in Anthrax."

The Classic Metal Show: Would you consider being in Anthrax?
Crane: "I don't think so. I think I've got my band, for now. I think it's my destination."

The Classic Metal Show: Where can people find out about you on the (world wide) web?
Crane: "You know, I think there's a MySpace presence. I think you would go to the myspace and then go to the music area of that and put in Another Animal. I think that's how you find that. You know, I'm pretty much computer illiterate. You know, I guess I could ask somebody. I've never been on a computer before."

The Classic Metal Show: Really?
Crane: "Yeah. I've never touched a computer key on my earthly visit."

The Classic Metal Show: Wow! Is there any reason why? Do you just not like them?
Crane: "No no no. I'm not anti-computer. It's just a cumbersome item. I travel really light. I've got a backpack. You know, I do have the telephone, which I guess is a form of a computer something. I think you can even get the internet on this thing. I'm pretty much down with my telephone. Text messages is enough for me to make it through the day."
